  1. Flashback to the 60’s! We had those and then the blue plates….what’s old is new again!
  2. Very stylish as always! By the way, what production # is the Mighty Scura?
  3. Can't imagine you worrying about cops Chuck!! When you get stopped, do you stick your hand in your vest like Napoleon as well? You were offering up your Scura the other day if I recall correctly...how many miles are on it now? I'm thinking those Red grips might also be the reason for no vibrations! Hope all is well!
  4. All this talk about hand numbing vibration, I don't have that issue at all on my Scura, but I also use a Crampbuster on all my bikes to avoid any wrist strain, but I'm curious now whether the clips on have any filler in them or not. May have to take a look. I tried mounting Napoleon's a few years ago, but the "shaving" down process was overly complex, so back to standard Aprilia/Guzzi mirrors, I took off the Mickey mouse round ones, those just seemed like a couple of lollipops. My odometer is at 09999, ready to roll over on the next trip, just in time to start racking up the miles this year with this wonderful riding weather down here in Texas.
  5. Products: 1 X Gepäcktasche973260900 V11 NML This is the part number from Stein Dinse. Agree on the coating it black, that’s what I did also. If you have an email, Shoot it to me via pm and I’ll email the larger resolution pics. I don’t host my pics on any hosting sites anymore, so just posting from my IPhone directly… Cheers!
  6. Prego! Here’s the order summary from Stein Dinse with the part number for reference! Fits perfectly…very convenient to have at least one bag…hope the pics are clear enough…I have to shrink them due to size restrictions on the forum…but can send higher resolution if needed via email.
  7. You can also use a Crampbuster, I find this indispensable on all of my bikes to eliminate any wrist cramping, but it also tends to isolate some of the vibes to the palm of the hand, not the fingers or wrist. On the other hand a well tuned V11 should be pleasant to ride at that rpm level, so I'd get quite a few more rides in to see if it's really behaving oddly or just a question of bonding with the bike. However, above 6k and on up, the bike does smooth out a lot...just depends if you like to ride at higher RPM's or not...I'll call this hooligan territory for lack of a better word as the responsiveness is instantaneous, but I'm sure you're used to that also with the Ducatis. Either way, it's fun figuring it out and tinkering, as long as there are no bolts loose anywhere, and these bikes do require inspection of every bolt on a regular basis as I've been told by Chuck, Mike at MPH and others...and it's true!
  8. Corsicana….I know it well!!! What a coincidence!!
  9. A cool 45 this morning…blue skies…after a nice breakfast with the family, had to get the Scura out of the barn to run a bit. Stopped at one of my usual places for a piece of genuine Texas Pecan pie and felt that my Scura has shrunk in size compared to these modern day behemoths! Super nice ride, lots of motos on the road today, twisties galore thru the forest roads. Have to say thanks to Kindoy for the wonderful Alcantara seat he sent me…super nice on these cool days and very comfortable!
  10. Nice pic above AZ...your Scura has grown in size! Here's another great article to read...hats on to this guy! https://www.advpulse.com/adv-news/extreme-moto-expedition-across-siberia-to-the-coldest-city-on-earth/
  11. Well another glorious day of riding the Scura today…just picture perfect. Blue skies, high 50’s, Scura purring like a big cat, hard to beat! Days like this one can ride forever…
  12. Ahem…today in fact right here in Houston…nice and cool ride on the Scura, after all it’s only in the 50’s! After a week in Wisconsin where it dipped well below zero, this feels positively balmy. We ride all the way down to just above freezing, and the hot coffee tastes even better when stopped for a break. Good riding gear makes it quite comfortable. A balaclava helps too…and the right pair of gloves. I wouldn’t ride if it’s icy, but just cold is still very enjoyable. Maybe time to consider a backup generator…Generac or Kohler…life saver during a hurricane or a winter power outage. I put one in after Hurricane Harvey, it’s kicked on several times, including those occasions when transformers have blown in the neighborhood…
  13. Now a surfboard carrier on the Nero Corsa would be an interesting accessory!
  14. Actually, the upgraded option is to route it thru the handlebars! Sparky!! I like the looks of the bike a lot, will definitely want to ride it when it comes out.
  15. Wild question: Does anyone know if the gold handlebars on the Coppa or Scura R models are in fact made by Rizoma or are they some other brand? While I wouldn't change the clip-ons on the Scura as they are extremely comfortable, the gold color does match nicely with the gold Ohlins shocks, reservoir for rear shock, and gold Pazzo levers and Rizoma fluid containers. Curious to see the dimensions of these handlebars compared to the stock Griso one, which I find just a bit too wide by a couple of inches...assuming that it is the same diameter and could be retro-fitted to the Griso...more projects to ponder! So at this point, have we concluded there are no Scura R's in the US?
  16. Odd that the Scura R pictured above has a gold (Rizoma??) handlebar instead of clip ons....was that stock on the R version? Chuck...it looks like the chicken crossed the road right into your Scura and got stuck!
  17. C'est dommage! All in all though, a fun adventure...had just run thru Paris on the way back from Oklahoma/Arkansas a few weeks ago for the Okie Guzzi rally. We ride all year, so whenever your schedule fits, send up a flare.
  18. Thanks P6! Yes, had a chance to read a portion of that online, quite a few places to try out, even one relatively close by in Tomball. We had a great ride out, unfortunately the place in Giddings was closed, so we found another spot for lunch nearby. Was a nice run, about 240 miles round trip, we did a few stops along the way, Newman’s in Belleville, Orsaks in Fayetteville and lunch in Giddings. While the weather is nice , we’ll keep riding…will post up here so you can join as your schedule permits! Cheers…
  19. You hit some great spots on a lightning tour to pick up stops in the tour! So strange to see the Frío café empty! It’s usually packed when I go thru. A nice stop for your return trip is the Lone star motorcycle museum just south of Lost Maples state park near Vanderpool. Good riding!!
  20. A few folks will ride out to Giddings this Sunday to meet there around noon at Outlaws BBQ. Getting to Snow's up in Lexington just up the road would mean standing in line for 3 hours, so we're opting for a different place, but we might ride up to Lexington after lunch before heading home. Will be a mix of Guzzi, BMW, Yamaha and maybe a few others...If anyone wants to join, please come out.
  21. No need to wait till spring time….throw the bike on a trailer and head south…ride some nice roads while there’s still no snow…and head back home!
  22. Just an FYI...I recently mounted my rear rack that I'd had hanging up in the garage for a couple of years, and found that i needed slightly longer screws to get enough purchase when mounting the brackets, but they were easy enough to find at my local ACE hardware store (hex head and recessed). Given that it's a Scura, I ended up painting my rack black, and just got the rear bag from Stein Dinse as well to finish up the install. Looks quite nice in my view! From the picture above, it looks like all the parts are there. You may want to post a "wanted" ad on Wildguzzi as well, a kind soul in Iowa helped me locate mine after I had posted wanting to locate one.
  23. Decibullz are a very good alternative - they are more effective than standard plugs given they have a pressure column that reduces that "dead" zone with standard plugs. Have been using these now for several years, before that Silicone swimmer's plugs, which are also moldable and soft, both are very good for avoiding that pain/pressure that comes from having the helmet press on the plug. https://www.decibullz.com/hearing-protection/ As smooth as the air is on the Scura, I couldn't ride several hours w/o earplugs, I think it would be painful with the wind noise.
  24. None...I have the Roper plate installed, no issues at all.
