Hell yes! Can't wait to see pictures up close!

Pains me to update that I won’t be headed out to join the festivities this time…can’t get enough time off now as originally planned. I hope everyone has a wonderful time and I look forward to the making the next one!

Hot pipes near your legs…how does that make any sense at all even with a heat shield and wrap?
-
Fabulous! Thank you…that’s the one. Now to figure out the process…Guzzidiag is easy to use, so hopefully this hunt for 157 Millivolts will be as well.
-
Is there a part # for this Casper cable or a link of where to buy gents? I have my Guzzidiag cables, done everything on the Norge, Griso and Scura, but this 157 millivolt check on the TPS. I have a good voltmeter, but I keep reading the process over and over and can't really figure it out just yet, but since I don't have the Casper wires to do it just yet, might as well get those and then see if the volts are in line with what they should be! Thanks!

Agree on buying tickets on the spot...Turn 1 is fun...but slow around, so not much "leaning at speed"...generally it's just Marquez running a 3-5 second differential to #2 as he crests turn 1, and the next guy is making the turn way the heck down at the beginning of the grandstand straightaway. I do enjoy the stands where you can see turns 13/14/15/16...

Hardly an appropriate analogy, Guzzi isn’t peddling junk or artery clogging bits! If it is drawing new riders to the brand and existing ones to loosen their purse strings, that’s a good result. It isn’t exactly falling apart either, so by what measure other than preferred specs is it a failure? i suppose when it starts suffering major recalls and pieces start to fail it can be called for its shortcomings.

Same one indeed….I believe they are all tuned the same…but the professionals here can confirm…
-
Ha! Did the same today as well! Nice day for a run in the forest on the Griso…oodles of power…a bit more of a handful on the sweepers, but very long legged and fun to ride!

Classic Italian humor!

Almost...as I posted above...GRIT = Guzzi Riders in Texas. I've never seen Tex or Beaver serve grits at our GRIT rally, but Tex does make some amazing banana/walnut breads for breakfast, and Prescott and team usually help out with a very generous pasta lunch/dinner. You won't leave hungry that's for sure...it is Texas after all! Speaking of grits...the other day, I had some Gouda Grits...simply amazing combo.

In fact, the Moto GP weekend is also the same weekend as the GRIT RALLY...Guzzi Riders in Texas, up in Lindale. But since Oklahoma rally is on the calendar already, I'd rather go to Moto GP 1st weekend of October, and then Oklahoma rally the following weekend. If Moto GP gets cancelled, I may do the GRIT rally, it's an easy 200 miler up from Houston, and Oklahoma is another 200 miles north of that.

It's a small joke, I created the island with my Scura, and after the race saw another guy on a V11, but riding the other direction. So if we get John to ride down on his Greenie, a red Lemans and a Scura...we'll have the M&M collection for our own island! Speaking of jokes...my Guzzi friends in Italy would always say: Ducati, Ducati...soldi buttati!

Agreed...very much "suits" his style, and as the King of COTA, his dominance is undisputed. I don't think he'll win unless the arm recovers...but I do hope he's at least very competitive, that makes it more fun for the spectators. By the way, there's a special V11 parking spot at COTA, it's not Ducati Island, it's La Isola dei V11, out in the motorcycle parking!

Remove all the Tifosi from the stands, and at least 30-40% of the fans are gone. There's a lot of new young guns coming up, but I wish Marquez would be able to make it back to 100%...he's thrilling to watch. I've enjoyed seeing all of them race several times at COTA...what a fun event to watch live.

I've always done this where possible to even out the pressure, as the lock washer retains tension, and the flat washer distributes the pressure in an even fashion (or if the hole is large enough that the lock washer might sit a bit sideways), realizing it's not 100% even, but probably 99.7%. Good enough.

Nice blue Alfa there too...had it been the Alfa SUV, you could have legitimately claimed that a Stelvio had stopped by too!

Major and minor keys Flats and sharps Adaggios and crescendos and Piano piano I used to find playing 6/8 time much harder than 3/4…who knows why, mathematically they are identical! and scales…so many scales to practice over and over! Years of playing French horn in my youth….ah the torture sessions in Orchestra and Band with the conductor…good times!! Who was it who said something to the effect of “A good blues player is not one who knows which notes to play, it’s someone who knows which notes not to play!” -

Fun thread!! I’m going to drink 1035 milliliters of Fat Tire beer, to accompany a 25.4 millimeter brisket meatball, followed off by a 3 millimeter crust on my creme brûlée, coming out of the oven at 400 Kelvin after 425 hexaseconds while sitting in my hexagonally shaped bar chair just 0.75 meters above the ground. Please translate all of the above back to base 8 please and report results! 😅😅 -
Ci vediamo nel anno 2022...forza Italia! Let's hope by then, things have finally settled down, and overseas adventures can begin again!

I like to wear vivid blue and red these days for my jackets, pants are either light grey, khaki green or black if in full armored gear, also have a medium grey jacket...but that combination is hard to see in the evening hours, which is why on long day trips, I try to wrap up by no later than sunset to get off the road, recover and relax, especially after 400 or 500 miles. Next time I'm up for a helmet refresh, will change out the black to a blue or red also... The other combination I've tried recently on these unusually dry days here in Houston (40-50% humidity vs. the normal 90% plus) that I like are long sleeved, UV protected dry fit material fishing shirts, and I put them on wet under the mesh jacket...that provides a nice A/C like effect that keeps me cool, then pour water on every stop. I think I might try leaving one in the freezer overnight and see how that feels too!

I remember living in Phoenix for 2 years back in 1993-1995, a memorable summer of 118 for 3 days straight seems positively cool by comparison to the heat waves you guys have had this year with days above 120F. That's just not humane anymore when it gets down to 100F at night as the cool spot! When golf tee times at 5 am are the most popular of the day...something is wrong! One thing I did enjoy in Phoenix/Scottsdale are those misting systems around everywhere outside you can walk near shops/restaurants. Riding thru Texas, New Mexico and Colorado in mid Summer on a trip to the Guzzi Nat'l Rally in John Day, we were going thru 3 full 3 liter camelbacks per day just to stay hydrated (partial Gatorade, no sugar mixed with ice and water to keep some electrolytes, or at times with Noom tablets)...just brutal riding conditions...but using the full non mesh jacket instead of the mesh helped a lot along with the other tricks posted above. Good post on Heat Stroke vs. Heat Exhaustion above...

A bottle of cold water poured over your neck, front and back every 1/2 hour...wearing moisture wicking materials. A bandana around the neck also soaked in ice water every 1/2 hour A skull cap also soaked in ice water that goes on inside your helmet, provides a huge cooling effect on the head, eliminating heat stroke possibilities A camelback filled with ice as mentioned above, refilling very often and drinking. Vented jackets above 90F work worse than unvented jackets....you're just frying from the blow dryer effect. Drink, drink and drink more...as they say...if you're not peeing, you're dehydrated! Riding here in Texas is perfectly safe if you follow the above...but the heat stroke is real and can catch you...seen plenty of folks passed out under the shade of a tree for lack of hydration.
