Just purchased my Mistral xover directly from Mistral as the stock xover has a small crack in it so seemed a good excuse. Looking forward to fitting and seeing if it makes any difference Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk

Couple of questions been on my mind if anyone can help thanks (2003 lemans)... 1. Choke. Seems to have three positions, off, on and fully on. Fully on requires holding with the thumb as it is sprung loaded and returms to on. Slightly annoying as to warm the bike requires a hand on the bar which could be put to better use undoing chain lock etc 2. Clutch. Is it normally rattly when pulling in the clutch lever? Particularly from cold. Not sure if its a worn clutch basket or just standard fare. Thats it! Thanks in advance Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk

Hi Mike, thanks for the warm welcome. Ive ridden and owned scores of bikes over the years and really am enjoying the V11. In fact today l had a bit of fun shaking off a big supermoto on my local twisties - the lemans can definately hold its own when needed! Mind you I chugged back home tonight, visor open and enjoyed a chilled summer ride. Such versatility! Im glad you like the rear end, I actually deliberated for about 2 weeks on what items would give the look I was after. The indicators are Oxford Jupiters and the rear light has the (mot required) integral numberplate light... its a DRC Edge Led light. The bracket was for a yamaha Yzfr 125 which only needs a few holes drilling. Hope that helps! Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk

Thanks- lots of good suggestions for me to work through to resolve this issue. Ride home tonight no problems thankfully, started on the button! Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk

Hmm the relay issue sounds likely. Anyone know of a UK source for them? Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk

Good suggestions thanks chaps, ill pull the starter and go from there... Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk

Not sure if this is a common issue, but ive noticed a few occassions where I go to start my '03 lemans and i just hear the click of the starter solenoid but starter motor doesnt turn... almost like the battery is flat, however, a few more presses and it does fire up (battery is fully charged). Perhaps the issue is a connection at the starter motor... since the solenoid is working that would imply the problem is further down the line. I was thinking of cleaning up the starter motor contacts. Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk

Seems you cant buy a v11 tail tidy off the shelf. This is for a yamaha YZF R125. It fits without any modifications aside from drilling for the stop/tail light. The issue is that once you remove the original item, you are left with a square hole in the standard undertray. I overcame this by machining a block which fitted to the original subframe mounts and sits perfectly flush in the hole. I sealed it with black silicone to keep out the spray off the tyre, then fitted the new tail tidy to the original frame mounts. I.e. the block is a large spacer. All can be demounted and returned to standard. I think it helps accenuate the nice rear hump of the v11, plus the standard lamp and indicators seem a bit aprilia parts bin and dont match the quality of the rest of the bike. Here you go. Probably should conceal the number plate but dont suppose it matters much Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk

Whilst recovering from a non fault accident late in Autumn last year, which destroyed my Speed triple, I started thinking about the next bike and decided to find the V11 I'd always fancied from my bucketlist of bikes. I found a lovely looking Le Mans, although it was a slanted towards touring more than my taste required. It had 44k on the clock but the condition was stunning and it had clearly been cared for so no great concerns on the milage. I snapped it up and set to work making a few tweeks. I removed the tekno panniers and mounts, the rear MG rack. I also removed the rear fender, made a tail tidy and swapped out the rear light and all the indicators for quality led items. Gave everything a good polish up and she was ready to go! From years riding multi cylinder bikes, at first the Guzzi feels lumpy, but soon becomes familiar and sets the character. It really does give the V11 personality. On the move it chugs along with a fantastic Mistral soundtrack - the best noise the V twin growl between gear changes. At first I thought the power was a little tame (having owned hayabusa, fazer 1000, aforementioned Triumph and so on) but then tried pinning the throttle wide open to the stop, and wow it really takes off, and remains that way through the gears and stays in that magical range where it has an entirely different personality to its cruising mode. Handling is spot on too, mine has Ohlins rear shocker and whilst its clearly no outright sport machine, it tracks very predictably and without fuss. Very confidence inspiring. Im a countryside rider, and the Brembos pull it up quickly. Needed to try that a couple of times to miss local wildlife! I love the looks. Classic, but modern. But not too modern. Fantastic build quality, and a lovely, deep finish. But, the best thing is this... it feels so individual and unique. Parked up next to dozens of modern generic sports bikes, it stands out for all the right reasons. Riding it just feels good. Its not the fastest, nor the most technical and its not particularly valuable, but theres something special about being perched on that low seat and stretching over that long tank. Its just a cool machine, a blast to ride and short of meeting up some of you guys here sometime, I cant imagine I'm EVER going to pass anyone else on one. How many Fireblade/GSXR riders can say that! Thanks guys. Ill start by setting the valves then gather up the stuff needed for the tune up. Keen to learn to do it myself! Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk

Ok thanks for the advice. I think youre all right, slightly more noticeable when warm so could be a good start point. Previous owner mentioned he set the valves to raceco settings, not sure if that makes a difference Also I was going to invest in the X-over pipe under the sump to replace the stock unit. Thinking the Mistral one to match the end cans. Is gutsibits in the UK the only option? Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk

Hi All. My 03 V11 le mans runs nicely in general but is suffering from that occassional sneeze at idle...which can be enough to stall the engine, not great when your sat wating for the traffic lights to change. Its running Mistral end cans and PC3. I think it would benefit a proper tune up. Reading up advice on the forum seems theres some talented expertise among us. I am not fully confident or tooled up (yet). Is there anyone in London/home counties (im in Aylesbury) who knows their V11s and can help me get it running spot on. Happy to pay and watch and learn! Interesting thread this... I noted that a couple of the bikes were done for others; is anyone offering a tune up service? Happy to pay, and Id like to observe and learn with someone experienced before tackling myself in the future. Im in bucks uk. Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk

Since blanking the headers for the balance pipe the sneeze/cough that i used to get when the bike wasnt under much load at low revs has gone, but there still seems a slight occassional hiccup right at the bottom of the rev range, whilst not under load. Doesnt seem a problem but curious if it can be dialled out? Sent from my SM-G928F using Tapatalk
