I figure I wouldn’t get much push back with that comment.

So my buddy Mike has been filming a series of interviews at his Cul De Sac. It's a way to socially distance and still get a motorcycle fix during this wee pandemic. It's mostly British bikes because, well, that's what his channel is about but that doesn't mean there can't be some diversity. Some of his viewers have been clamoring for some Guzzis so I rounded up my friend Terry and gave them a double dose. The channel is at http://themightygarage.com and if you like great motorcycle videos then consider subscribing. New videos are released at least once a week and this time of year even more often.

ANSWERED V11 for sale online/ Craigslist and all others

You would be surprised at what can turn up in the South. With the distributor gone in that area there is little to no support and even less knowledge about those bikes there. -

I have a feeling it's next to that place that the sun don't shine. -

Just because a dealer sold something doesn't mean it came from the factory. Unless you have factory literature showing a product I would question it.

My machinist in the Norton club is so old school his lathe can’t cut the metric threads. So far my mount is working fine although the custom one is pretty cool.
-
All good! Thanks for confirming.
-
The bottom of the tank should either align with the bottom or the seat or it should flow together. Neither one of these two do that.
-
Can you confirm the height dimensions? Overall and then of the upper and lower parts?
-
You can't have a 30mm diameter object and require a 30mm wrench. But you are correct that the first post did say a 30mm wrench. If I could get to my bike I'd measure the existing stem nut but there are a couple Nortons in the way. Damn British.
-
I don’t disagree which why I’m waiting for validation of the figures from @KINDOY2 who said the flats were 25mm and outside diameter was 30mm.
-
You, who never misses anything.
-
I may get some made, stay tuned. Need to verify the dimensions first.

CV joints seem to be a much more complex and weaker solution, but unfortunately necessary in some applications. Meanwhile if you have an application where a U-joint will suffice it can be made more inexpensively and robustly (assuming engineered correctly). Isn't the issue with the V11 drive shaft the difficulty in keeping the join lubed correctly?

Maybe some bar end mirrors...
-
Did someone say they didn't like bar end mirrors? They give the absolute best view behind you but they do add to the width.

Life is so much easier when you know someone who has a lathe. Any chance you have a drawing for the stem nut?

Who said it was official police procedure? Or that it was taught a police schools?

https://providence.craigslist.org/mcy/d/woonsocket-moto-guzzi-v11-sport/7118960252.html Someone better get this! You know you might love the V11 you have now but deep in your heart you really lust for a Greenie. Come join us. -
They have the V11 Sport tank listed at 5.8gal, the most I've ever put in was 5. You sure would think I could go farther with a 5.8gal tank.

https://www.motorcyclistonline.com/moto-guzzi-motorcycles-griso-8v-se-short-shift-review/ Here you know they actually weighed it and didn't rely on Italian marketing. 557/531 lb. (tank full/empty) https://www.motorcyclistonline.com/moto-guzzi-v11-sport-road-test/ Weight 546 lb. (wet) 511 lb. (fuel tank empty) So they are saying 20 lbs difference.

I’d like to see real world weights on the two bikes. I believe the factory numbers about as much as I believe the factory hp numbers.
