  1. Your Aerostitch jacket wasn't waterproof? Of course after 20 years the material won't remain waterproof.
  2. I'm wondering how prevalent the Roper Plates really are? I don't have a poll option if you have more than one V11 Sport and not all of them have plates.
  3. It might depend on what you consider "overseas".
  4. You can bet we won't rat you out.
  5. I don't think Italian bike owners should throw stones at Brit bike owners. Tales of woe on each side are epic.
  6. I have some Alpinestar boots. Waterproof (although I’m not sure if I’ve tested them) and very comfortable. And reasonably priced. https://www.revzilla.com/motorcycle/alpinestars-roam-2-wp-boots
  7. The build quality on the new Triumphs is outstanding. Heck the reliability is also outstanding. You should pop over to a Triumph dealer and take a look.
  8. I thought it would look worse with the spoked wheels. It's actually not that bad. Would I do it? No, just not worth the expense.
  9. I'm not sure I've even seen a crash bar on a V11 Sport.
  10. <looks in garage> I wonder what that says about me?
  11. I recall (and we know how questionable that is) visiting the distributor at sometime maybe in the 90s. They were in North Carolina. I suspect I have photos of Benellis and Laverdas and probably some Guzzis. I wonder where those photos are.
  12. Inappropriate? Probably. Accurate? Definitely.
  13. $14k-ish. There's a guy locally who was trying to sell one for something like $15k. I could have swore I heard about other ones. Edit: I was a bit off. I found the old thread and it was $11k and the range seemed to be 7-9k for one. I swear I'm losing it.
  14. Post pics. I'm especially interested in the "custom modifications" the PO did.
  15. Oh... I'll know.
  16. For your kids to auction off at a pittance? I know I am going to ask for a rotisserie coffin to make the spinning easier.
  17. I see the Coppa owners getting nervous.
  18. Not the first time I’ve heard of one going that low. I will say that if you carefully look at all of the pics I don’t think it was in top condition. Rarity absolutely doesn’t equal value. Desirability does.
  19. You use to hear that some people would put these in the $14-15k range. I just didn't see how. https://www.lelandlittle.com/items/366967/rare-2004-moto-guzzi-v11-coppa-italia/?ref={"name"%3A"Automobiles"%2C"url"%3A"\%2Fauction\%2Fthe-march-estate-auction\%2F53689\%2Fsearch\%2F%3Fadd_filters%3D%7B%22entities%22%3A%5B%7B%22type%22%3A%22category%22%2C%22id%22%3A10016%2C%22name%22%3A%22Automobiles%22%7D%5D%7D"} I can't think of a worse time to hold an auction but I'm guessing the kids want the money now. Given that he apparently liked the bikes more than the kids I'm sure they can't wait to get rid of them. Timing might be part of the low price. But I suspect this is the neighborhood these bikes should go for. $7000.
  20. 50lbs?
  21. Light compared to what? A tank?
  22. Let's get this out of the way, Greenie > the rest. The rest is just squabbling about the details. I've never heard about any engine differences. Certainly not enough to worry about. From a performance difference there nothing measurable.
  23. The common advantage of humidity is that when someone coughs the heavier air drags the virus down quicker. I still haven't seen anything on what temp will kill this virus, which is strange. But more evidence is mounting that this is not some hyper-powerful virus that can break through walls and get you. Meanwhile I'm getting a little stir crazy being locked in the house with two kids. I sprained my wrist so no riding so that's not helping either.
  24. The cause of the outbreak in Italy was the Chinese connection. Same with Iran. While trying not to get political that is the unfortunately reality. So as long as NZ can contain any outbreaks they should be fine and probably one of the safer places in the world right now. https://www.newyorker.com/magazine/2018/04/16/the-chinese-workers-who-assemble-designer-bags-in-tuscany But coupled with the factors you mentioned about an aged population, close social interaction along with a questionable heathcare system it not a good situation.
  25. I think the idea of using the cap was to keep the same key locking option.
