  1. So, yep, as new these batteries come at maybe 50% and should be "conditioned." Hopefully the thread "Odyssey PC545 Battery Conditioning" will be helpful. It is a lengthy thread, but has a "best answer" post that may be the most concise on the "method." There are discussions noted on the fact that "new" (check your date codes) Odyssey should be conditioned before installation. Be willing to observe, even record the "voltage sequence", and perform the discharge/charge cycle a few times with the correct amperage/voltages ("approved charger"), and your experience is likely to be stellar! So I need to buy the battery AND the charger? This is on the Odyssey approved list: https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00BXL2BS4/?coliid=I7NYNVCZUC82O&colid=26Y5AVMGX9WC6&psc=0&ref_=lv_ov_lig_dp_it I'm hoping that to bring a fresh battery up to charge that a "regular" charger will work. I've got this 3A charger which I think will work. Isn't the 6A needed only to desulfate? http://products.batterytender.com/Chargers/Battery-Tender.html
  2. @docc Any chance you have the photos?
  3. If I buy the battery don't they come charged to like 30%? Do I need to also buy an Odyssey specific charger to bring it up to full charge? When I plug in V11 Sport to the Odyssey site it comes back with the PC925L which seems like overkill. Where did the recommendation for the PC545 come from? https://www.odysseybattery.com/battery_search.aspx?type=MOT
  4. So just get an Odessey and not get a charger and try to revive this one? Odyssey PC545 Powersports Battery https://www.amazon.com/dp/B0002ILK7M/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Eq6MCb5YGTYY2 or Odyssey PC545MJ Powersports Battery https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000XS9W9O/ref=cm_sw_r_cp_api_i_Qr6MCb52EQ6M9
  5. We’re the Sparks ever sold here or did they only come with the bikes new?
  6. Weird in that I expected it to have failed already. After my overcharging incident I expected that to have killed the battery, instead it looked just fine. Bike started and ran perfectly a few weeks ago. We had another beautiful day today and I was looking forward to a nice ride. Turn key on... 6.3v Not quite enough. I didn't realize this was a Moto Guzzi branded battery. It can't be original, not after this long. The PO might have notes on when the battery was replaced. I need to go back and look. Undeterred I looked around the garage at the 4 other bikes... Bultaco? Yeah, no battery. The other two? Batteries too big. The Norton battery is really small, obviously no electric starter so it just needs to hold a charge to kickstart. Since the Norton is on the bench waiting for a heart transplant and I was desperate to ride I give it a shot. While too small overall it was the right thickness. A little padding (gloves) and give it a go. I'm not sure what the CCA are but I'm sure it's minimal. The bike did crank and start and that was good enough for me! So off I went down the road in search for some lunch. I ended up in Willamina, which use to be a logging town, and although there are still plenty of logging trucks I'm sure it pale in comparison to the good old days. Bike made it there and back and that's all I could ask. I've got the old battery on a charger but I don't think it's going to come back. Now I need to find a replacement, luckily it will be raining for a while so I have time.
  7. The only ones I've seen are the 1100 Sport-based ones. They usually have a spot at the top of the pits at the Barber Vintage Festival. But it was only a matter of time until they made a V11 Sport one.
  8. I don’t know what the newer V7s frames look like. Closer to a spine or a Tonti?
  9. Y’all are talking practical? I think someone needs to go and look in their garage again. The V11 Sport is barely practical as it is. does anyone know how the new V7 tanks compare size-wise to the early V7 Sport or Lemans tanks?

  11. If you have pictures that would be great. Always interesting to see how different engines handle the oil pressure release.
  12. Will you have before and after dyno results to compare?
  13. That does make sense. I believe the tanks are nylon, which does attract water. Am I correct on the tank material?
  14. Someone got a little out of hand with the HDR photo setting.
  15. Although the titanium one is pretty cool. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  16. It finally warmed up enough last week for me to get out for a spin. According to the voltmeter on my heated grips it never went over 13.5v. Seems to be working right. One less thing to worry about.
  17. I've been in contact with the builder. He's now sold the bike to a mate. The tank apparently started as a LeMans tank. I assume heavily modified to fit the spine frame. He didn't take pictures during the build. Hands down the best customized V11 Sport ever.
  18. Not when you’re going for the class land speed record. We showed a great little film on Rollie Free at the film festival a couple years ago. While a dry documentary it was still fascinating. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  19. Seats are for wimps.
  20. Would assembly lube also work?

  22. Good! I was going to snap it up and resell it for much more but I'd rather someone here have it.
  23. The Bimota? yes it is and small. I'm 6'2" and it was the only bike I've ever owned that while riding along no part of the bike was visible to you, even in your peripheral vision. Was like wooshing along 1/2 meter off the ground suspened in space. An absolute bastard to work on as well. Ciao I think he means the LeMans. I'm guessing custom tank and seat and modified side covers. And exhaust.
  24. Great finds!
  25. I went through all that trouble mounting the Ram mount to the steering head and I wish I had known about these. https://www.ebay.com/itm/Quality-Aluminum-Alloy-Stainless-Steel-Adjustable-Motorcycle-Tank-Phone-Holder/292675133847?fits=Model%3AV11%7CMake%3AMoto+Guzzi&epid=28022438950&hash=item4424cc2197:g:21IAAOSwKdZbbQdX
