How about a selection of broken spring pictures, surely there must be plenty of examples. Are they all breaking in the same place?

Probably translates to twin cylinder 5 valve. If so.. I hope they have finally gotten it right. Or 5 speed. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

The auto translate into English subtitles was... ahem... interesting. Based on those women alone I need to learn Italian.

...and my BMW K75s has a clever auto-retract spring that's actuated by the clutch cable at the transmission. And the Husky sidestand flies up and hits you in the balls if you stand too close to the bike. That's a mistake you make only once. I get distracted when there are people around. I've "stalled" my Scura more than once by putting it into gear with the sidestand down - thank-you e-nanny. I hate that K75 side stand. It doesn't stay out until you put weight on it. So you are balancing the bike on one foot trying to hold the side stand out and hoping it doesn't slip and the bike land on your sorry ass. The clutch thing is too cute. Don't get me started on the whole "tap both brakes or the flashing light thing". I had to put up with that for 75 miles before my dad and brother told me that trick on the way back from Barber. The last thing you want with a hurricane on your butt is warning light... You can see why my brother sold his K75 when he got a Guzzi.

The nice thing about the side stands on my Norton and Tonti is they are so long it's nearly impossible to ride off with them down. You wouldn't make it two inches before it would get ugly. The police stand on the Tonti is so long you can see it even past the cylinder head.

Can someone post a picture of the stock spring in place, perhaps additional photos of the range of the spring? I thought I had read something about the boss and spring not matching (15mm vs. 16mm) and perhaps the spring binds and breaks?

V9 with fatter tires...

spri by swooshdave, on Flickr I see it as 3 main parts if you follow this model. 1. Drill a hole and mount a stud. 2. Spring 3. Drill a hole and mount a stud. As is this example you can just use off the shelf parts. How did Guzzi fix it on later bikes? Is this exclusive to the 6 speed V11s?

I thought the Scura had a carbon fiber one? If I eve put on a tank bag I'll probably go with a fuel cap mounted Givi. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B01BDXGLL4/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=IYMYBR20QJ8FI&colid=26Y5AVMGX9WC6 https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007217IHI/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=I37FBKL8G7TQ86&colid=26Y5AVMGX9WC6

Should be enough used ones to replace it with.

Has anyone ran wires inside the handlebars and how did you do it? I'm thinking about bar end turn signals and want to hide the wiring. Before I get too crazy I need to ride the bike without the bar end weights and see how much difference they make. I may need to shove some lead tube up the bars first. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B072JXY9HS/_encoding=UTF8?coliid=IGWV67QR3RPDC&colid=26Y5AVMGX9WC6

Do you have to recheck the play and possibly use a different shim or should it be good to go? I'm afraid to ask what that big bearing costs...
-
Check to see if your torque wrench has Nm, for example mine is on the other side.

Tontis have always referred to the big blocks starting with the V7 Sport, they technically went all the way into the early 90s, but were the big cruisers by then. While technically correct that Tonti helped with the small blocks the small blocks are knowns as small blocks. The Tonti name was given to the Toniti-framed big blocks to differentiate from the Loops (Eldorados, etc).

Pretty rough "cafe" Commando. That fiberglass tank will need to be tossed. 1973-early 1974. Still the same age (1974)as the one above just slightly better condition. 1975 was the first year for electric start and the last year for the Commando (they bleed on for a while after 1975 but those are mostly unsold 1975s...) Custom paint and Corbin seat. 1973-early 1974 and the most stock of the three except for the wheels (alloy) and the seat doesn't look right. The singles are the Comet. If it says HRD then it's pre-1950ish. They changed from HRD to Vincent when too many people confused HRD with HD. That last Vincent is probably a real Black Lightning ($$$$$$$$$) or a Black Shadow ($$$$$) dressed as a Black Lightning. Pretty steep price on that Comet. Were there any prices on the Nortons? Awesome shop and thanks for the pictures!!!! -

Velocette branded as an Indian. There was some wacky Indian stuff in the late 60s-early 70s. See https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indian_Motocycle_Manufacturing_Company and what Floyd Clymer did back then. I'd eat Alpo to be in the doghouse for $2k. -
SOLD, THANKS! Hepco&Becker Rack for V11 Sport Variants
swooshdave replied to Bugtarget's topic in Personal Ads
Is this the same rack? https://www.motomachines.com/Complete-Rack--Moto-Guzzi-V-11-Sport-2001-_p_1010.html -
I lot of oil leaks can be caused by over pressurization of the crankcase. Make sure the breather system is clear and working properly too.

So Lord knows why I was watching this show but I happened to catch the episode go Garage Rehab on Velocity or Discovery and there was a scene at a biker hangout and I could have swore I saw a Greenie in the parking lot. Yes, it was only a half of a second but that green is unmistakable! It was the Slop Shop episode in Jackson MS. I need to watch it again to see what the name of the restaurant was. I may even try to get a screen grab. https://www.discovery.com/tv-shows/garage-rehab/

Nice side boob, I mean side headlight shot... -
I'd agree...

Ditch the PC. Way better tuning tools with the stock ECU. It’s a Guzzi, not an Aprilia. It will turn when it gets around to it. Removing the air box is not a performance mod, it’s a farkle mod.

What are the best upgrades for Lemans 850 MK3 1983?
swooshdave replied to pco27's topic in Older models
Why not keep it stock? It will never be as easy to ride or have as much power as a V11. Just appreciate it for what it is.
