  1. I thought the pawl spring issue was due to any incorrect boss or something?
  2. He use to MX a Ducati 450RT. Plus he's more familiar with the 860GT I have. He thought it sounded different but he's use to singles. There are still a couple operating ferries around here. Here's a video of the other one, I apologize for the heavy Norton content. https://youtu.be/F34vIVIvr1Q Ferry is around the 3 minute mark if Nortons and Vincents bore you. 3. At one point I was watching some skydivers come down but they were too small with the wide angle lens to see on screen. It was still pretty cool. The old lady in the Cobra was wrapped up like a mummy. Didn't want anything to do with the wind and sun. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  4. I have an external microphone but I always forget to use it. Maybe one day. I had to deliver something to my uncle so I took the scenic route, as in I took a couple turns and got lost. You'll see what I found. I'm bummed because at one point I watch three skydivers descending but they were too small in the frame to see. I'm not sure why I get rather poor gas mileage, I suspect it's due to too many trips to the 7K+ neighborhood on the tach...
  5. So do the ratings on the 15W-50 scare anyone?
  6. I still don't know how they can sell the 5qt jugs so cheap. If you buy them one qt at a time it's at least $6/ea. 15W-50 is pretty close to 10W-60 that the later bikes "require" and I can't remember what the early V11s spec'd. There's an oil thread on WG but I wouldn't touch that with a ten foot... horse drainer...
  7. I haven't seen an oil thread in a while. In an effort to stir the pot here I go. I was at Walmart today and I decided to check out the Mobil 1 selection. Exhibit A: IMG_2265 by swooshdave, on Flickr 5 quarts of automotive grade 15W-50. It says it has extra zinc which is more important for older engines. $22 Exhibit B: IMG_2266 by swooshdave, on Flickr 1 qt of Mobil 1 4 stroke "racing" oil. $10 Exhibit C: IMG_2267 by swooshdave, on Flickr 1 qt of Mobil 1 V-twin oil. Good if your oil is shared with the clutch and tranny. Neither apply with the V11. $10 Considering the auto oil is a fraction the cost of the motorcycle oil it's tempting. Fully synthetic, added zinc and about the right weight. Most of you are too old to know what a /r/roast me is but I'm ready for your worst. Go!
  8. I've been to that turn off many times. Unfortunately, not *that* time. She seems a little reluctant to sit down on that sandy seat . . . Have you ever sat on a black vinyl seat that was out in the sun? You could burn some very sensitive areas!
  9. Question: What does this fix and does a 2001 need it?

  11. Could never hurt to ask MG Cycle, is that where you got it from?

https://www.stahlbus-us.com/oil-drain-valve/oil-drain-valve/stahlbus-oil-drain-valve-m16x15x12mm-steel-set.html Are Guzzi owners too cheap for something like this? Or why bother if you are going to drop the ^%^&&** pan to get to the filter anyways?
  13. Link to Craigslist always helps.
  14. You do realize that you will be required to post pictures during your trip or face being kicked off the forum. At least that what they told me when I joined...
  15. Did I say picture? I meant video!
  16. Parts books are made before production. A good guess is that they originally thought of using 3 relays like the earlier bikes but then switched to 5 but never updated the documentation.
  17. Picture? Brand of muffler? Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk
  18. I'd like to see those both on a scale. It's the frame rails and fuel tank that make it seem bigger. It's very wide as you look down.
  19. I would think the Ducati would be the worse of all.
  20. I test rode the Griso this weekend. And a V7. The V7 shouldn't be mentioned in the same sentence with a V11. The Griso feels way bigger and heavier than the V11... with good reason. It is! The V7 was ok, but it felt like it had about half the power of the V11... with good reason. It does! http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=20038&p=223272
  21. I didn't notice it until I looked at the picture. It was getting warm and I didn't want to get caught in slow freeway traffic. Apparently we have the number one dealer in the country. I'm surprised and pleased. I hope they move to a better location. The owner must live nearby as last place (vintage Triumph parts with a side of new Guzzi) wasn't far away.
  22. Aprilia Moto Guzzi of Portland was having Test Ride day. Sure it was warm but what the heck! There was a wide range of bikes available. First up for me was... The Mighty Griso. It just has power everywhere in the band, hi, low, in between. And it really doesn't care what gear or rpm. You do sit up much more than my V11 Sport, not that's it's unexpected.Pretty comfortable. Easily cross the country at high rates of speed. What didn't I like? It is heavy for it's size. And the clutch lever was heavier than the brake. Still, way too much fun. I then took a V7 Stone out. I was expecting a lighter, lower powered bike and I wasn't disappointed. Not enough power for me, it had a hard time keeping up with the other bikes. No tach, just a red light that kept warning me to shift. I'll take a tach please. This is an excellent beginner bike. I thought I might like one for running around town but I'll pass. There were two other V11 Sports at the shop for service. I think that's the most I've seen in one place. I thought the guy on the Kawi was going to drop to one knee and propose to one of the Aprilias... I think he was ready to sign the paperwork right there. He had just picked up a non-running 93 California for $250 and wanted to check out some other Guzzis. It was disturbing getting back on the V11 Sport and it feeling like a lightweight after riding the Griso. I had a good time trying out a couple bikes. Maybe I'll throw a leg over a V9 one of these days.
  23. I approve of this.
