  1. Sleep is for the weak.
  2. Ok, my current packing list: Rain Gear (we had 70mph winds here today. So glad I wasn't flying out today!) 3 pairs of gloves (summer, spring and winter, this is Oregon and you can have all three seasons in one afternoon!) Rok Straps RAM mounts (yes, two, one that can bolt to the mirror/clutch perch and another that can mount in the steering stem http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=19070) Relays (FIVE Omron so I don't have to hear from docc when I hit a bump and pop a relay) Battery Tender cable (current owner doesn't believe in battery tenders, thinks that if you need one you don't ride enough. Obviously doesn't live in Oregon!) Battery Tender extension (to run power to the RAM mount) Battery Tender to USB adapter Battery Tender Voltage Meter (the battery is a couple years old so I need to see how strong it is) Multimeter Allen Wrenches Cresent Wrench (Small) Zip ties! Safety Wire (for when zip ties just aren't enough) Duct Tape (for when zip ties and safety wire isn't enough) Go Cruise (the aluminum one because the plastic ones break) Spare bag so I can offload some stuff to the rear rack. All this plus clothes and other stuff going into my Velomacchi backpack. It's going to be loaded! It should look interesting going through the TSA checkpoint with this stuff...
  3. And how big is the hole? 1/4 in?
  4. Thanks. I'm mostly interested in hearing someone say that it does work and what's under that cap (which I still don't know, but I assume it's a hole?) but if the mount works I'm good with that. Thanks!
  5. Does the tank rub because it's swelled a little? Or does the plastic just distort after a while? If the wire doesn't cooperate easily I'll be fine. I can charge the phone in the tail while riding. I have one of the big old eyes phone so it holds a charge for a while.
  6. I suspect I can remove the rear bolt and lift the tank enough to run the wire if there's enough play in the fuel line. As I run the phone as my GPS I'll want to have it handy.
  7. Why do you have to remove the rear body panel to run the cable from the battery to the front?
  8. Yes, I'm looking forward to taking it back up to Moto International just to visit. Were there any other warranties for that year?
  9. According to some documents I got from the owner Moto International preformed some gearbox warrenty done in which they "replaced four internal parts". Any idea what that was?
  10. I am NOT reading the service manual, let me repeat, I am NOT reading the service manual...
  11. 113617 Which puts it pretty close to Kiwi_Roy. With the last six digits isn't it pretty easy to guess the rest? Or was the 9th digit random? Looks like this one was right before they switched to the manual fuel tap (113816).
  12. I'm still getting the build date and VIN. Trying to not bug the seller too much. One week to go. KILLING ME. Weather in the Bay Area turned to crap today. It was a good call not to go this week.
  13. I contacted one of the fiberglass places. Trying to figure out how many they could sell.
  14. Moto International has said that Givi has dropped them.
  15. So it looks like Harpers and Moto International can't supply the Scura style fairing. But there are a couple places that could make the fairings. http://www.airtech-streamlining.com/vintage/vintagefairingsquarter.htm http://www.caferacingparts.com How many people would be interested?
  16. Not if he used the purple Simple Green. Doesn't harm aluminum.
  17. Has anyone put a LM1 fairing on a V11? It must have been done by now?
  18. Pictures when you do!!!!
  19. So the Scura fairings are no longer available? Has anyone looked at getting them reproduced in fiberglass?
  20. So has anyone used one of these mounts and anything tricky about the installation that couldn't be done with simple tools?
  21. Sorry, crappy lighting. It's just black.
  22. I bet I could take off the seat fairing and lay my 30L Kriega back there... Hmmm...
  23. Product Liability Weight rating is different from practical weight rating.
  24. If there's one thing I do is over-document my adventures. I'm surprised I haven't been kicked off the forum yet. If you want up to the minute stuff you can follow me on Instagram (swooshdave) and Twitter (@swooshdave). I was going to post to the V11 Sport Facebook group but that's pretty dead (I think the last post was two years ago). And then I'll post to this thread as I can. With only a 150 mile range I'll have time to upload photos. Stay tuned! And I think you meant West Coast.
  25. Yeah, I've been down to the Bay Area several ways, in all kinds of different vehicles (no bikes). Don't need a medical card in Oregon as it's legal, don't really need one in CA as they don't care. I'm going to try to get out of the metro area as quickly as possible as the traffic is always horrendous. I don't want to be on a strange bike in heavy traffic in questionable weather.
