I just scrolled through it and noticed that they sell a new transmission case (I mention it, since it you had to weld yours recently.) @Blight - the Sport is looking sweet. Will be fun to see it in red. My transmission case was never welded.... what gives? That comment was directed at LowRyter, who went through a rough process getting his cracked case welded. Pardon the confusion and off-topic post. Keep up the good work on your project. Thanks!

  3. Yep.... they do top quality work..... I have their screens on my '86 Honda VF1000R and had one on my '77 Harley XLCR1000 too before I sold it to a guy in Italy!! Cheers, BLIGHT

  5. haha... or mebbe a yellow V11 Sport (jelly-bean tank model)? hmmmmm.... My best buddy loves yellow bikes.... Me? I do too, but not so much as to do it to my personal bike. I'll have a tank, front fairing, seat surround and cowl to paint as a '2nd color fitment option'. My dream is all red like the Ballabio, but maybe there is something I haven't considered? BLIGHT
  6. Looks like I could get a gel-coat fiberglass RZ-350 bikini fairing from AirTech, ($103 USD) and trim it down to look like the V11. Would still need to get a screen and hardware. They have a very similar side profile. Better yet, just wait until a breaker offers a real one for sale on the bay. BLIGHT PS: Scrap that RZ350 fairing idea ... it would not look right or fit very well without a lot of fiddling.

  8. Just ordered a used, chipped, rear seat cowl and rear 'fairing' on ebay.... gonna prep and paint them red too when I paint the ebay tank red. Wish I could find a beat-up but usable front fairing too... anybody got one for cheap? I want to keep all of the current body work in original colors for sure. Swapping out colors is about a 45 minute job, and could 'almost' be like having two V11's!!! BLIGHT
  9. Weren't most all of the V11's fitted with red pork chops? I had planned to paint them wrinkle black in my PhotoShop doodling, but I think they look pretty cool the way they are. There are a couple of cracks in the thick coating but I took a red Sharpie and colored them in.... not noticeable now. BLIGHT
  10. Only ridden a short distance, but it seems to make little or no difference. A longer harder ride will tell, and I may need to upload a different map if it's getting more air. No popping on decel, so it must not be too lean in the idle settings. I'm going to fab some small (mostly hidden) tabs to secure the rear of the pods... don't want them flopping around and potentially coming loose. BLIGHT
  11. Hey dudes...latest modifications: Removed plastic side covers, removed airbox & paper filter, relocated airbox-temp sensor up near steering head, and installed K&N red pod filters. Removed only a couple of pounds of weight, but looks 20 lbs lighter visually as you can now see thru the bike, and it should breathe easier too! Cheers, BLIGHT PS: BTW, I had a gathering of friends here for the USA WSBK/MotoAM races this weekend and they unanimously asked me to keep it the 'wineberry' color!! I have to admit, I have been getting really nice compliments on it wherever I go. The purple color is growing on me as well... pretty gorgeous! I still have the other V11 tank (ebay) that I stripped and is ready for the 'guards-red' paint I bought... I'm gonna go ahead and paint it since I already bought the paint and gold decals. I will try it on the bike and see if I love it more than the purple. We'll see!
  12. I got the same message using Imgur last night. Turned out all I needed to do was add a space after the (link text) and a space before the last and it worked. There are a few web pages I found that said Google Photos could be hosted on forums. I tried it and it didn't work immediately, but I'll keep messing with it. I don't think Google is going anywhere soon. I'm still mad at PhotoBucket, and ready for them to kick the bucket. We're talking about hundreds of posts on various motorcycle forums... all toast now, with just my blathering text and now a silly PhotoBucket icon (where my pics were in the threads) demanding payment to 'unlock' them. No advance warning, just out of the blue... "This is a stick-up" Hands up! oh, and give us $60 per year ransom, until you're dead. BLIGHT
  13. May be Google Photos? (formerly Picasa).... they backup every photo to their cloud that I take with my phone immediately, and I can look at them on any computer or phone and attach them in emails after logging in. Kind of nice, as I'm not so prone to back up, transfer or download photos from the phone on a minute by minute basis. I need to figure out how to use the 'IMG' hosting in Google Photos. They say it's possible but takes a couple of steps. BLIGHT
  14. Pitiful... this could be the end of their 'service' eventually. I will eventually go in and delete all of the photos I uploaded and cancel the 'free' account. I'll send them a descriptive email as well telling them why I left, as will thousands of other users that were subject to viewing the constant barrage of ads. The ad revenue will dry up with less 'clicks' and they will be history.

  20. OK... PhotoBucket STINKS! They are now FIRED as my image hosting service because they are demanding a ransom subscription service to continue. Sixty dollars a year. Go back and look at previous posts in this thread and you'll see a bunch of stinking icons demanding a paid subscription. Total BS... AS IF their crappy intrusive ads are not enough to keep them going. The nice thing about the internet is the competition, and they just got beat! I'm gonna do a test post of the 'Dali' final dash shot using my personal cloud server (yep... sigh... I'm just like Hillary!) We'll see if it works, but I don't know if I'm still able to edit my older posts and change to new photo links? The worst part is I used them for hosting images for several years on multiple forums.... all the pics are dead thanks to these worms! Not so cheers, BLIGHT

  22. The internet can be a challenge.... just one word change in a search can either get you a result or nothing at all. I got mine from 'Zoro' selling on ebay... Remember, I just re-tapped the M10 hole to a 1.25mm pitch. I don't normally go around retapping coarser-threaded holes, but after tapping the thread looked perfect visually, and the Honda screw went in beautifully, and snugged right up to make the connection. It does not need to be liquid-tight at the threads, as the copper crush washers do all the fluid sealing. If retapping a threaded hole bugs you, if you look around, you might find one of these rod-ends with an M8 tapped hole that you can drill out and tap to M10 x 1.00mm, to use a Guzzi/Brembo banjo bolt. Just make sure there is enough material around for the larger bolt. I would have made my own adapter but I no longer have a mill to make the flat spots on a piece of aluminum billet bar stock.   25. I think it would be a minimum 1/2" raise the tubes to use the WoodCraft... I had already raised mine 3/4" (the width of a piece of masking tape that I used for reference) to sharpen the lazy steering a bit, and I like the improvement... There are folks that may not like the idea, but I do it regularly on all of my 'builds' and it helps wake up the handling, and also gives a lower center of gravity, and a tad more weight on the front, which the Guzzi can use. I now have about 1/4" 'surplus' tube above the WoodCrafts, and If I wasn't so lazy and/or tired I'd go out and measure the clamp heights for comparison. If you really want the measurements, I can do it... but I'd say 1/2" raise would be adequate for a full clamp area. The rather pricey WoodCrafts (made in USA yay!) are a pretty good rise, net of about 2" because the OEM ones on my year are mounted above the upper triple, and had about a 1/2" rise by eyeball. The difference in comfort besides being taller is you can change the rotation angle because there is no locating screw. I guess you could remove those screws on the OEM bars and be perfectly safe, but they are there for safety. The OEM bars use one large screw per bar for the clamping, where the Woodcraft uses four smaller screws per clamp. Because the bars are higher, even pulled way back the end-weights will not hit the tank. If you want to rotate the bars forward, that's possible too, for a 'flatter' bar angle. I actually used the OEM Guzzi 7/8" forged bars, grips, and end-weights, and just inserted them into the taller WoodCraft clamps. Saves a lot of fiddling with switches, levers, mirrors, grip-swapping, etc. Easy peasy! Well, except for the DANG hoses....!! Worth doing in my opinion if you are getting older and your neck and wrists are hurting. Riding should be fun and not a 'poseur' event for style.... being comfy will make it a lot more fun, and you'll ride longer, and more often. BLIGHT
