Yes received and change in process but will be a while before I test the mod...maybe a couple of months :-(

Following this. I am going to do the Meinolf's map change soon. I already have a 3k stumble that I was hoping this map would solve. This would be including the full tune process as documented in this forum. Valves already complete. Cafe sport with cored stock pipes and front crossover removed. Sounds like the V11 IAW 15M ECU Titanium might improve things..........sorry I could not answer your questions or have any input.

Yep after reading how hard this job is, I borrowed a mates slide puller that just had an "L" shaped hook on the end. Job done in what may have been less than 30 seconds.

Yep definitely winter now!. Guzzi work continues. At 65000 kms I am pulling the ohlins rear shock for its first service. Why not since everything else around it is on the bench. I think it just makes me happy about not pulling the swingarm bearings yet............. The St4s is a fine machine. Highly underrated is the ST series from Ducati.

Been a while and yes totally agree. This does not mean I was an idiot in the first instance! I will start a thread on my V11 experience. (first guzzi and rebuild journey). My biggest problem is that I have put a lot of work into the bike with plenty of tasks yet to complete before I get to ride the bike again so miss the engagement i felt when i purchased the bike. Anyhow i have a heap of pics to contribute to a thread that may help others so will do as you recommend Doc and start my own thread with its own topic. Not planning to have the work completed for a few months yet. I just have to ride the ST4s until then.

Well after all the anxiety it was very easy as posted earlier by another member. Support fitting in left hand and push back hose towards fitting while fiddling with the hose collar (again with left hand. Not hard) and pushing off. It was extremely easy......

No problem Chuck, I can wait for at least a 2-3 months might take me that long to replace the swing arm bearings and service the cush drive!

Fairly new member here. Joined a while ago but have never taken the time to look around and I am not sure I should have! I have a cafe sport that is up on the lift for a bit of maintenance. Bought it a year ago with 60k km. Now at 64. After navigating my way around here the list of required work is getting longer. So what did I do today? I drained the differential oil in preparation for removal so I can correct the drive shaft phasing and correctly grease the U joints. After reading the recent posts on this thread on clutch wear I am considering pulling the transmission to inspect mine. It has a fairly loud clatter which I am sure is the clutch when it is disengaged (clutch lever out). Makes me think something is loose in there that shouldn't be. Maybe I should have started a new thread as i managed to get a bit off topic. Youtube Link Could be a long maintenance job list. Ciao Nick

Yes I am guessing you cannot tell if this is loose until you pull the gearbox?

In the video he disconnects the fuel pump wiring and the bike still starts and runs until the fuel in the lines runs out.
-
Yeah I will have to give it a go as I am unable to start the bike Kelly. I guess going through this procedure may not make it easier but should prevent any gas squirting out from the pressure......my wife hates the smell of gas when she comes out to wash the clothes. Its a garage for F#.&** sake! Cheers Nick

No fuel tap on my bike 03 doesn't have a fuel tap??

Yes pulling everything apart it seems. In lock down. I started pulling the front to replace discs, Have one bolt I need to apply heat to and my trade flame is out of gas. Then adjusted the valves and need new gaskets. Then pulled the rear wheel to replace the disc and lube/grease everything in there. Cannot get any supplies while in lock down so keep going with other jobs. So now pulling the swing arm and check shock pivots etc. Even thinking of replacing the clutch while I have everything apart. It has 64000kms on the clock and has a clutch "clatter" sitting their at idle. Its not the normal noise I hear on other V11's but it works fine. Maybe that's another search of the forum to determine what it could be.

Yes you are correct. The painted lines are 90- degrees out approximately, not the yokes which means the painted lines are out anyway. You cannot see the other paint mark which is on the RH side of the shaft.
-
With regard to the frustrating fittings. I found a you tube clip that disconnected the wiring to the fuel pump first then running the bike to remove the fuel in the line and also the pressure that would prevent or make it hard to remove the fittings. Once this was completed the fittings came apart easily. Might work...but I need to disconnect with the motor unable to run due to other maintenance ......

Keen for two if you can post to NZ. If not thats ok. Will email you :-) Just PM'd instead..

Interesting thread. I have my rear wheel off, also planning to pull the swing arm to properly grease the drive shaft, check shock linkages etc. Bike has 64000kms now. The paint lines are approximately 90 degrees out and the driveshaft yokes are definitely out of alignment. . I have only had the bike for a year and never dug in here before. Bike rides fine and there is no play in the u joint or join to the differential.

Hi all, Seen a bit on the forum about the knobs breaking etc and some solutions. With mine the screw has disappeared. Knob is in good condition and the brass piece inside is all intact. Just need a screw but do not know the size of the thread or length. I know you can buy the knob complete from MG cycle but the freight content would be equal to 1000 screws! Doe anyone know the screw thread detail? Cheers, Nick
