Moto Guzzi V100 Sport Tourer: water cooled, 120 HP (26th of August 2021)

Daytona? At least that was built for a purpose. The Centauro is a bit of a mixed bag. The engine is the only thing I like about mine. The V11 is beautiful. -

Yeah, I wished they were the ones to take over Norton. I still want a 1200 4cyl Daytona… -

That’s why I live in America… my home turf went to hell in a hand basket. Looks I made it just in time to see this country do the same. -

I think the single sided swingarm is purely eye candy and its a bit a sideways step backwards IMO. The shock placement is not meant for that sporty a ride either… -

Water cooling allows for more compression, ignition advance..plus electronic engine management is highly sophisticated nowadays. With knowing that the engine is thermally stable via water cooling.. they can tune the ever livin crap out of it. -

They could have incorporated the radiator into the fairing instead of a big black square.. -

Considering Harley just released a water cooled bike in a similar vain, it seems like Guzzi is following instead of leading! I do like the swingarm.. that’s a nice touch. Maybe it’s just me, but all these screens and electronics don’t need to be on a motorcycle. You think in 20-30 years time there will a forum dedicated to trying to fix those long out of production and unobtainable parts? People are paying many multiple of thousands to replace ECM’s on 360 Ferrari’s as they are not serviceable. I’ve grown weary of this disposable wave of the future. Just in the last week I had to send the circuit board from my dyer to a specialist to have it repaired. Both my GPS units were also sent in for repair. Now I find out Sunfire is out of business and the subwoofers I have are now very expensive door stops as they are no longer repairing anything. So if you have any working Sunfire speakers etc.. now is the time to get rid of it… I’ll be busy listing my crap on eBay this weekend… I’ll stick to older stuff thank you! -

This really should have been a LeMans… not a warmed over 85t imo… Somebody needs to get fired at the Eagle and bring someone in that can harness the legacy and create real Guzzi’s….. I’m super underwhelmed -
I don’t think so, I bought a whole tail w/cowl and that was off a 2003? The reason I suggested unpainted was so you can have it perfectly color matched to what you have on the bike now. Maybe a pre painted one would match but who knows? I remember seeing a cowl on eBay a couple three months back with a hole cut in the middle of it. You might also consider looking for a complete tail w/ cowl like I did for the money they want just for a piece of plastic. At least that way you have a spare. Parts are getting thin…..

I’ve seen that one for sale.. it’s pretty! if you can’t find a used one (they are very hard to source) here’s a link to a NOS one: https://www.stein-dinse.biz/product_info.php?language=en&products_id=64989 The money all manufacturers charge for plastic grinds my ass but that’s the game. Congratulations and welcome to a rather distinguished club

I didn’t intend to post a anti-progress manifesto. It just tweaks me to see the blatant hypocrisy. Electric vehicles were tried and abandoned 100+ years ago. The same problems that caused its failure then are the same problems today. Henry Ford developed car bodies using hemp and also engines that ran on it. Totally renewable energy source and the bodies were rust proof and durable. See how that turned out…. The ecological damage batteries cause not only in the extraction of the rare earth minerals, but also in the fact that they are not readily recyclable makes me think it isn’t for “saving the earth” The same issue that plagues wind turbines. Read up on the graveyards of those monstrosity’s. Diesel engines are highly efficient (I can personally attest to that) clean burning and can also run on renewable energy (as that was the reason they were invented) -

“Progress” in the sense of big, soulless corporations using the contrived “climate” excuse falls flat on the people who critically think and have a healthy knowledge of history. ICE will always be available to the monied class imo. While the rank and file will struggle with maintaining ever diminishing quality of life. Idiots can’t even keep the power on during a bad rain storm (Texas)…. Now imagine your electric car, plugged into the matrix as it wer e..taxed by the mile, rendered inoperative for any infraction by some bureaucracy. Tracked and monitored (for the children) yeah… anyone see the movie “The Last Race”? It’s worth watching to see how this has been foretold decades ago… -
Finally got the Flagship out today and promptly burned up my rear caliper. I’m assuming a piston was sticking. Been riding the ‘10 all this time and I wondered why it seemed sluggish and down on power. Aborted the ride and when I got home the bad news was easy to spot. Hmmm….. I ordered (2) Rear Brembo Caliper Rebuild Kits one for now, and one for posterity as these might be hard to source in the future. Then a bunch of other stuff from https://www.egpartspros.com/ Gold Rear brake disc, Stop switch, Gasket, Rear Pads, Disk Screws, Brake caliper Cover, Circlip, O-ring, Ball bearings That should be a pretty decent rear brake overhaul….

Anytime you can upgrade something and keep it factory appearing is always a classy touch! That looks and works excellent!

I picked up a factory black guard to replace the one I spray painted black and didn’t really look very nice. Otherwise she’s still hiding away…

Just brought her to the Vet for a weight check so they can prescribe the correct amount of her heart worm/flea/tick and something else pill. She’s 54.7 lbs and will be 8 months old next week. I’ve been feeding her a raw diet from Darwin’s. Chicken/Lamb/Duck/Turkey/Beef. She’s chomping down on average 2lbs a day. Works out pretty nice. I pull 6 packs out (each pack is 2lbs split into 4 individual packages) Radom selection, toss it all in the ice chest and by the end of the week it’s almost finished. I always plan for an extra day out. Makes it pretty easy and convenient, she’s always getting fresh just opened food and never any leftovers. Never tried this kind of food and it’s certainly not a cost effective choice. Runs about $120 a week at this level of consumption. She’s super healthy and very strong. Oh, I also get a few packages of raw Peking Duck Necks for treats. Nothing more satisfying for the pup then to crunch on some neck bone…. -

Agree ☝️ stainless steel zip ties can also help keep lines in place.

I have one... they are pretty neat. @docccan tell us about them too!

That just happened to me last week. Dude was backing into a parking spot next to me and hit my truck. Thankfully it was right on the bumper that another goofball hit last summer. We talked and a few minutes later he handed me $450. About half what a blind mount Texas bumper goes for and fair imo
