    Brand-new Scura

Welcome in the club… Had mine in twice for re-painting (warranty). I still see red pork chops, Scud, thought you were going all in on the dark/Scura side??
  3. Proper job, Lemans - well done, mate. Enjoy your pristine Guzzi, it looks better now than when it left the gates in Mandello.

    Brand-new Scura

Welcome in the club of darkness, Scud Think you are tuned in ref. clutch hiccups, bubbling engine paint et al, but beside that it's a fan-fooking-tastic great bike. Not that I'm biased… If you want it 'scura-er' then repaint the pork chops, did it on mine and it's as black as it can be now. Happy riding! Søren
  6. Nope, I run Mistrals and x-over on my Scura and it's a straight forward job. Don't forget to Dyno your bike afterwards, a PC-V is recommended when you start fiddling with the zorst. Happy riding! Søren
  7. You're going the Scura way with those shine CF bits, Kostarika, and how can I can disagree) Also have the Roper plate, so roll on Spring. Pissing down here as always but Spring is lurking around the corner, they say. Have a great weekend and good luck with your bike. Cheers Søren
  8. Love that Daytona of yours, Paul - really make me wet myself. Nice!
  9. My caps are oxidized as well but I give them a good scrub and a splash of black paint now and then. Works for me. Have you tried Gutsibits (http://www.gutsibits.co.uk/pr/Home/index.php) or Reboot (http://www.rebootguzzispares.com/index.html?mainframe.htm&2)? They won't have fancy anodized caps but maybe a good second hand cap. Worth a try. Guzzirider works for Gutsibits so PM him or check their homepage. Cheers Søren
  10. Wrote Dymag regarding three spoke wheels for my Scura but hey never replied. Same happened when I wrote HPS in UK (http://www.bikehps.com), so I'm also heading the PVM way now. Pity, I would die for a pair of Dymags but if they treat potential customers like shite they don't deserve my/your money. DÂS/GB is the way ahead IMO.
  11. Smoked bacon, not rotten, thank you! ;-) I know, haven't been loyal and faithful to this pristine site thanks to too much work and what have you. Sorry! BFG is busy arranging all kinds of carnivals in the UK (true), hence his absence here. Scura time now, battery has been charged, sun is shining so time for first spin this year. Yeeehah!
  12. I bought a pair of BrakeTech rotors for my Scura (front) so give them a try - they are very professional in business and I can only recommend their work. See http://www.braketech.com And yes, that rear wheel is a real fatty, my god it's bulk heavy…. Cheers Søren
  13. Run Mistrals on my Scura and they are good (and loud). Have had no issues with build quality so I can highly recommend them. Agostini sells them.
  14. Beer train? Sounds like the perfect venue for a 2014 meeting…..
  15. Any beer from Belgium will do the trick. Lived there for three years and I tried to drink my way through all the god knows how many brands they have. Mission impossible. Try the Trappiste beers (made by monks), they are strong as f*** and make you go blind. Been there…. Slainthe, skol, prost, servus, salut, cheers, santé - the list is endless. And what a wonderful topic to talk about here during silly season :-) Søren
  16. I also have a Duc PC III on my Scura and it has done the trick so far. Had the bike mapped and dynoed, so no false flats around 3K RPM anymore. Cheers Søren
  17. Howdy, if you are talking broken pawl spring there a thead on the FAQ. BFG has posted a roadside repair DIY which is ace. Have suffered from broken pawl spring twice so I know how it feels to bimble home in 2. or 4 gear respectively... The thread is here http://www.v11lemans.com/forums/index.php?showtopic=16872&do=findComment&comment=180745 Cheers Søren
  18. Great singer, unquestionably. RIP http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fA51wyl-9IE
  19. Sorry, GS - still can't upload pics the old way (see other thrad ref. that) but I can assure you they look good
  20. And here is a couple of picks of my Scura with BrakeTech rotorshttps://www.facebook.com/photo.php?fbid=10150873414865798&set=a.10150873409305798.434457.738485797&type=3&theater
  21. Thanks, Fred - just got back from one week in splendid, sunny Ischia, Italy. Have to go on a detox now thanks to a 3 gallon daily wine consumption, burp... My problem is I won't leave my bike at TTS for a year, that's a no-no. Guzzirider very generously offered to take Ms. Guzzirider's V11 up to TTS but I know John is a man that works at his own pace. Have tried other tank makers in Germany but they all need the bike as a mock-up. Cutting a template is not an option; chances are way too big that Mr. Clumsy (me) haven't been accurate enough when measuring. Just noted a new company, Kaffee Maschine in Hamburg, Germany, and they are worth a try. Hamburg is just some 3 hours down the road so I see a winter project coming up :-) Check out their homepage: http://www.kaffee-maschine.net/html/home.php ..and this is what I'm looking for: http://www.kaffee-maschine.net/html/teile_metall3.php
  22. The Tank Shop and V11 replacement aluminum tank?? Tried to contact John/TTS some years ago but at that time he didn't have a spine frame to work on. Tontis are readily available but if he has a V11 frame/mock up now pls let me know, Fred. TIA Søren
  23. New to me this band but deffo worth listening to. Love the weeping slide guitar in the beginning. Have a great Easter all you hardcore Guzzizsti - still have snow and ice here in Denmark but maybe in a week or two the roads will be clear, inshallah :-) Cheers Søren
  24. Nice one, Jaap :-) Dunno how many times I've been mistaken for being Dutch: You are from Denmark, right? That's where there the Dutch live, right? Hmm, yes and no....
  25. Echo that, fantastic place and outstanding food and wine. Once again thanks for sharing your memories of a great trip, Orson. Always a pleasure reading your trip reports Cheers Søren
