I have the original Guzzi tank bag (with logo and the whole 9 yards) and I strap it around the steering head. As Raz says make sure that the straps don't interfere with the cables. Pretty much straight forward. Cheers Søren

Not for the faint hearted..... Wonder if the band will ever make it in the States? Imagine all "parential supervision", "contains foul language" stickers and what have you on the covers..... Cheers Søren

Mal, you leaper! You infidel! How could you ("He used to be such a good lad when he was younger.....") Well, call it temporary insanity. Mal, speak up, we want to hear the story! And thanks to Ballabio Bertie for the great pics. I promised to upload my snaps from my Tour de Gallaoway but I haven't been able to do so because I couldn't find the connecting cable for the pc. Gave my sons a major bollocking for beeing a bunch of fat slaggers until I found out I had the cable in my tank bag....... Will upload tonight when I get back home, promise! Cheers Søren PS: Got a nice flat front tyre on my Scura BTW

Hmmm, are we talking Kreidler or Zündapp? Could it be a Zündapp 125/250cc from mid/late Seventies? Those rims look familiar to me but I cannot place them on the right bike! Bugger..... :-) Søren -

My lips are sealed! And so is Bertie's ARSE. Ooops, can you say that on this forum?? I'm still sitting on my floatation ring and I can still feel the wounds from Bertie's handcuffs. BTW, what's wrong with a little manlove as Jeremy Clarkson and the Top Gear guys says.... Søren da Kinky Bastaaarrrd

Orson, you set the standard for trip reps! My family and I also fancy France with its excellence roads, food and wine. Normally we travel in the south and I'm glad to see that you also found Gorges, Pont du Gard and Ardeche to your liking. Ecxellent, Monsieur Orson! :-) Cheers Søren

You can do Denmark without a ferry if you disregard the tunnel. The rally will be held in Jutland, the main body of Denmark, so it's just me who lives on the eastcoast who had to pay for the ferry from Germany to Denmark when I drove back from Ken Bridge. It's a two day ride if you head for the tunnel and then drive up through France, Belgium (stay overnight), The Netherlands, Germany and then jolly Denmark. I did it and so can anybody else. I drove 3974 kms all in all (2483 miles). It's definitely NOT cheaper to skip the boat. The tunnel alone will set you back 72£ one way plus all the money you spend on petrol, hotel/camp and what have you. Recommend that you take the ferry from Newcastle to Ijmuiden and then head for Denamark (7 hour ride) or even better take the ferry from Harwich to Esbjerg, Denmark, on the westcoast and then take the 100 mile drive up to the touring camp. You can read more about the MC Touring Camp right here Cheers Søren

Hi BFG and Jaap, Ireland sounds fine with me for 2009. We can make Denmark, the land of bacon and loose women, the 2010 nominee. BR Søren

And greetings from Denmark Made it home yesterday evening after a stop for the night somewhere in France close to the Belgium border. Bike ran like a clock except for two blown starter fuses (one at the toll booth at the tunnel and the other one on the ferrycrossing from Germany to Denmark). My cheeks were sore but I'm feeling good today. Had a bad experience though..... I had a chat with two Brits on the train from Dover to Calais. One was riding a brand new Guzzi California and the other one was on a Kawa Something which had been customised into an Indian Big Chief. They were on their way to Mandello for a 10 day trip around Bella Italia but were also planning to make a stop for the night. I asked them if I could join them which was okay. When we left the tunnel at Calais Big Chief was leading with me and Cali-man on his tail. After a couple of kms I lost Cali-Man in my rearview mirrors so Chief and I pulled over on the shoulder and waited. And waited. And waited some more. Chief took off to see if he could find him leaving me on the spot. After half an hour I decided that they had probably come up with another idea and left me astray. Sod them, I thought, I move on. I found a hotel and stopped for the night. After having shat, shaved and showered I went to the hotel bar for a night cap. Two other British motorcyclists were sitting there so we had a little chitchat about this and that. When I told them about Cali-Man and Chief they said that Cali-Man had a major crash! Turned out that he was rear-ended by a car driver! There were police cars and ambulances on the spot they said... Suffice to say I felt like a complete arse. I guess I couldn't have made any difference but I felt bloody guilty not having turned around looking for them. I don't know which state Cali-Man is in but maybe someone on the British MG Forum can come with an update? Beside that I thoroughly enjoyed the rally. Good people, good food, fantastic scenery and excellent beer. What more can you ask for? A big thanks to Guy and Helen for organising and also high five to you two and Martin Barret for all the help on my way to Scotland. I thank you all from the buttom of my black Scura heart And also thanks to Ballabio Bertie, my roomie, for another fine weekend. Do I hear wedding bells in the far distance?? I've also got a few shots but cannot find the ^&&%#" cable for the computer. Have to wait till my laddies come home. And oh, the remote controlled farting machine made me some new 'friends' at work today..... Arse! Søren
