Another Dane who couldn't afford the return ticket I suppose..... Your Danish is absolutely fine so no worries. Hilsen Søren PS: Speaking of hooters check these marmaries......
-
Did you notice the © ONDE PIK? That means 'evil @#$$#!' in Danish....... True! Søren

Hi Orson, When do you start your trip? If your ETA doesn't collide with our summer holliday trip to Lanzarote/Spain in August (04-18th) then pop in and be my guest. My wife and I have plenty of room for stray Guzzi riders. Touring in Norway and Sweden is very scenic. The roads are top class and hardly crowded compared with US standards. An absolut must in Norway is 'Trollstien' (see here). After that I recommend that you drive to Oslo (expensive but beautyful), then head for Gothenburg (nice city, really nice), drive down to Helsingborg and then take the ferry across to Helsingør (Denmark). My hometown Birkerød is half an hour down the road from the ferry in Helsingør and wifey and I have cold beers in the fridge. German border is only two and half hour away from my house, so you'll be in Germany in no time. You can always write me off-line in case you need further info. Best regards Søren

Hi Greg, no doubt that the CF altenator cover looks the tits, but how will it look after, i.e. 6 months? My alloy cover looks like shite after only 20.000 clicks. Too much gravel and dirt on Danish roads makes the cover look sinister, unfortunately. But CF sure looks dishy, so maybe I should apply for a cover as well.......what a sad plonker I am Søren

Congrats GuzzBun, that's a real stunner you have and I'm bloody jealous that I don't have a MGS parked in my garage...... Cheers Søren

Hi again, KB thanks for your help. I´ve been out today racing Barry Sheene (RIP!) style on the same roads as last time. Today´s trip went fine and there was no drama this time, thank God. I guess you´re right about scrubbing the tyres and I´ve decided to sign up for a track day very soon in order to find my and the bike´s limits. BR Søren PS: My tyres are Diablos, not Stradas.

How right you are! Damned cagers..... Citimoto: Get well soon and I do hope that the insurance company is looking your way. All the best to you and your family. BR Søren

Well that's not that bad is it? I had my Scura re-dynoed for this season and it came up with 85.6 bhp at 7600 rpm with my set-up. Unfortunately I cannot upload the dyno sheet for the time being as my beloved sons have f*** up the scanner/printer....... Søren

I rode the 020 last season and they were ok but far from impressive. A lot of you recommended the Diablos so I decided to give them a chance. As you mention I probably just need to give them more time and adapt to them. I only covered 400 km so far, but that should be enough time to break them in as far as I know. Thanks for your comments, Baldini Søren

These guys are raving mad - full stop. Boy, am I impressed about their riding skills. I remember scrolling through a Superbike mag a couple of years ago and they had an image of a guy named Ryan Farquahar (or something close to that). Is he still in business? He showed some mean lean angle when entering corners - we are talking close to 60%. The image shown on Superbike was taken at the UGP as far as I recall. Anybody know about his whereabouts? TIA Søren
-
Yup, and my wife is still complaining about skidmarks in my undies.....
-
well, having seen you floggin' your Scura around on the track overtaking (innertaking?? ) Japanese bamboo rockets I'll stand corrected Being a tight bastard I'll wear the Diablos out this season, but it won't be my preferred tyre for next season. Thanks for the offer, Antonio, but I'll keep them till next season. Thanks to all for your comments. Cheers Søren

I'll join the band and wish you a happy birthday, young man! Søren

Good one, mtiberio Søren

Ciao Antonio, thanks for the pic but it still leaves me with the question whether somebody else has experienced long warmup time for their Diablo's. Don't get me wrong, I can see this guy has driven his bike to the max regarding the tyre's performance but I'm still not sure the Diablo is the right tyre for me or not. Cheers Søren

I have now covered 350-400 kms on my new Pirelli Diablos. I'm not quite sure whether I like them or not. In the beginning they didn't give me the right confidence but I just thought I had to break them in. Today however, I took the Scura for a 3 hour ride on small b-roads North of Copenhagen. The weather was fine albeit windy and temperatures were about 13-14 celcius. In a sharp right hander I lost the rear wheel at about 60 km/h. I almost shit myself as it wasn't a small slide but close to a highsider. I went back and took the same corner at a slower speed just to check wether there was gravel and dirt on the road but there wasn't. I must emphasize that the tyres were warm but my question is - were they warm enough? Have any of you experienced the same or was I just plain (un)lucky? TIA Søren

Echo all the abovementioned. Get well soon, Rick. Cheers Søren

Oh boy how right you are..... I changed to a Philips bulb (you know, the ones with a blueish light) and it's definitely better than the stock one. It's quite cheap too - just 5-6 US $ - and they are obtainable at all gas stations. Cheers Søren

Isn't it Jason (JRT) who has a R90 flyscreen on his Goose? Jason, where are you when we need you? Yes it is. Check here Søren

Thanks for the pics + report, Staedtler! Always nice to read other member's trip reports. Nice shot of the OCC style Hardly Dangerous - a real trailer queen or was it broken down? Søren
-
Great action, Baldini! Good to see you flogging the old Scura around the bends. Yeehaah! Søren
-
I'll echo all the abovementioned. I was in Rome last year with my wife and I asked several people where I could find a Guzzi shop. The answer was always "A what shop?" I also noticed the high amount of speed tripples and Beemers + a few Ducs and not to forget the zillions of mopeds crossing through traffic. We Guzzistis are a dying breed - maybe our fossils can be found in a million years sitting astride our 'medieval motorcycles' I still like my Scura but I'm also in favour of old Jaguars, Austin Healeys and the like so who am I to tell?.... Søren

That's sad news. Please send my condolences to Christian's friends and family. RIP Søren
-
Hi Tom, Welcome onboard and congratulations with your new purchase Cheers Søren

At last! Picked up the fat lady yesterday and boy was it great! I had her re-dynoed as I wasn't satisfied with the last result and I can rally tell the difference. Ib Andersen, chief mechanic par excellence, has tweaked the PC III to deliver more grunt in the midrange and he has done a tremendous job. I haven't had the chance to scan the dyno-test but will do soon. Later Søren
