Not bad, Bestia I like raw bikes and your bike qualifies. Which fairing is it? Søren

Guzzirider, West Yorks ain't that far away from Denmark so mind your words! Bear in mind that we used to rape, plunder and pillage back in the Viking days and we still have it our genes! May the Dark be with you.... Scura-Søren

pimp my ride, TX! Hey, it's good to see you back on this thread. How's life in Texas after the hurricanes? Are you back in business or what? Heard from the other Americanos that your house got hit by Kathrina -it's nasty when nature plays hardball, not much you can do about it, unfortunately. Anyways, good to hear from from you TX and wellcome back Søren

Well, I guess I must creep out of the closet now: Yes, the Tenni is a fine looking bike (boy, that hurts!) In fact, it was my second choice - Scura was and still is numero uno. In fact I have a cast iron model of both the Scura and the Tenni in my "Guzzi Hall of Fame" at work together with stickers from various rallies, a Moto Guzzi Club Denmark coffee mug and a poster with an 1100 sport, a 750 Sport and an Eldorado. I'm not going soft on the Scura, Belfastguzzi - it's still a fabulous looking bike and my choice for life (´cause I can't afford the MGS ) Ciao Søren

Hi Noggie, I face the same problem as you do. My twin sons, 18 years old, have just passed their driving test and are also eager to find (a) suitable bike(s). The laws in Denmark states that tou can only ride a 34 bhp bike for the the first two years, which mean that they are also scrolling the market for available bikes. My boys are pretty tall; they stand 6´4 and 6´5 above sea level, which means they look like hobbits on a 125cc or a 250 cc bike. In fact they are both able to drive around on my Scura without any probs at all. Back to subject: what should they buy? To be honest, I don't know. You can get special restriction kits for the most popular Jap bikes and even for the Duc 620 Monster, which may be an option. It's an okay bike sizewise and it won't let them down when they turn 20 and can bring the bike back to normal standards. I'm also keen to hear your opinions ref. bikes for toddlers, so keep the info flowing, dudes! TIA Søren PS: I forgot to mention bikes have to be black, Nogbad!

Don't give up your daytime job, Maxiboy......

Baldini, is that a Norton seat you have mounted? Resembles the old Norton Commando or is it just me? Looks cool! Søren

Right you are, Carl - that's a fine piece. I have set eyes on a similiar model here in Copenhagen. It's a 1993 model (I think) with less than 5.000 kms on the clock. Unfortunately the bike comes with a price tag close the same price as a new Scura, so he can keep it till the price comes further down! I really love the look of the 4V engine, looks brutal and evil. Big J, Jason hits it spot on: Sandblasting is effective but you must be EXTREMELY careful when you put the parts together. Tiny sand particles can ruin the entire engine. These words come from a man who didn't clean his engine cases properly and had to pay beaucoup $ to have it fixed. It was back in my Harley days but it still bothers me that I didn't clean the bl**** thing properly before assembling. There's a couple of pictures on the "gallery" showing an engine that has been paint stripped and it looks pretty cool IMHO: see here and here Cheers Søren

Just checked the Firestarter homepage and found this little cutie: Very innovative I must say, i.e. spokes, head and rear light und so weiter See more here: Søren

What's wrong with living on an island? Scared of fish? San Antonio is a very nice place. I spent a week there a couple of years ago. Also went to Houston - "Don't mess with Texas".... I had the largest steak in my life at the River Walk down at the Alamo, but you guys should leave winemaking to the Califonians....Tasted like recycled horse piss Søren

Oops, wellcome amongst the Bros of Darkness, Jaap! (brown nosing? me? Noooo....) Stay away from the Slimeys aka Tennistis, you saw the light when you painted your bike black! Hail the dark side...... Søren

Yeah, who cares nowadays with open borders in Europe?

Fritz Egli is the man and he's from Switzerland. He was 'world famous' in Europe in the Seventies/Eighties when the Japanese factories hadn't yet figured out how to build a strong and solid frame. I remember ol' Fritz made a turbo charged Kawa 1000....man, that bike was soooo cooool! He even made frames for Ducatis! Fritz Egli has a crush for ol' Vincents, which you can see here: How about this cutie? The Egli company is till alive and young Fritz (dunno his name) has taken over buisiness. Søren

Tasty! Otherwise check out Huite's Daytona on Poul Minnaert's homepage: Now that's a sweet bike.... Søren

Nogbad and Belfastguzzi, you really made my day I've been laughing for the last five minutes reading this thread. Nothing better than giving a lot of stick. Thanks! PS: Nogbad, give up - you don't have a chance against BFG and the motley Scura crew!

It's strange how MGNA reacts compared to how the warranty jobs were handled here in Denmark. When the engine paint on my Scura started to bubble I called my dealer here in Copenhagen who then got hold of the Scandinavian importer. They took immediate action and I had the engine cases blasted an repainted free of charge. (I had it done in the winter season when my wheels were hung up anyway) I would never ever take, i.e. a pair of saddle bags or a tank bag as a freebie offer to shut up the customer. Luigi and his friends have FU'ed the engine paint and the company will have to correct this flaw. It's sad that they try to stall this process instead of taking corrective actions - as far as I remember nothing beats a happy customer but who am I to tell.... enough ranting, just got upset reading this thread. Søren

Get off our thread, you green infidels! And yes, we Scuristis do it in the dark... Søren PS: Nope, rottweilers don't have black armpits - just checked Herman the German's (see avatar) PPS: It's coffee time now.

Hi Staedtler, just found my house on Google Earth. Strange to see it from that angle... Resolution wasn't that sharp but heck, it's better than nothing. Thanks for the tip! Søren

Wellcome in the club of broken pawl springs, Gallo Se At least you managed to cover more than 2000 kms, which was the time my spring went south.... Good luck with the recovery. Cheers Søren

Good job, Belfastguzzi! Scuras rock! We've seen enough of those Tennistis at 'our' Scura thread, so this should keep them at bay. Søren

Hi Gil, Sorry to hear about all your troubles regarding spareparts. Speaking of trustwothy suppliers I can only echo what has been said about Duilo Agostini: They are very reliable, know Guzzis inside out and they have loads of spareparts. I ordered my Mistral cans, x-over, K&N filter and a paddock stand from them and it took no longer than 4 days. On top of that they gave me a tracking number so I could follow my goods. Highly recommendable! At the Nordic Guzzi Meeting here in Denmark Alis (that's Alis, not Alice) Agostini was rewarded Honourable Member of DK Moto Guzzi Club, which just shows how much the Agostinis are appreciated here in Europe. That aside Gil, I have sent you the windscreen as promised. It should be in California late this week (hopefully). Good luck and try the Agostinis, you won't be disappointed. Cheers Søren
