Seems it never rains in Southern California........ Back here in Scandinavia it's raining cats and dogs and we got bloody leaves all over the roads. Great bikes, great pics and great weather - what more can you ask for? Thanks for sharing Søren

John, I'm real sorry to hear about all your troubles. Hell, I thought this clutch thing was a one off, but unfortunately not. My Scura is in for 20K maintenance and I will defintely ask the mechanic to check the clutch. Sadly you were the one that brought it to my attention and have to pay the price. Good luck recovering the bike from Spain. Cheers Søren

Scura Bros of Darkness, we stand united! Let all the others flash their bikes in their own threads, we Scuristis fly above them all! Amen Søren

Quiz 2 new season

Austrian KTM by any chance?? Søren -
Hi Staedtler, Yeah, those guys at www.wulffmorgenthaler.com are sick, real sick! They run a tv-show here in Denmark and one of the main characters is Dolph the Facist Hippo, who hates immigrants, soul music, snotty kids and so on. His real heroes are Jean Claude van Damme (The Muscles from Bruxelles), Steven Seagal, Chuck Norris and at last but not least: Helmut Lotti!! Helmut is a Belgian crooner and his primary fans are all women age 50 (+)....say no more! Check ol' Lotti boy here: You're warned! This is absolutely rubbish! Enjoy your weekend Søren

That's a coooool looking bike, André! Nice job, mate Søren

I'm working Mon-Fri from 0730 - 16-ish and I commute approximately 100 km a day on the Scura. Unfortunately Father Frost has announced his arrival and for the last couple of mornings temperatures have been as low as 0 degrees Celcius. I live in a forrest area and the roads are covered with leaves, so it's a dangerous cocktail. In other words I'm going to hang up my wheels for this season very soon and fire up the ol' Ford Escort 1.1 from 1985..... Søren

Congrats V50 man! It sure ain't no but it's a sweet ride. Saw one the other day on the freeway 'round Copenhagen and it had a coooool sound. Good luck with your new baby and as Keith said, 'don't Enzo us!' Søren

Søren PS: Looks like some dirt track racer from way back but I havne't got a clue about year nor model -
Hi Bill, Glad to hear I'm not the only cyclopath on this site I've been down the same road as you (not litterally) - nothing worse than a bunch gallop with brainless riders (incl. yours truly) who all wanted to take the trophy. I still have some 'memories' on my legs and elbows after several crashes but in those days we were told by our trainer that we were not 'real' riders unless we had a handful of scars on our knees...... Ride on and stay on the road! Søren

Welcome onboard! Søren, Scura #580 in Denmark

Hej med dig! I bought a set of Mistrals from Agostini and it took less than 4 days from ordering until the parcel arrived. Try the Agostinis - they are very professional in business and I can highly reccommend them: Agostini link Ha det! Søren

Great images, Jihem! Looks like you had a great time. Southern France is one of the best places for cornering and I would give my left testicle (I had a vasectomy when I was 25 so who cares? ) for taking my Scura there right now. Autumn is coming very soon, the leaves are all over the roads and it's getting colder and colder every day so looking at your pics really made my day! Thanks! Søren PS: And that goes to Jean Marc too, of course

Hi Mike, Sorry to hear about your crash and fractured pelvis. I broke mine in 2001 back in my heydays as a competitive bicycle racer and I still have some difficulties doing my shoelaces, getting up from the sofa and the like. It's not that I have a 40 lbs beer belly or my arms are too short, it's just the phantom pain that strikes now and then. It's like a flash from the hip all the way down to the toes and it really wakes you up! My doctor said that it is the nerves that are trying to reconnect (I had several tendons torn as well as keyhole surgery in my left knee....) and it may take up to 7-8 years before it stops. At least I only have 4 years to go, so I'm looking at the bright side of life As for rehabilitation training I spent 6 months doing physio training twice a week + whatever training I could do at home. I live up in a forrest area and I was dying to walk the the dog. The problem was that Herman the German is a 56 kg beast and I didn't dare taking the risk. Can you imagine what would happen if he met one of his favourite rivals and yours truly was staggering along with my two canes? Neither could I.... To cut a long story short I can't run anymore and I gave up bicycling as well. I may take biking up again but it's not the same when you have covered so many kms as I used to do (17000-18000 kms a year). I know it's a psychological threashold I have to pass but right now I just don't care about bicycling any more. All the best to you and I do hope that you're up and running and back in the saddle soon. best wishes Søren

That looks swell, I'll agree. Something for the winter, Jan? Søren

Honda "Fitta" is called Honda "Jazz" in Sweden (and Norway) because "fitta" is not word you want to use in a marketing unless you are a pimp 59670[/snapback] yup, that's not the right name for a bike in Sweden, trust me! (and Göran) Søren

Cut the rock in half and let's have a party instead, allright? We bring the Scandinavian blondes and you get the beer + booze.

Sounds like a starting point for me - I'm pretty pi.... about changing fuses every other day. Thanks Timnic Søren

The Scura is the bike for me - love the matt black finish which looks great with the Öhlins. The bikini fairing didn't do me any good as I'm a lanky chap. After mounting the V11 LeMans fairing she looks better than ever IMO. As for the new models I'm kinda fallen in love with the Breva 1100. I'm trying to persuade my wife to buy one for herself (...and maybe I could take it for an occassional spin ). The Griso also looks great but I don't really have a need for a citybike/Monster-look-alike. Then rather go for the full monty and get a Monster 1000 Dark. And then we have the MGS... This is how a future V11 should look like. I really fancy the 4-valve engine albeit I haven't tried one yet. Smooth looking Søren

Another 'happy' customer here - I've gone through 20 (that's T W E N T Y) 15 amp fuses over the last 6 months! I have small plastic bag in my tool pouch loaded with them little buggers. I've checked the battery connections, starter engine, wiggled all the relays but still she has her own mind. When I hang up the wheels for this season my mechanic will give the elecrical bits a complete overhaul. She's still under warranty and I'm going to take full advantage of that for sure. I've been in the same situation as Martin. It's bloody annoying when you're all dressed up and ready to go and then she don't give a toss. Any suggestions, solutions or ideas are highly appreciated. Thanks! Søren PS: Good story Martin, sounds like an average morning for me, too.

Promises, promises..... Bear in mind that we used to rape, plunder and pillage way back in the Viking days! If you see a bunch of long bearded Norsemen in a longboat then run for your lives, you infidels! I'll persuade the remainder of Scandinavians on this site to team up against, you savages! Heck, I'll bribe anybody to team up against you! Be afraid, be very afraid...... Søren Bluetooth

Cheating bastard! I noticed straight away the license plate was British and the current owner was from US of A. Wonder what the poor buyer eventually will get.....? Søren

Hi Goose, otherwise try Louis.de. It's a German company with a very good reputation. The clear linse indicators you're looking for are up for 15 Euros ea so that won't make you go bankrupt. Søren

My old las' (she's 42) is really keen on buying the Breva 1100. Guess that makes me a semi old fart... (also 42) Søren
