Hi guys, thanks to you all - the MG Cycle #9 looks like the one that I need. I'll drop them a line. Thanks Steve, Ramon and Jason Søren

Hi Txrider, I'm looking for a total new oil dipstick to replace that piece of plastic s... that the company is providing Are you aware of any other options? I would favour a metal dipstick preferably with a slightly longer knob/handle or whatever you call it. The plastic model is hard to put back in place after oil inspection. Thanks in advance. Cheers Søren

Hi again, They hauled the engine out and fixed the broken pawl spring as far as I recall. And yes, it was a bloody long trip. The "funny" part was when I had to pay at the toll booth - I was reving for Denmark in order to pull away Søren
-
Hi Baldini, Nope, that wasn't a recall. I was heading home after the annual DK Guzzi meeting in 2004 when the bike decided to call it a day. It was stuck(ed??) in 4th gear but I managed to drive the 300 km trip back to home. I called my dealer the following day and had the tranny done in a week or so by the DK importer. This was free of charge, of course. As I'm the only Scura owner in Denmark and V11's in general are very rare I don't remember seeing any recall from the dealer. Pretty sad, actually, but see no evil, hear no evil, I suppose. Best regards Søren

And here's another happy costumer. The "Edge Guard" fits like a glove and does the job. I've road tested it for the last couple of days and the weather has been piss poor with heavy rain and gail winds (just love the Danish summer..... ) Thanks for a job well done and I can only recommend all you guys to get the "Edge Guard", better soon than never. Søren

Hi Richard, good to hear that you got away without any injuries. Bear in mind that all cagers are poteential killers! Søren PS: Richard, I'm still awaiting that tlittle "something" for you but I was told yesterday that it will land on my desk "early next week", allright?

That was one hell of a race. Haven't seen Max Biaggi in such a good mood since waaaaay back Pity though that Sete crashed and left Vale with such a massive lead. There's no way in hell Sete will ever recover that gap. Marco Melandri however, looks like an upcoming star. He has balls, he doesn't give a toss whether it's Max, Loris or Vale - he just puts the hammer down. Respect! Søren
-
Hi Nogbad, Nope, but the sooner the better. I've been down the same road as you so I know exactly how you feel. All fingers crossed for you, mate Cheers Søren
-
Mike, keep us posted on the 1100S. I'm madly in love with the 1000S and one day I'll rob a bank and buy one! Cheers Søren PS; Jan Biesel: When are you gonna sell your 1000S? Don't look further than across the German/Dans border, mate.....

dare to be different - isn't that what we all are striving for? The reason why I aimed for the V11 instead of a bamboo rocket was that I wanted something different. I can't stand when you're parked at the local favourite hang out place and everybody is riding the same bloody model. A Guzzi, especially a V11, is a rare bird in Denmark and the day the company starts to launch a Le Mans perfume, Guzzi rubbers or the like I'll sell my bike and buy a MZ on the spot! Grrr... Søren PS: Love the KTM - a different bike with balls to match.

Hello again, thanks for stepping in, Belfastguzzi Yup, I had my tranny done and haven't had any transmission probs since. Right now it's leaking oil from the left cylinder so it's back to the dealer/importer again, hoo-f......-rah I assume they didn't tighten the bolts correctly when they did the engine case repaint job. Sure glad she's still under warranty and since I travel a lot I can have the maintenance done when I'm away, but it's also bloody annoying that she has all these minor flaws. Another flaw is the starter engine which keeps blowing the 15 amp fuse. I think I've gone through 8-10 fuses within the last month so that's another issue my importer has to look into. The funny part is that it isn't my dealer who will do the maintenance job but the DK importer as we are talking about a warranty job. This means that they have to send/ship my bike across the country which means another 2-3 days delay. That aside I still love the beast. When I look at her I get a big smile on my face and I can't really imagine having another bike. Call me a perv but I can't help it Cheers Søren

"Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday to you, Happy Birthday dear Carl, Happy Birthday to you" Sorry, been away for a couple of days. It's the 15 amp fuse for the ignition that's FU every now and then. Actually it did it yesterday morning when I was about to leave for work. Gotta have a look at the wiring system and the starter engine as it's probably just a loose ground cable or something else like that. Speaking of eating hotdogs in Helsingør I actually had two last weekend! Are you somehow telepatic or what? We were 15 Guzzis from Guzzi Club Denmark, one guy on a Laverda 750 SF and a couple of blokes riding 4 cylinders from the land of the rising sun, who did a 300 km Sunday trip. At the hotdog stand in Helsingør we found the usual gang of drunken Swedes, who were waiting for the ferry home. One of them sat on a bench fast asleep with his Carlsberg Elephant beer (7.5% vol) in his hand and an open pizza box in his lap. One of the seagulls couldn't resist the temptation, did a kamikaze attack and flew off with a slice. Two split seconds later all sparrows, doves, bald eagles, oistriches and what have you went for the remainder of the pizza....what a sight! And did the drunken bastard wake up? No way, José. If you ever come across the Pond please give me a buzz and I'll feed you all the hotdogs you can eat! Best regards Søren

Hi Carl, My Scura has blown fuses in the last couple of days but it's the ignition that's playing tricks with me. Luckily I have a handful of 15 amps fuses in my tool pouch but it's a pain in the arse to be the laugh of the day at work when I have to change fuses as everybody else is driving home. Has anybody else experienced this or is it just me who has to live with this? The problem didn't occur when I rode the standard setup. Could it be the PC III? Thanks in advance Søren

Hi n_s-S, I stood outside the local supermarket today when a geezer approached me saying "this is how a real motorcycle should look like" and "you don't see many Guzzis nowadays" and boy, is he right Søren

Ouch! Sure glad that the old Gooser has a steel frame. Holy smoke....... Søren

..which looks so much better than the black wrinkle sh..e we 02 owners have to live with. Søren

Hi Guy, So far so good. There's a good grip and I haven't shit my undies when driving in the rain.... And yes, my Scura is still rocksteady at any speed (and the Pope wears a funny hat and Dolly Parton sleeps on her back, okay??) Søren
-
Guy, My Scura is also rocksteady at any speed. I'm 6'3 and also weigh around 210 lbs (+/-) and I ride on crap roads here in Denmark. Must be the Öhlins suspension that we both have on our bikes. After my new Mistral setup I've been riding like a pig keeping the revs up where the fun starts. I actually think the more you use the bike the better it gets. The only time I felt like the bike was about to throw in the towel was in a long fast curve with an uneven surface. Furthermore my old Bridgestones (now changed for BT 014's) had seen better days so I can't really blame the Scura for that. Søren

Hi Edge, tried to email you but I got an 'email failure delivery status report' back. Could you please try to contact me as I'm in for your mudguard? Thanks in advance. Søren

Hail Yer Man! Joey was a living legend and when he passed away more than 50.000 people followed him to the grave. Talk about devotion! Besides that I saw the North West 200 on Eurosport and what a race! McGuiness, Farquahar, Rutter and the lot make Valentiono and Sete look like a pair of sissies when they thunder down the public roads. Mind you that these chaps don't race on a dedicated track. Unbelievable... Me think that Eurosport run another NW 200 program here on Wednesday evening so do yourself a favour and tune in and watch these incredible men on their incredible machines. Søren

Hi Ralph, just checked their Swedish homepage (Q&A section) and unfortunately they don't say anything about how to use the stuff other that "after thorough cleaning apply a thin layer of Imprenex in order to protect your jacket" Søren

You are absolutely ravin' mad, belfastguzzi..... Are you chewing khat or what? While we're at it how about good old Engelbert Humperding or the Welsh miner, Tom Jones? Or James Last's Party Band? Now we're talking really bad taste.... Søren

You are absolutely right. If they enter all the latest Jap crotch rockets and a Beemer in a comparison test there's no doubt that the Beemer will win. Motorrad is extremely biased towards the bikes from the Munich factory, so forget all about that magazine. If you read moto-euro.com/, however, you'll see that the bike of the month is the V11 LE MANS NERO CORSA. See what they write here: We have decided to showcase some of our favorites models here on the official Moto-Euro Magazine website, on a Monthly basis giving you the opportunity to enjoy them as much as we do. If you review this section on a Weekly basis, who knows what you'll see! "The Bike of the Month" will include everything from the latest releases from the major manufacturers to who knows, Maybe your bike? The heart of this aggressive yet fun to ride motorcycle could only be the latest version of Guzzi’s 90° V-Twin with the traditional capacity of 1,064 cc, four valves, classical pushrod and rocker arm valve timing and air cooling. Its 9.8:1 compression ratio, however, lets the cat out of the bag. This is a completely new engine, with a special balancer pipe between the two cylinders for improved breathing and more smooth power than ever before. This powerful engine is also environmentally friendly thanks to a three way catalytic converter with Lambda probe oxygen sensor to reduce emissions. A sports style ride is ensured by a chassis that includes a fully adjustable Öhlins upside down fork with TIN coated stanchions and a fully adjustable Öhlins monoshock at the rear. Sports oriented riders will also appreciate the Bitubo steering damper fitted as standard. Yup, that is a fine piece of Italian bike you have there, Jaap. Congrats for a painjob well done Nice touch, Jaap! There's just something about black bikes that I cannot really describe.... Søren

I have the Sidi Vertebra II (without ventilation) and they're very comfy for my long Goofy feet. Living in Denmark means that you get your fair share of rain on a daily basis (actually, yesterday was the first day in a month that it wasn't pi..... down). They offer very good protection for your ancles, shins and toes but they may too Kenny Roberts for some? Afterall, a Guzzi is a sportsbike, right? Cheers Søren
