If I had the dough I wouln't hesitate buying them both. That's a real bargain. Søren

Just checking, will be back soon with a reply. Søren

How the hell can you guys afford all these gadgets? Are you robbing banks in your sparetime? Must cost you a fortune but as Paul states one way to do it is to start at the local dealer finding wrecked bikes. That Alu-Sauer swing arm is soooo lovely, wonder how much it will set you back? Duc 999R, Supertwin 4 valve and a new 2006 project......

Just wait and see, Alex. My dyno results will be posted within the next week or so (+/- a week). You can see my mods on the left. Cheers Søren PS: Good choice, Ken. I hope you will be happy with the outcome

Good luck to you both, I wish I could be riding but I'll have to wait untill next week or so. I went to see my dealer and my engine had finally returned from the importer after the warranty engine repaint job. The bike will be ready and dynoed in one/two week's time or so, so I'm really looking forward to it. Oh, by the way, while the engine was pulled out of the frame I also had the pork chops glass blasted and repainted in black. It may be a bit "black-in-black" as the Scura is also matte black but I have some ideas of a new colour scheme (next season), maybe something like the Marcus Waltz Hardcore Le Mans: Stay on the road, you lucky, mc-riding bastards! Søren PS: Very nice tripple trees, Poul!

Could be a Fat Boy, but I think it's a 1800cc Gold Wing ...maybe with a trailer and a sidecar.... -

Hi Jaap, Sad to hear about your cheesehead helmet, would have liked to see the final outcome of that Enjoy your ride this afternoon; I'm getting all antsy going out myself but no chance for the next week or so. Snow and ice is melting during day, but night temperatures are below zero so it's like a skating rink outside. Søren PS: Maybe I should have a heering design on my Arai...... (Germans call Danes "fishheads" and the Dutch for "cheeseheads")

Good point, Hubert. I tried the hose trick once and it worked (on one of my previous Jap bikes). Søren

"Good evening, Dublin. Here are the results from the Danish jury:" 1. V11 Le Mans Scura (for obvious reasons) 2. Laverda 750 SFC (breathtaking beautyful) 3. Ducati 900 SS (slick and slender) 4. Ducati 888 (first real superbike from the Bologna boys) 5. Laverda 1000 Jota (all muscles; looks like a bike should look like) 6. MV Agusta 800 SS (saw one as a kid and I'll never forget the sound) 7. Norton Commando 850 Roadster (best built British bike IMO, real pukka) 8. HD FLH Electra Glide (1966, Early Shovelhead engine. Used to have one myself) 9. Honda VTR RC51 (a big brute with crappy fuel consumption, but the looks..) 10. Benelli Tornado Tre (crazy about the green/silver colour combo) As you may have noticed I'm heavily biased towards the Italian bike scene and for obvious reasons. The Eye Ties know a thing or two when it comes to designing vehicles, just think Maserati, Lamborghini, Ferrari und so weiter. Regarding the Norton and the MV I just can't seem to forget these two particular models. When I was young there was a bloke living nearby, who had a red Norton 850 Interstate and I always stood there on the spot when he fired it up. My family had a white poodle (no jokes! ) and I was always the one who had to take it for a walk in the evening. I had a fixed route: first the Honda CB 750 on that road, then the Triumph Trident on that road and so on. In this way I sort of mapped all the bikes in my area and this was also how I first spotted the MV Agusta. The FLH was the first Early Shovelhead engine (replaced the Panhead, 1948-1965) and in my opinion this is the most beautyful Harley engine ever built. The new HD V-Rod looks like shite and I find it amazing that people cough up zillion $ for that particular model. The engine may be great (designed by Porsche) but it looks like something the cat has created in the litterbox (I'm sorry, but Danes are renowned for being very direct and tactless ) And the headline? Well, the European Song Contest is just around the corner and this is the standard remark from all European juries when they report their votes to the hosting nation. Ireland won two (three??) years in a row, so that's why. Søren PS: Still waiting for my bloody engine to return from the importer after the engine case repaint recall. Outside it's cold and rainy but the snow has finally decided to give up and started to melt. I'm getting a bit grumpy when I see you guys already riding your bikes under sunny sky and temperatures around 15-20 degrees C but as the Governator says/said: "I'll be back!"
-
Congratulations Jim - you have been a patient man but all good things come to those who wait! What are you doing this afternoon??? I suppose you won't be posting here for the next couple of weeks spending all the time nursing your ever so beautyful MGS (and it looks good, Pete!) Best regards Søren

Wonderful ! and a what a beautyful scenery. Not that I'm jealous, nooooo.....Not! Can't wait for the snow to bugger off. Aren't they spraying the roads with salt up in Huddersfield? Here in Denmark we use more salt on the roads than McDonald's use worldwide... Søren

I just bought the center stand from Agostini, coz I thought this particular model was the best. I haven't been able to try it yet as my bike is still at the importer for that f¤#%%% engine paint job. I support Paul's comment as the other models I've seen tend to be more focused on supporting the rear wheel than the center point of gravity, which the Agostini model does (see Paul's photo) Next week I'll get the bike back, eventually/presumably/hopefully and then it's dyno-time!! Søren

It's quite strange - it appears on my screen and then disappeares the next moment. Must be the Gremlins at work. It was a only a picture taken yesterday from my front door showing the current, snowy conditions we have for the time being, it's even snowing again this morninng so I don't expect to be riding until 01 April. Søren

Hi Ryan, I have a friend, who is a devoted Land Rover owner. I took the liberty to forward your attached picture and my buddy wasn't utterly impressed (guess there must be something about it....) Søren

Hey again Jan, That was my punch line:
-
Yep, I'll echo that As said previously I wish I had the skills to make such a fine piece of work, but no... Søren
-
Nope, they were quite big in Denmark during my teeneage years (seventies). Søren

ok, I'll behave, alright?

I told you, I am a sad plonker...... Never mind the 20 pounds layer of excessive fat around my waist, these bolts makes the Scura ballistic!
-
Tally Ho! Look what I found on the Copenhagen Bike Expo: Valve covers and license plate bolts with a MG logo... Being the sad plonker I am I just had to buy them as they were only 100,- Danish kroner (approx. 18$, 13€, 10-ish£). The covers/bolts come in alloy with a clear polycarbonate coating as used on jet fighter canopies according to the manufactorer. All kind of motives are available: car and mc logos, various flags, skulls, flames, smileys and what have you. The Guzzi ones come in red or black. Unfortunately I can only provide you an address as this company isn't on the www: PVC Produkter (as in products) Holbergsgaten 16 3933 Porsgrunn Norway email: to-ber@online.no PS: I'm trying to get a better picture uploaded but that dang computer is given me a hard time. Alright, here we go again. I had to upload the photo the my webhotel. Please check this link

Good to hear Jim! I'm looking forward to seeing your pics and I do hope that Mother Nature is behaving well in Chilliwack. Here's a view from my front door today..... "..It's beginning to look a lot like Christmas" All the best to you and keep the sticky side of the tyres down! Søren

I received the dvd from Ken this morning and have just finished watching it. It's a brilliant dvd and the outcome of the Rosso Corso vs. RSV Mille test is quite surprising (well, not for us true believers The comment about "putting Öhlin's suspension on a bike like the Rosso Corsa is like putting silicone implants on my Granny" really made my day Oh, by the way - a Rosso Corso will set you back 249.000 Danish kroner (1 US $ = 5.83 Danish kroner) which means a Rosso is about 47.700 US $...... check out the price list here Cars and bikes come with a price tag here in Denmark unfortunately. Bear in mind that we pay 180% in tax on all vehicles..... Søren PS: My engine will be returned from the importer next week (crappy engine case paint), which means it's time to have the Mistral goodies, K&N filter and PC III installed. I'll have it all dyno'ed as well and the result will be posted here ASAP.

The funny part is that Danish pastry is called Wienerbrød ("Vienna bread" as in "Bread from Vienna, Austria") in Danish. Don't know why it's called Danish in English. Suspect a Danish baker couldn't afford the return ticket back in the 17th century and chose to stay abroad. Actually I don't eat it - I find it too rich and I'm already having trouble slipping into my Kushitani leathersuit..... Who said Fat Bastard? Søren
