  1. Yup, that was a fine victory for The Doctor. The way Sete "The Mullet" Gibernau rode in Malaysia there is no chance in hell that he will win at neither Philip Island nor Valencia. Stay tuned to Eurosport next weekend Göran and Lex! Søren
  2. You can run but you can't hide Chris.... Hope you'll get it fixed soon so you can enjoy the last weeks of this biking season (It was -2 degree Celcius this morning - the second day in a row in fact. Icy roads and Guzzis are a baaad cocktail, so it's time to hang up the wheels now) Good luck! Søren
  3. Kepis Juha, How does a My16M powered Sport 1100i look like? Sounds interesting - post a picture, will ya? Cheers Søren (and no, I don't speak Finnish despite my name )

    Xenon Headlights?

Hi again, I've been corresponding with Norman Birtles from NippyNormans regarding a Xenon kit for the V11's. He sent me this thread so you can check for yourselves. The price for a kit is 249.99 UK Pound Sterling (add 7.99 for P&P). I must say I'm quite impressed with this company (and no, I'm not a shareholder and I don't get any discount )´cause service seems to be the rule of thumb. I'll definitely have a go at this kit when I hang up the wheels in a month or so. Check it out and see if you like it - it can only improve the already p... poor headlight on the V11 Cheers Søren
  5. Hi out there, I was scrolling through the September issue of Superbike and on page 22 they run an advertisement for Phillips' Vision Plus Bulbs. Phillips state that these bulbies offer a brighter (more than 50%) light, longer beam length, faster light-up on break lights and they will also make your penis grow 2 inches over night... well, disregard the latter, but for the astonishing price of 5.99 UK Pound Sterling (sorry, I have a Danish keyboard) it's worth a try ain't it? The bulbs also come in blue and other fancy options are available too. Check out this thread Has anyone tried these babies or shall I still stick to my lead dog when commuting in the early morning hours? Sayonara Søren
  6. Are we jealous? Nooooo, not at all Hi Mr. Ford, just joking. Welcome onboard and good luck with your bikes, especially the dishy Nero Corsa. Cheers! Søren
  7. As I understand it, the secret of a good job is down to the preparation. You have to have a good clean, surface to key on for starters. Thin coats are reckoned to be a lot better than one thick coat. The drying & curing process works better with thin coats. Yep Nige, preparation is the key word. As we used to say in the Army: "Preparation and Planning Prevents a Piss Poor Performance" and you can't argue that. My Scura looks like a bull frog with warts so it's warranty time again, unfortunately. I'm having it done here during winter - I expect to hang up the wheels in a month or so depending on whether the night temperatures will drop below zero. Søren
  8. Hi there and welcome to the forum. I'll just echo what everybody else has already said: It's a fine looking bike! Cheers Søren
  9. Hi out there, Thanks for sharing the snaps from the V11-meeting. Unfortunately I couldn't attend due to travelling on the 12th, but it looks like you guys had a good time. I've 45 pics from the Ostsee Italo Treffen in Kiel, Germany (which took place in the same time frame as the V11-meeting), but unfortunately I cannot upload the f****ng thingies on the http://community.webshots.com/. I'm completely lame when it comes to computers, but I'll persuade my sons to give it a try while I'm away next week (going to the States once more). Best regards Søren PS: All good things come to those who wait....... PPS: A big pat on the back to Jaap and Paul for getting this site up and running again!
  10. Fooking hell! That's ugly - glad that your mate made it without any casualties. This is just more ammo for us Scuristi, Tennisti and Mandelloisti. It's quite strange that Guzzi hasn't yet made a recall in order to fix the bloody clutch. Wonder if they read this homepage? Thanks for the info, Paul. Søren

    Break-in

Ciao! I broke my Scura in according to the manufactorer. In other words: I didn't rev it over 4000rpm the first 1000 km, thereafter only up to 5000 rpm for the next couple of thousand km and now, with 5500 km on the meter, I give it the good news whenever I can. Maybe I'm a chicken, but when the bike is still under warranty, I don't have an urge to mess with it. Good luck! Søren
  12. Hi db! Ride hard this weekend so all Scuristi can benefit from your experience! I'm quite happy with the standard set up so far (I have already tried to fiddle with the preload and what have you, but to no avail ) but I'm open to your experinece. Maybe 'I've been unlucky with my attempts, but i'm all ears whenever your ready to share your thoughts! Ride hard Søren
  13. I'm in too. My Scura has the same problem and Ill have the dealer fixing it at next service (10.000km - warranty). I don't like to drill if the bike is still under warranty - otherwise I would have done it on the spot. Søren
  14. Hi Scura, I have covered 4.800 kms on my Scura on BT 020 and I can let go of the handlebar at speeds exceeding150 kmph without any weaving. I'll keep an eye on front tyre from now on, that's for sure (thanks for the tip Jan ) Søren PS: Love your name - I've stopped counting the number of times when people say 'scooter' instead of Scura. Some even think it's a 'Senna' when they see the bike parked on the street.....
  15. Hi 2001f4s (do your mom and pa really call you that??) Don't be scared; the Scura really is an ace bike despite its minor flaws. Just buy it, ride it and enjoy it. I've covered 4500 kms on mine since March and I'm still in love. Good luck and post some photos on the forum, whenever you're ready. Søren

    WIX

Hi Chris, Thanks for the tip - you never know when it may come in handy. Cheers Søren
  17. I'll echo that , Nige eventhough I'm 6'4" and weighs 190 lbs. I've already fondled with the front suspension, but I have returned to the standard setup, as it suits my riding style the best. I'm a moderate 'racer' (no hang outs and knee scraping; haven't got the balls for that I suppose) but nonetheless I managed to keep up with a bunch of riders on their suicide japs, who went racing the Kenny Roberts way. In fact I couldn't help laughing, because they really attacked the corners and I just followed suit the old fart way Öhlins or bust! Søren
  18. ..and I think you have got it right, Göran! I know some people have made comments on your choice of colour, but I really like the mint green and red combo. The red and white saddle really gives it the final touch as well as the 2-1 exhaust system and the Paioli USD fork - a modern V7 Sport, in my humble opinion. Keep modifying! Søren

    MPG?

I'll echo that, Charles. When the yellow light comes on I normally fill 15 litres in the tank, which means another 225-230 km have been covered. I drive both through town (50-60 kmp/h) and on the highway (130kmp/h >) and cover 110 km per day. Søren
  20. Errr...hang on...was there anything actually wrong with the clutch? I've read Mogens' letter to the Scandinavian importer in which he complains about the noisy clutch. It's my interpretation, that there is something rotten going on as the Importer offers Mogens spareparts for the clutch job but nonetheless won't pay for the labour. Mogens' local dealer has been loyal and helpful to him all the way, so the main obstacle is the Importer (www.aprilia.dk) Mogens is on his way home from a trip to Mandello together with a bunch of happy Danish Guzzisti (the annual trip to the Holy Grail ), but he's also active in this forum under name of Rosso Mandello. Mogens, are you there?? Søren
  21. Hi Nige, I can also chip in regarding a noisy clutch on my Scura. I made an inquiry in this forum called Shake, rattle and ?? because I had the exact same experience as you. I also find the noise not only annoying but also embarassing as it sounds like the engine is being badly maintained (which it isn't!!) I spoke to my fellow Dane, Mogens Mortensen, who also had the the same problem with his Rosso Mandello. He complained to the Scandinavian importer, but to absolutely no avail (litterally they didn't give a flying f*** about it. They would pay for the spare parts but wouldn't pay for the labour. Wankers!) Søren
  22. Proofs Jim, proofs! We wanna see the pics! PS: Your mods sound good; I may go down the same road as I also miss a little more grunt from the Mandello porker. Søren Street credibility! Respect dude! Yo! Søren PS: Yes, I do have teenage sons
  23. Proofs Jim, proofs! We wanna see the pics! PS: Your mods sound good; I may go down the same road as I also miss a little more grunt from the Mandello porker. Søren
  24. Thanks for correcting my f*** up, St. Augustine Søren
  25. Nige, Check this homepage I've downloaded a manual for my Scura there. Good luck! PS: Sorry about the blunder about the screen for your Scura. I have mounted a LeMans fairing on my Scura, as I'm a lanky fellar. See the pics on the gallery/V11 mods. Cheers Søren Tikkanen, Denmark
