  1. Well, I beg to differ. I actually find it pretty good looking and this particular 'bike' actually has mirrors, indicators (check the handlebar) and - ah, well, no license plate.... When is your new baby due, Guy? Any snaps up front to tempt us? Søren
  2. Good to hear that you saw the light, Martin! I had it just like you last week when my pawl gear springie thingie decided to call it a day. Managed to limp home in 1st gear at 6.000 revs! I've also looked at another bikes 'just to check the market' sort of saying but I'll keep my darkie (as in Scura) until I take the final fart. Ride safe! Søren
  3. Like i.e. scull #@$&@#@? Learned it from a Manqunean (Manchester, can't remember how it's spelled) mate of mine....Army, of course! Cheers Søren
  4. Amen to that. Fellow Guzzistis: Cough up! Søren
  5. Add me to list as my prawl spring thingie broke - for the second time - today on my way home from work. Managed to sneak home in 1st gear at 6.000 rpm going 60 km/h. Pleased as fook, chuffed like hell... Søren PS: Tried to find a decent translation of the word 'boss' but the only thing that comes up is 'boss' (surprise, surprise) as it's the same in Danish. I'm referring to the boss where the spring is attached. Any good suggestions in either German, Dutch, Swedish, Urdu or Swahili? Please help, senores. TIA Søren PPS: And thanks for the reference numbers, Gary. I was also scrolling through various links in order to find them.
  6. Hmmmm, me and my big mouth: Guess who drove 5 miles in first gear (40 mph, 6.000 rpm) today on my way back from work? Yup, been jinxed by the sprawl troll once again. §"#€#&/(§!?='@!!!!!! Look for "broken sprawl up for grabs" in the classified. AAAAAAAAAAARGHHHH! Ride safe those of you who can. I'll take my Ford Focus the next couple of days.... Søren
  7. Guess it says it all.... Welcome back again! Søren
  8. Uaarg! Who's that bloke? Not you, BFG... Congratulations with your son and daughter in law - wish them all the best! Enjoy your ride Søren

    I'm off

Hi Jason, enjoy your trip and have a safe ride. Say hi to Sonya from me :-) Best regards Søren
  10. Ciao, Vinicio, and welcome to this strange world of V11 mad men and women :-) You have already encountered some of the Italian 'charms' but that's just Guzzi (and Luigi not to forget!) in a nutshell! Enjoy your beautyful bike and keep the sticky side of the tyres to the surface, please! BR Søren
  11. Thanks, Jaap, the dates are already marked in my calendar. Søren
  12. Hi all Seems like I'm wanted for this discussion... Ok, here's a short status report on Switzerland vs. Denmark Rally 2010: 1) According to wifey moving to Switzerland will be decided early September this year. If that's the case I foresee me being extremely busy settling in and what have you. Therefore I suggest that we stick to plan Jaap (La Chaussee) or plan Scotland (MacGuzzi) for 2010. I'm not wimping out of arranging a V11 Rally but timing is essential for everyone and several of you chaps have already mentioned that planning must start now. As soon as I'm settled I'll be more than happy to arrange a rally as promised. If we skip Switzerland for whatever reason I'll arrange a rally here in Denmark as promised. You got my word on that. 2) Going to the continent is expensive for UK riders but it works both ways. Ferry crossings come with a pricetag no matter where you come from - that's a given fact. I don't mind going to Scotland, Wales or wherever in the UK. Love the countries and the wonderful atmospehere there - hell, even the weather is like being home in Denmark! Having said that it's my conclusion (feel free to slaughter me) that two rallies per year is the way ahead. One in UK; one somewhere in Europe. It's up to you if you want to participate in both or just one - your call. I know planning and hosting takes a LOT of time - just ask Jaap or BFG - and therefore I think we must decide whether or not bi-annual rallies are the way ahead. It's not much fun putting in numerous of days hard work if only a handful of riders decide to go to 'your' rally. BR Søren
  13. As I sit here at work totally depressed and ready to slice both wrists I just wanted to show you guys some pics of the Danish summer. We've had two (2) months of rain in 24 hours!! Jeeeeeezuz........ Check out this link and join the club of winter depressed Danes.... Søren
  14. Ciao Christian and welcome onboard the V11 forum :-) Cheers Søren
  15. Hi Martin, check out this link: 668 Manual Best regards Søren
  16. Howdy, I also had my niggles with no response from the starterswitch. If I kept pressing it the fuse would just blow so I have umpteen 20 amp fuses in my tool pouch just to be on the safe side. What has worked for me is to leave the bike in 1st gear, roll it forward/backwards until the fuel pump starts to whizz and then hit the starter buttom. Works for me! I'll turn my bike in for a full service very soon so I'll bare Ratchethacks tip in mind. Thanks, Ratch and Ronaldo! BR Søren
  17. Hi power 685, congratulations with your new purchase. Guzzis come with Italian 'charm' as you have experienced yourself but once bitten by the V11 bug there's no return. As BMG says this is the motorcycle forum to end all motorcycle forums - doesn't get any better. There's always knowledgeable people ready to share their thoughts when you have questions. Next time it could be you who can help a fellow Guzzisti in Europe, Australia etc., aye?? Ride safely and keep them tyres solidly on the tarmac. BR Søren
  18. Hi scura_73 Echo all what WWW says. Never fancied the Quat-D as it has a rasp, steely sound whereas the Mistrals sound like a grizzly in heat. We're talking serious growl here; not noise. A set of Mistrals paired with a x-over and K&N filtres should do the trick. If you can get your bike dynoed it all sums up and you'll be a very happy camper. Best of luck Søren
  19. Funny and sad at the same time, Helen, but haven't we all been down that road before? C'mon, admit it! Sounds familiar..... Søren
  20. Hola senor :-) Checkout Teo Lamer´s homepage (see sponsors above). They have a good reputation and sell on-line. Best of luck! Cheers Søren Just checked their homepage and they have a bunch for sale. Search for 'valve cover'. They have a used Rosso Mandello cover for 110€; otherwise you have to cough up with 140 - 170€.
  21. Had to check 'sporren' on Wikipedia.... Gaellic for 'purse' for all us non-Anglo-Saxons so look no further. Still have my trophy kilt from Ken Bridge + farting machine. Wonder what BFG will come up with this year?? Guy: Can you PM your full address to me BTW? Promised you something many moons ago and now it has finally arrived.... Cheers Søren PS: Haven't heard jack from John Williams....
  22. Hi all, just want to say have fun at the rally. I'll be working my butt off back home refurbishing the house..... Antonio: I'll PM you later ref. your trip to Denmark. Seems like I'll be able to accommodate you and Dith in my new guestrooms (sons have moved out) so this should save you a penny or two And we'll have company from the US of A as Jason (JRT) and his wife Sonya will also come to Denmark in the same timeframe! I'll make sure that we have plenty of wine and food for the BBQ And there's also room for you and Sonya, Jason, so feel free to stay at our house. I'll take a couple of days off so I can play tourguide for you all during your staying in Denmark. More to come. I wish all V11 Rally attendees a safe trip and pleasant weekend in Northern Ireland. Wish I could be there but that's life. Best regards Søren
