  1. Hollow spokes. Some plug the casting holes to exclude dirt and debris.
  2. I detected a certain sense of entitlement in dealing with them. Hey! A member co-op!
  3. The Teo Lamers engineering problem is that the pivot should have been about 2" higher which would have allowed an equally longer stand to be more upright when it contacted the ground. Thus, one would be rocking the bike more back and up instead of more up and then back. But, the price was right (bought by former owner) and it is very good for maintenance etc.
  4. As to images, are you using Imgzeit? No problems there. 0.92ยข/month. I have the Teo Lamers center stand on my V11 (came with it installed). No foot lever at all and darned near impossible to deploy as is. The pivot point is too low, thus the initial lift is more up than back. Ouch. However, if you roll the rear tire onto a 2X6 board laid flat, it is then fairly easy to deploy. The problem is that the rear tire is held by the board. Placing the board just right will have it just roll off the board when fully deployed.
  5. Hear, Hear!!! Super-easy, super fast and super options for copying and pasting.
  6. For those who have not, give a listen to Allen Millyard's Honda six replica. FZR250 engine with two added cylinders. The genius essentially made the entire bike himself.
  7. Yeah, pull one gear and rotate the crank until the marks line up. If the plugs are in, it prolly ain't at TDC. In any event, after the install, rotate the crank verrrrry slowly, listening and feeling for interference.
  8. Calls for a window in the timing case.
  9. Before and after sound clip!
  10. What have you done? We will soon see!
  11. Does the tank have a "Lift and separate" bra?
  12. Being the prayerful type, I will send some prayers for your #2 son.
  13. Marketing hype. Hyperbole and plain old exaggeration are the norms of the day. Perhaps he could explain a time in the last...oh, 100 years or so when Guzzi's were not "scarce."
  14. In attempting to get the V100 production team all on one page, they found out that 39% of the team's members asked "There's a page?"
  15. I think that 5.5"/180 may be a little too much tire for an ancient frame and geometry, but I'll know after the next set. In thinking about it, what Aprilia did with the V11 amounts to a "restomod."
  16. The Pilot 3s on my '04 do not seem to be a perfect match for the geometry of the bike. As mentioned elsewhere, I live in the wet, but avoid riding in it. However, have had very good luck on another bike with Avons. I figure they know their rain. Now, if grip is lost on an oily patch, we can always argue whether synthetic or mineral oil patches are slipperier.
  17. Apparently not a Guzzisti, as claims of scarcity apply across the board.
  18. Are those 2001 front discs? Must admit the salvage title is a huge red flag.
  19. It most likely was not bored out of round, so was pounded out of round. I don't suppose that anyone has a hydraulic mandrel handy that would compress the bearing cavity back to spec, so perhaps a machine shop or bike frame shop could bore the steering head out, but then how to find an over-size race? I suppose that you would have to machine a shim and Loc-Tite it into place. Q: Would J-B Weld be sufficiently strong to fill the gap? Even if it failed, it would be no worse than before.
  20. Just musing here, but If the headstock bores are concentric, you "could" have the OD of the races plated so as to match them more closely to the headstock. As I said, just musing.
  21. I bag everything (Ha!) before I stuff it into the monkey paw trap. Waterproof and it all comes out together: SPF ball cap, registration, spare earplugs and.....ummm.....no - that's it.
  22. Both would sell. We are in the age of the blade runner, after all.
  23. Maybe post the VIN for comparative purposes. Was it a cosmetic total or some other damage?
