Thanks for sharing your experience. My shock seems to be okay AFAIK. I guess it will serve me well this year. Maybe an upgrade to Wilbers next year. Fine wire Irdium is indeed ditched and replaced with NGK BPR 6 ES. I'm sure they're good enough. I have no plans splashing out loads of money on an Öhlins. I check around last night - and damned they're expensive! As a member of The Norwegian Moto Guzzi Club, I think we have a discount on Wilbers. Not much though. I'm an electrician by profession, so I think so. I'm grateful to @Kiwi_Roy and his wiring schemes. I don't have a PowerCommander. Isn't that old school tuning? Thanks for the tips! Ok, that's noted. Gonna stick with the NGK's this time. Sorry, never heard of Brisk. Looks impressive. Thanks for your inputs guys. I really appreciate it!

Okay, thanks, gentlemen. I'm learning something new every day. I had yet another good time in the basement this evening. Progression is steady but slow. Waiting for the oil pan to return after glass bead blasting. Still cleaning TBs ao parts. Reading, thinking, and reading some more. Newbie alert: I wonder if I should replace the rear shock with an Öhlins or Wilbers... Now or later. Hmmm. Greenie has the original blue/white shock(Sachs?). Is this the right time, or can it wait? One more thing. I just found out that Miss Greenie has a drinking problem. She must go to rehab very soon.

Oh yes, it's a tight space. I replaced mine yesterday. Took down the left coil, sprayed the tap with silicone spray, but still very hard to press the pipe over the tap due to tight space. An angled 19mm ring wrench worked literally as my helping hand:) A small tire lever could be a proper tool to make the necessary pressure to enter the stiff pipe.

Thanks @Scud! I've searched a long time for engine paint to my Greenie, and there it was! Great. It looks close enough to me. My oil pan is being glass bead blasted these days, so good to know what paint to use.

New manual petcock installed. The threads looks a bit fragile to me and the petcock hasn’t the highest quality standard. But hey, if it doesn’t leak I’m happy. Not sure what to do about those two vent lines under the tank. Page 56 in the spare parts catalog doesn’t show any vent lines... The left side tap hadn’t any hose connected. The right side hose ended above the gearbox. The pressure regulator also hadn’t any hose connected. From the parts manual, I think it should be connected to the right side TB. Wow... Mint condition and only 3k miles! Has it been stored in a container for 15 years or so? What do you mean «wasn't expensive»? It's a $7000 IMHO. Congrats to your brother!

Why is everybody talking about Loctite!? [emoji1] Again, there was no trace of red Loctite on the damned screw. Galvanic corrosion because someone put SS screws in aluminum. I’m from up north and speaks a strange language, so if my writings is unclear; sorry about that. Do as best as I can. Haha... Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk

@gstallons Because it’s easy and very, very efficient? Today I have cleaned TBs manually with brake cleaner. Not finished yet. Still thinking about USC with kerosene/white spirit and green soap ;-) Seems like @Scud did it without any problems: @gstallons I don’t think there’s Loctite of any kind on the screws for the «lower stabilization aluminum rod» between the TBs. I know a bit about Locktite. The problem I’m facing here is galvanic corrosion between SS and aluminum. I think so.

It's Saturday night and I've just read this thread from start to finish. My life must be boring, you think:) As an owner of an early red frame, I'm not very anxious about the spring, but you'll never know. Shit happens. PayPal friend-payment for two springs to Norway is done. I'm sure it's cheap insurance. Thanks a million for the effort @Chuck and @Scud a.o. The R&D you've done is impressive!

Because of the messy state my thread is in, I'm not sure who wrote this: I guess it was you @Lucky Phil? My only reason for hesitation is the throttle body actuator. If this is sealed and fluids get in, I can see a problem with getting it dried up. So maybe I follow your advice and clean it manually. But there's an undeniable joy to observe the cavitation penetrate old junk...

I feel like I'm one of the sinners, but I fully agree on the criticism @docc. This is sort of a catch-all thread - full of bits and pieces. I will continue to post, but FYI I've just started my own thread regarding maintenance of my Greenie. Welcome anytime

Hello, V11 aficionados! This thread is about me and my Greenie. Good days and bad days. A steep learning curve, maintenance, and later on some tuning and styling. I bought the '00 V11 Greenie on the last day of August 2019. A friend drove me from Gausdal to Stryn, and I drove home on the bike. My first trip on a Guzzi since I sold the V65 Lario in 1995. 300 km in cold weather, rain, and sun. I enjoyed every moment, every curve. Right now I'm doing the long overdue winter maintenance. There are quite a lot of things to fix, inspect and enhance. I have a long list. I will be grateful for every comment. Flickr album is here
