@docc and @Meinolf Thanks for the info. I figured as much but just wanted to confirm! The digital speedometer I am using still uses the drive cable which is nice. Just need to set the correct frequency. Cheers!

Hello again as some may know I am working on a 2003 Ballabio. Slowly rebuilding and replacing needed parts. I have two questions that I have been searching for answers on and have not found any relative information on, so hoping some of you may be able to chime in! First, I am replacing the stock speedometer with a smaller digital unit. I can set the Hz frequency on it to calibrate the speed setting. Is there any information out there that tells us what the Hz frequency is on the V11? The speedometer comes preset to 46.6Hz which I have read is equal to around 60KPH. I suppose I could use a GPS speedo on my phone and raise/lower the Hz setting in the speedo to get it to match my phone as close as possible... Second, I have worked on many bikes where the ECU has to have the original speedometer in place to start/run the bike. It uses it has a handshake to tell the ECU all is good to go and the machine can be started. Will I have any issues with not using the stock instruments? I see a ground wire lead coming from the speedo, the headlight plug, I assume the two leads for the signal indicators and then the main dash plug. Just seeing if there are any wires or things that need to be salvaged from the speedo to accommodate a new speedo working. Ive seen a lot of builds with aftermarket clusters so know it can be done...Thanks!

Looking good mate!

Right on mate, best of luck. I have a mate in Italy that may be able to help? I can shoot you over the links he sent me. Looks like two v11's being sold for parts.

Thank you!

Sweet! Thanks mate.

Hi all! Does anyone happen to know what the bar/PSI rating is on the in tank style fuel pumps? My 2003 V11 Ballabio brittle quick disconnect fittings are broken, the red and white ones on the pump plate. I’m having the pump plate machined to accept new threaded fittings. I’ve done this in the past with great results on another project. I am also going to install new inline 5/16 fuel line quick disconnects but don’t want to get some that cannot handle the psi of the injection system. I see some steel ones that look sweet but at $40 per that’s a tad high. There’s also cheap plastic ones but don’t want to cause a burst! Any info would be great! cheers max

You bet!

Big thanks to @footgoose I emailed AF1 Racing, Ed confirmed with me they have one left in stock here in the US. I just ordered it. Brand new for $150...This was cheaper then some of the quotes I was getting for welding my broken one. Good piece of mind to know it's properly fixed and replaced. Now, to sell my take off parts to recoup damages haha. Now, we still need to find one for @Steve S Cheers!

Ok good info, thanks! The tail fairing is a dark gray...almost black color. I need to figure out how to scale down my images to less than .2mb for here.

Nice find mate, still damn pricey plus shipping and import but may be the ticket. I have a friend in Italy who found on a website two V11's being parted out! He is going to contact the seller for me and see what they'd like as well. Cheers

My apologies. This model as frame mount headlamp and instrument cluster. A big cast bracket that is bolted to the main frame. I edited it. Thanks mate for letting me know! Still new to this 😉

Hi all, I am rebuilding a 2003 V11 Ballabio. I have quite a handful of take off parts I will not be re-using. The bike was laid down so some plastics are scuffed. Here is what I have and I can send you pics or will try and update this as soon as possible. I am located in Washington State, US. I am happy to international ship at your cost of course but would like to get rid of these parts! Shoot me a PM with your contact info and I can get you some parts and details! One stock exhaust can with bracket Headlight---SOLD Headlight Housing---SOLD Headlight bracket--SOLD Rear taillight --wiring cut but still usable Seat----SOLD Rear plastics (cowl, fairing, etc..) cracked windshield---SOLD stock handlebars----SOLD Speedometer---SOLD Passenger rearsets Subframe battery tray air intake system Valve cover (damaged from spill) may be repairable front fender----SOLD

Nice find, I'll shoot them an email!

Thanks for checking mate, I can contact those two places you mentioned and see if they have hands on one..now two perhaps.
-
I believe I saw this as well and considered it for a split second...then closed that tab lol.
-
Sorry for the news mate. I wish I had access to a 3d scanner and could have someone aluminum print us them! Would honestly be cheaper than getting a used one...that's already broken haha.
-
Thanks mate, the frame has been thoroughly checked over and measured out. All seems to be in check...

So is it 100% confirmed that a G5 V1000 timing cover won't fit this motor? Just curious...I am new to MG and don't know much about the differences unfortunately. Other than seeing that they look identical other then the two frame mounting holes. I understand the G5 uses a different alternator but didn't know if it's cover would house a V11 alternator ok. Thanks!
-
Yeah I almost pulled the trigger on a V1000 G5 cover. After realizing they have no upper mounts and the stators are different.
-
Right! That is insane. That broken cover....If I knew this I could be rich
-
Yup, Washington state. I emailed a few recommended shops. NWFab and Precision Machine. I live in Bellingham, WA so not a ton of welders. I may have to ship the cover to Seattle and have a shop repair it.
