  1. Gauges are nice, maybe less maintenance than liquid manometer. I found that the solution in my liquid manometer would evaporate over time but a golf tee stuffed in the end of each hose stopped all of that.

I've got the DHS Mototecs on my Lemans, they were installed by the original owner. They were mounted above the top clamp and I believe that the steering geometry has changed slightly as a result but not enough that handling issues are evident to me. And, the bike is slightly more upright when on the side stand. Since getting the bike I have moved them as far aft and up as I could, it is more comfortable than before but I'm only good for 45min to an hour before I have to get off & stretch. I am currently contemplating getting longer brake/clutch lines, adapter harness to extend hbar switch wiring & throt cable so I can move the risers further aft (and up). It would be a winter project though. Art
  3. Yeah, I use an old camera tripod to suspend my Motion Pro manometer for carb/throt body sync tasks and have not burned through the manometer hoses (yet). I have, however. cooked the wiring of my inductive timing light/tachometer on a few occasions....I hate when that happens. on the Decent Tune Up.
  4. Ok, I gues it is a Cal 3!

    Relays

From the album: '03 V11 Lemans

A closer pic of my relays. Replaced the 20+ year old original equipment ones with CIT brand based on a discussion "Best Relay" on the forum. However the 6th H/C starter relay for the starter is a Picker PC782-1C-12S-R-X, NO:30a/14vdc, NC:25a/14vdc, SAE1171, UL1500, ISO8846 and was supplied by Greg Bender with the relay base & wiring....fwiw.
  6. I installed it dry, I've got about 600 miles on it now and no leaks....fwiw.

    Under the seat

From the album: '03 V11 Lemans

Could use a good cleaning. I recently added a 6th (high current starter) relay based on some comments posted on the forum. I got the relay & base from Greg Bender at This Old Tractor. The Odyssey battery is using their 90 degree "L" brackets. In addition to all the wiring at the battery posts I also added another ground wire from battery negative directly to the frame for grounding redundancy. Added a insulation to the shock spanner...at some point in this bikes life, the spanner dead shorted batt+ to ground and cooked some wiring...didn't want that to ever happen again.

Replaced Formotion clock with Walmart $9.95 model
  9. From the album: '03 V11 Lemans

Replaced Formotion clock with Walmrt $9.95 thing. When I get time, I'll take a Dremel to the wrist band posts.
  10. Hi Chuck, Yeah, I used their D5 stuff on the old stereo I didn't know there were different blends of Deoxit when I bought their D5 years ago Art
  11. The op of my Lemans installed Formotion clock & thermometer. The clock failed last year, Formotion doesnt repair that particular model so instead of spending $50+ on a new one I opted for a $10 Wally World unit. I picked out one having a similar black/white color scheme, removed the band, added velcro and stuck it in place, good to go. If I wasn't so lazy , I woulda Dremeled off the band uprights and touched up with black paint.
  12. I wonder if a good used seal can be had from a junkyard since they been using those types of connectors on cars for the last 20+ years. And, I think I used the wrong type of de oxit on the rheostats of my 45yo Pioneer 1010.
  13. Docc. Call Greg.....480-416-6474. I don't think everything he has available is posted at the website. Art
  14. FWIW, Greg Bender….https://www.thisoldtractor.com/for_sale_wiring_harness.html I got my "dovetail mount" relay recepticle from Greg so I could add a high current starter relay and piggy backed it on to the other existing relays. Art
  15. Sorry, IDK....
  16. I rode my V11 Lemans to the monthly Northeast Ohio Guzzi breakfast at Mike's Place in Kent, Ohio this morning. Earlier this week I pulled the leaking timing sensor out, cleaned off the gasket sealer I had previously used (permatex 300), applied new sealer (permatex motoseal gasket maker) and re-installed. I have about 350 miles on it now and no leaks or seeps yet. Yeah, new oring seals both times. Anyway, good food & conversation was enjoyed by all the attendees, I think.

  18. FWIW, I call it "end play". While the end play might be acceptable as Lucky Phil said, I thought it was unusual for the seal to flex in and out as the spline shaft is moved fore and aft. I don't think the seal should be hanging up on the shaft and wonder if that is where T89's leak is coming from....a failed seal, seal lip riding in a dirt groove/rust/etc. imho but defer to the more knowledgeable here. Art Update an hour later: OK, I've got the same movement on mine as in the video and no leaks.
  19. Hi, Stupid question....So, both tank fittings are the same part number? Although I've had my tank off a few times, I never bothered to notice if both tank fittings were the same other than I think one is red and the other is white. Also, how are the original fittings removed from the tank/pump base plate? Just curious, hope I never need to do that, replacing the internal filter, lines & gasket were fun enough. Thanks, Art
  20. Yeah, at least not posted.....contact Greg at TOT to inquire about pieces/parts, I've done it for other oddball electrical stuff for my Eldo & LMIVSE. He's the owner/proprieter/manufacturer of custom motocycle wiring and is a well respected down-to-earth knowledgeable easy to talk to nice guy. Art
  21. FWIW, if you are looking for connector parts try Greg Bender at This Old Tractor. https://www.thisoldtractor.com/for_sale_wiring_harness_tonti_california_iii.html
  22. Interesting! I had noticed wear on my seat pan so I "trimmed" (2each 0.375" holes) accordingly to alleviate pressure on the L-bracket post on my Odyssey. I did not notice any wear on the battery strap/seat pan area but will now double check it and give consideration to lowering the battery basket. Thanks! Art
  23. Thanks Docc! I've got a McMaster-Carr baggie of #112 (60 durometer) Viton orings from back in 2020 when I was messing with the original sensor. The original leaked from the top of the sensor molded housing and after I sealed it, it began to leak from where the molded housing meets the cable casing. Yeah, the old thing would seep, the new set-up leaks. I plan on getting to this on the next rainy day. Thanks, Art
