  1. As if I didn't already have enough project bikes to work on, I had to go pick up another one. Not running quite yet but she'll get there.
  2. The lower the current to the solenoid the lower the pull in and contact quality. Thus less current passed through to the starter motor.
  3. When I did my trouble shooting I did exactly that. I was considering running a larger gauge wire from the starter relay to the starter solenoid thinking this may be an issue. It worked well with the jumper. When I put the spade connector back on it also worked well. Just to make sure spinning the engine and loosening it up wasn't a factor I waited a couple of days before trying it again. Pushed the starter button and she spun over well with no issues.
  4. While in Scotland earlier this year I had the opportunity to try another delicacy of our fine woolly friends, haggis. Surprisingly, it's one of the best things I've eaten and I've developed a liking for it. Unfortunately our great nation has banned it here and I don't quite have the stomach to make it myself at home. 5. The current drawn by the starter motor depends on how well that solenoid pulls in and seats the contacts. When the starter is new a poor connection at the spade connector would be less obvious. Over time the faces of the contacts burn, you get a poorer connection, and the starter motor can't get the current it needs when the spade connector has a poor connection. Clean the connection, the solenoid gets a little more current and it seats the contacts enough for the motor to start. I'm almost willing to bet there's been a lot of starters replaced due to this that were still perfectly fine.
  6. As much as we chase these starter problems I seem to have traced mine down more to the slip on connector to the solenoid. Every time I have issues moving it or cleaning it clears up the problem. I'm starting to think a small bolt through there to improve the connection might be an answer.
  7. I have the small portion that broke out of it. I'm going to try and see if I can repair it without it standing out too much.
  8. Fender found! Thanks Scud!
  9. Not bad at all for a Centauro.
  10. Same leak on mine. The breather hose checked out fine. I sealed the TPS with a small amount of RTV to see if that's the source. I have a timing cover gasket on hand if it turns out to be the problem.
  11. Keeping a close watch on ebay . It may be a while before one shows up. Discontinued so there are no new ones available anywhere.
  12. Go on ebay and find an air compressor from a Goldwing 1200 Aspencade and strip the extraneous stuff off of it. Small, compact, you can wire it as desired for connection to your battery.

  14. I managed to crack my front fender on the Coppa while rearranging the bikes. I can probably glue/patch it but I would rather just replace it. Anyone have one? Thanks!
