Moto International is putting the high mounts on my bike right now. I have the Mistral Ti Ovals. As Al mentioned in a thread on this topic previously, the high mount are the same as those from the Sport 1100 without a mounting bracket. I'm guessing that you can probably manipulate any after market system to work with those mounting brackets. Moto International has the high mounts in stock.
-
I'm actually in process of putting on the High Mounts for my mufflers, c'mon admit it, you want the Hi Mounts and new cans anyways
-
i'll call em today and see. I'm a bit concerned that RMC doesnae carry any Italian metal though. robbie

I have a 2001 V11 Sport so it's pretty much the same bike as yours. I've ground my right peg without anything else touching but i have the mistral ti ovals on my V11 so I can't say for sure that your peg would grind first. my guess is that it also has to do with how much your suspension is compressed due to rider weight and your suspension setting as well but i'll leave that topic to someone who actually knows what they're talking about

heh ianj, you did a ride on your LeMans pretty much all the way up the road to my old house and talked about it in one of your ride reports http://www.obairlann.net/~reaper/motorcycl...qualmie_valley/ if you ever want to find the rest of that road give me a holler, My house was at the end of one of the "no exit" roads on Lake Kayak. There's a dirt road that connects the two Cherry Valley roads so you can loop back into Duvall , but you'd need an enduro for about a mile as the county forgot to make a land purchase and so that one section is actually on private land. robbie

HA! thats all i have to say on that subject As far as not being an approved tuning center goes, Al you're right that if they are certified they can probably get the map that much closer, mostly i need the dyno run for my own peace and quiet, it'd bug me if there was HP to be gained just from tweaking a wee bit. Actually thats another thing i'm stoked on, Moto International is having a rider demo day on july 24th. Ingrid will finally get to ride a Breva, a Tuono, a V11 an Ev all back to back
-
I don't know if they're a certified tuning center or not. To be honest, as long as they have the software and know how to tune my PC 3 so my map isn't so rich anymore i'll be all stoked

hahahaha no she rules! She has to be the best bike salesperson of all time in fact she just ordered a Paul Smart Ducati for her very ownsome, so she's busy deliberatng as to whether she should sell her ST2 ...sheesh life is tough huh ?
-
So Skagit Powersports just took delivery of a dyno, oh and they also carry Guzzi. They are currently doing a special $50 for 3 dyno runs, this includes tuning your power commander !!!! WOOT ! If you plan on getting your custom map set up done there, say hi to Cassandra the sales manger for me

i'm serious this months Bike magazine describes the Duc 999 as the perfect sports tourer but then they also said the same about the r6
-
so i was looking at a Ducati 999 the other day as a Sports tourer (don't laugh, go read Bike magazine) and noticed that the Duc doesn't bother with a hugger. Do we really need one ?

What time is it?
robbiekb replied to belfastguzzi's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
hey just out of interest, the road that was shown in the pic earlier on in this thread wasnae Portillo,Chile was it ? I drove up a road that looked kidna like that, but it was covered in snow at the time and we were kinda busy dodging a semi that crashed on one of the switchbacks and fell a couple of hundred feet onto a lower road section -
so one quick point to note is that my Guzzi started making a burning smell and i found out that it was oil dripping onto the crossover and burning off before it could drip to the ground
-
actually i think it's cool even as a guitar guy Heh Dave , so I couldn't resist and went to look at the Nero Corsa. They're setting up a test ride. there's no way i'll be able to amount an effective resistance while my bike is still in the shop
-
hahah what did i start ? .. and Dave Gross still hasnae had his 5 cents actually i'm pretty sure that my hummer probably does have valves in it somewhere from the noise i get from the power steering pump I bet it does in fact ! **laughs** as far as oil goes, i believe its optional...a few weeks back i was at Evergreen speedway in Monroe and they had a "go till you blow" copmpetion where they drained all the fluids from a ford , chevvy and dodge and then started them up with bricks on the gas pedals to see which one would blow up last. The Dodge wouldn't start at all, the chevvy lasted 15 minutes and the Ford wouldn't die at all, so they switched the engine off i wonder how much weight i'd shave off the bike if i just ran with no fluids whatsoever ?
-
i want one too unfortunately i dont live in a state where i think i can get it licensed for on road use. I need to move to nevada or some such other more permissive state
-
records do sometimes sound better than cd's I like the analogue "hiss" oh yeah and my Marshall Stack Guitar amp has VALVES in it !

I don't know how everyone else feels, but the only thing that disapoints me about the serie version of the mgs is just how much down in power it is compared to the corsa. Personally I'd much prefer the corsa with a registerable license so I can ride it on the street. If i'm going to spend all of that money anyways, I might as well spring for the extra cash and buy the corsa.

I think I found the bike picturesand specs that Maria was looking at. http://www.dynotec.de/index.html lists a whole slew of different mods for Various different Guzzi's. Luckily I used to live in Germany and although not fluent any longer, i can still make sense of the webpage Dynotec is highlighting a kit that delivers 97-100 hp (PS) for a 2valve V11. From looking at their comparison data to the stock bike, i'd say that they're taking this data at the crank (there's no way a stock V11 can put 92 ponies to the ground straight from the factory ) The bike that Maria might have seen is the Dynotec Guzzila V13 which theyre rating between 143 and 147 hp. again it's not clear if this is rated at the crank or the rear wheel , but either which way the power would be plenty for most of us So here's the one bit i'm rusty in my vocbaulary in, It looks like they took a 4 valve engine to bore out. That would make sense as it's mated to a 5 speed gearbox. So it's a hot looking bike but not based on a V11 Sport.

ack sorry i'm a dyslexic typist I have a split keyboard at home and a regular one at work, switching between the two royally messes with my typing. asically my OEM brakes warped pretty badly at around 400 miles, i've waited a few years of crappy grabby ABS style braking and now i'm putting on a set of full floating rotors
-
Those wheels are dope though, Have you bee nable to compare the Ghezzi-Brian based suspension to the Ohlins ? I'd also be interested to see how the prcing works out in difference between the two.
-
I wonder how those wheels hold up to Seattle potholes ? I just ordered a new set of EBF floating rotors for the stock wheel
-
OK i did some more detailed searching , maybe i won't bother with dual plugs after all I will however call Mike Rich to see about some head work this winter. I'd heard his name a few times and was having a hard time tracking down contact information for him.

I just dropped my baby off for the last round of it's tweaks (and to get an oil leak fixed). Once I get the bike back i'll get it tuned by Dave Green in Seattle and i'll post the dyno results here. Mods i'm currently running: PC111 Mistral Ti mufflers K&N Pods Final mods to go on: FBF high compression pistons Stucchi crossover Al, do you have a list somewhere or in one of the threads that lists all of the mods that you did to your bike ? I'm kind of interested in the dual plug thing after iread an article in motorcylist.

Thanks ofr the advice guys ! i'm dropping the bike off today for service. Hey Carl, I got your mail, sorry i haven't replied yet, i'm backed up on my email right now as my project at work is about to hit a major milestone so i've been crunching (yet still i apparently find time to post on the v11 board..ah well thats my guilty pleasure in life)
