i had problems with missed shifts but it turned out to be the boot, occasionally my bke will find a false neutral going down the box between 4th and 3rd but thats about it
-
ah see there you go just wait, i'll buy a Nero and turn it into a 4v behemoth just so that i can indulge in wheelie contests with jim
-
just keep it AND buy the goddamed yamaha for fecks sake

one would think that would be a perfectly reasonable gift for Ingrid to get me. Instead of my birthdya trip to the MV Agusta/Ducati/triumph/guzzi dealer i am stuck at home waiting for her to get back from showering (plumbers are working on our water) , apparently someone needs to stay home in case my surprise present shows up ? Maybe she did buy me some OZ wheels. if so i hope they're gold

Unless i'm missing something (i'm hoping Zeb or Paul chimes in on this), I can just simply place an order for a heated up Dynotec motor at pretty much any time and drop it into my chosen Guzzi of choice right ? I was salivaitng at the idea of one of those in a Nero Corsa with some OZ wheels

the thing is, that your mods are so individual, that the instant you start mass producing them, you're starting to deviate from that which youve had so much fun with from the beginning, personalising your own bike so that it fits you. I don't know about you, but it feels nice to know that noone has the exact same config as my bike, although obviously with yours, you also have a unique paint job taking it a step further. Most peeps on this board would probably love a magic bullet giving them an extra 20 rwhp, but, given that isn't going to happen with the 2 valve motor, I would imagine that other issues such as aesthetics and the pipes sound come into play with purchasing decisions. Personally i'd put a supertrap type exhaust on a scura or any other V11 with a flat black paint job but not on my Green V11. I like my "smoking" guns upswept Robbie

So obviously from this post I fully subscribe to the Dave Gross school of "I ride em till it breaks, then i bitch and moan for help on the forum with little personal technical knowledge of my v11 " ok so here's the deal, I just moved from Seattle, WA to Santa Monica, CA and on the way down the bike took a bit of a beating on the back of the trailer courtesy of our suberbly smooth I5. The right fender of the trailer was bouncing off the sidestand which in turn was pushing on the exhaust around about the crossover. The end result is that the exhaust on that side of the bike is now touching the engine casing and the crossover is obviously off center.... So here's the question, once i get all of the crap from moving out of my garage so i can actually get to my bike (its buried in the back), is it as fairly straightforward as i'm hoping to just manhandle the exhaust back to its original position and then tighten everything back down again or is it best for me to lay off and check it into a dealer ? My biggest concern is obviously placing stress on certain joints on the exhaust, after all the money i've shelled out recently i'm not too keen to have to replace cracked headers just coz i never got my pipes adjusted correctly Thanks ! Robbie p.s. if anyone is down my way, i'm set up for guests now (DAVE ?)

Dave, Santa Monica is great, My commute to work along PCH is a lot of fun. I can't wait to get my bike out of the back of the garage to start riding it every day. If you think about it form a logical stanbpoint, you've fixed everything on the bike that can go wrong for a while, just ride it and enjoy it I had a similar experience right at the beginning of my ownership with the dead ECU but now i dont give the bikes reliability a second thought.
-
yeah but it's not really a looker is it ? (the fjr i mean!)
-
alrighty , it'll probably be sometime next month before i start looking as i'm just in the middle of unpacking form the move... In fact the bike is trapped in the back of the garage right now !
-
it's a seattle thing Dave you need to keep the V11 but move to Santa Monica so you can ride it all year round in yer flipflops
-
not a problem laddie ! I priced out a new fairing and mounting brackets etc and it works out to about 750 US
-
i'm getting all excited about the possibilities now It'd look like the original V11 LeMans concept bike all done out in Lime green
-
i'll buy your fairing and mounting brackets !
-
I noticed that my riding style has gotten more "aggressive " with all my mods and now i spend more time running full throttle in lower gears. It's no real wonder that i get about 120 miles till the fuel light comes on
-
Heh Antonio, you have a LeMans right ? so you're probably running the wider bigger back tire on the long frame bike so it doesn't surprise me that your handling characteristics are different. That said, i've heard other people tell me the same feedback on the Sportec M1's, mainly the reason why i'll go with the Michelin Pilot Powers next
-
the deal with the diablo is that they dont make the rear in that oh so slender nice cornering smaller back tire that us short frame v11 owners love so much. I'm going for the Michelin pilot powers to replace my MEZ 3's (which incidentally ruled!)
-
Hey Dave, when you got yer bike all tweaked out by George Dean what was did the eventual dyno grpah look like ? Can you post the chart here ? on incidentally my new email address is robbiekb@bitarts.com Robbie

I am jealous (not of the naked belly but of the ride) I was in Santa Monica this weekend shopping for a new place to live and an office. (I think i found one). Will ya'll still be riding at the end of October ? I'm anxious to get some miles on the goose this winter in the balmy southern california sunshine
