  1. The temperature reached the dizzy heights of 42 F (5 C) today, roads are still salty, and my bikes have been in hibernation since late November. Powder coated sump & roper plate now fitted to the Silver V11. Added Putoline 10w40 oil & filter and it’s ready for the road for Spring. Shuffled the bikes around in the garage to access the MT01. The paints bubbling around the dry sump around the oil inlet pipe, so next project is to remove the oil tank, repaint & refit when I’ve sourced new gaskets. Then when that’s done onto the Greenie, where I need to repair a crack in the front fender and deal with a deep scratch near the base of the tank. Interested to hear how to source this green paint, or if I should leave it up to the paint shop to mix
  2. It’s price is GBP£18250, that’s USD$25K
  3. Bellisimo!
  4. Teng Tools 5 ~ 25 Nm 3/8th” drive. Mid range price & quality. You can spend a great deal on torque wrenches, (as with hand tools generally) and you tend to get what you pay for. The very cheap stuff is useless, might just as well use a normal hex drive and guess Have a 5 ~ 25 Nm, a 20 ~ 100 Nm, & 40 ~ 200 Nm 1/2” drive, which cover all I’ll ever need
  5. Powder coated pork chop
  6. Roper plate installed, now to mount the oil filter carrier assembly. My small torque wrench is useful for correctly torquing the M6 bolts
  7. Newly powder coated sump, I’ve throughly cleaned inside removing all the sludge, ready to go back on the bike now the roper plate is installed
  8. My Greenies pork chops, powder coated around a year agp
  9. I’ve had 2 sets of pork chops powder coated at a local powder coating shop. They shot blasted the old finish off, and masked the threads with excellent results. Much more durable than the original red paint (these are off red frame bikes), and no issues with longevity. This one was done 2 years ago and it’s pristine
  10. Here is another UK Guzzi dealer saying they are open to pre orders for the V100, but no price or delivery date being quoted. Here in the UK IC bike sales ban is set at 2035. It looks like the rest of Europe will also set 2035 as the end for IC powered 2 wheelers. This might seem in the distant future, but I cannot see many manufacturers investing heavily in a new IC platform that may have a life of only 10 ~ 11 years, when the entire European market is set to end. Plus if the eco-warriors get their way, this could be brought forward to 2030 to align with the ban on IC powered 4 wheelers
  11. Noticed this advert on the Bay from a local Guzzi main dealer, that suggests ETA & price TBC and available to pre-order now. This must be wishful thinking. I wouldn’t be in the market for a V100 until they have a track record of at least 3 ~4 years problem free production, but I’m intrigued enough to call the dealer and ask if they have more information regarding when volume production is scheduled to start. My money would be around Q3 / Q4 2023 at the earliest
  12. I’ve never heard a V11 described as sex on toast. I’m trying to imagine what sex on toast is like
  13. Current daily drives for myself and the missus, 330 M Sport Pro & Z4 E89
  14. You have a MK 111 MG Midget I’ve had a BGTV8 (with the Buick alloy V8) for the past 30 years. These days I struggle to squeeze into a B let alone a Midget. Too many 🥧 pies
  15. They weigh 750 kg !!!
  16. We often seem to finish a ride at the cafe by that old red phone booth
  17. My silver V11 next to a friends Beemer are examples of the regulation size UK motorcycle plate. Note the old red phone kiosk, they were originally introduced in 1925, they are made from cast iron ! No longer used for pay telephones many were sold off a few years ago
  18. Hello Tom, my Greenie has a small plate & a tail tidy. The previous owner fitted it, and TBH I quite like smaller plates as the standard regulation size UK motorcycle plate seems huge, basically the same size that is fitted to a bus! and many folk over here do fit smaller (non conforming) small plates to many bikes. The police usually turn a “blind eye” to small plates unless they are crazily small. My Griso and MT01 also have small plates that aren’t strictly absolutely street legal. My silver & grape ape V11’s have standard plates that seem huge for bikes and are basically bus sized !
  19. No jesting, simply quoted what the folk at Mandello del Lario published in their manufacturers handbook. Whether or not they were jesting back then I cannot possibly know However if they were jesting in the past with the V11 / Griso stats who’s to say that they are still continuing the jesting with their claims for the V100
  20. 3 x V11 Sports. 2 red frames, one black. All in hibernation in the garage, I hate winter 🥶
  21. 94NM of torque from our old school, air cooled, 2V heads V11s 108NM from my old school air cooled, 4v heads Griso 1200 I’m confident that my old school Guzzi’s will have no issue in keeping up with a V100, however as I fast approach my 7th decade I’m not sure I’m up to it and I’m a mere sprog (youngster) compared to most in my Guzzi club. Most of us are north of 60. Heck I was riding a CX500 over 40 years ago and my then girlfriend had a V50 I’m not yet ready to downsize from a V11 to a Honda cub, but the years are passing by too fast
  22. Last year I replaced the intake boots on both my 1999 Silver V11 & 2003 “grape ape” V11. I noticed deep hairline cracking in the rubber boots and didn’t want the cracks progressing and causing air leaks so fitted new boots interesting point about the Ohlins steering damper. I’ll check my Rosso Corsa to see if it’s a Bitubo or Ohlins
  23. Another fabulous red framed black V11. I cannot recall seeing any black V11s here in the UK, ever. Only Greenies & the occasional silver. Don’t understand why, a black V11 has tremendous presence, it’s a great colour for large block sport Guzzi’s. Apologies for a gratuitous pic of my Griso
  24. Well it’s the middle of winter, can’t get out to ride, I’ve consumed too many pies & too much beer over the festive season, and by mid-March when I usually start riding again, all my gear will have shrunk over the winter At the NEC bike show in December I found this machine. It makes a V11 feel as compact as a FS1E
