  1. Funny you should say that, because I have heard about it from others too. The PR4 is better than the PR5. Maybe it is an indication why they came up with the PR6 so quickly? I have very little experience with modern tires/tyres; all my bikes used the Dunlop K-81. I am just in my discovery period. As I did with my car that goes through rear tires/tyres in no time, I intend to try all the major brands. But Michelin resonates with me because we want to the manufacturing plant when I was in the Army. Michelin designed and built the tires/tyres used on the AMX 10 RC, and probably still make tires for whatever APC Nexter is running nowadays.
  2. Today I drove the Le Mans to the Moto Guzzi hospital for a tires/tyres transplant. The older Michelin Pilot 2 are going to be replaced with Michelin Road 5. The Le Mans was on the transplant list for a little while as it seems Michelin Road 5 seemed to be a difficult match. Michelin came up with the Road 6: 15% more grip than the MICHELIN® Road 5 tire in wet conditions thanks to 100% MICHELIN® Silica Technology tread compounds and a new tread pattern featuring MICHELIN® Water Evergrip Technology™. The MICHELIN® Road 6 tire delivers 10% longer tread life compared to the previous generation. The MICHELIN® Road 6 tire typifies two decades of ongoing innovations and MICHELIN® Technologies from our highest level of expertise. Why Michelin Road 5 for my Le Mans? MICHELIN Road 5 tires offer superior wet weather grip versus leading competitors due to patented MICHELIN XST Evo siping and our latest 2CT and 2CT+ tread compounds* Even after 3,500 miles, MICHELIN Road 5 tires stop as short as new MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 tires thanks to evolutionary MICHELIN XST Evo sipes.** Enjoy better dry grip, improved stability and handling versus MICHELIN Pilot Road 4 tires thanks to Michelin’s patented ACT+ casing technology for even more riding pleasure.*** When I get the Le Mans back, probably a few weeks, this hospital only has one doctor, I will attempt to travel to the twisted sisters to verify if there is any noticeable improvement over my current Michelin Pilot 2 mount. My current rear tire could have gone a little longer, but my front tire needs change. Seems like the Guzzi eats out front tires like there is no tomorrow; is this your experience?
  3. I did not find any V11 Le Mans operator or officina fascicolo for 2004 V11s. When attempting to download manuals from the Moto Guzzi website, they ask you to enter the VIN number, and I get an error message because that bike is registered under a different name. I suppose Guzzi never imagined people could resale their motorcycles. I sent email to both Moto Guzzi and Piaggio and did not get any reply. Anybody here can find a 2004 workshop and spare parts manual for V11 motorcycles produced in 2004? or, are the 2003 editions good enough? Prior to posting, I searched for a "V11 Manual repository" in the forum, and I did not find one using the search option. This is where I got all my manuals: https://www.thisoldtractor.com/moto_guzzi_tonti_workshop_manuals___shop_manuals___service_manuals.html
  4. I never thought Electric Vehicles would be the future. I always rooted for hydrogen and fuel cells. It seemed to me the best solution. Unfortunately, everywhere governments are pushing out the electric. To me hydrogen had it all to take over. Unfortunately, hydrogen is far more expensive than electricity. Whatever we think about "green" advocates, we can't fight it. I participated to an ABB presentation on the challenges to implementing large scale charging stations here in the USA, and we are far from being able to let go of fossil fuels.
  5. This feels strange. If it was real, we would see many adds and I am convinced the price and availability would have been released through the press. But hey, maybe this dealer has connections? Well, how much time is left before the production of internal combustion engines ends? many cities are going to prohibit access to anything not electric starting 2025; 2030 will only see clean cars being produced. That's Europe. I think that Guzzi needs to ramp up quickly. Maybe 2030 will slip to 2035. Nobody really knows. I am thinking that I may simply make the most of my V11 and forget about anything new at this point.
  6. @Kiwi_Roy I got it now; I understand better when I look at the drawing below. The starter motor is directly connected to the battery via 11. In my case, if I keep depressing the starter button for more than one second when the starter does not crank, I blow the 15 amps fuse. Repeat starter button presses, spaced of about 1 second eventually yield without turning switching off. Do you think it eventually cranks because repeat coulombs flow warm up the contacts?
  7. For those of you unfamiliar with what the Monte Carlo means, watch this!!! no boring narrative, just the facts, and a back flip at the end....
  8. I protest about the nick name "Porkchops". How about Texas T-bone?
  9. @Kiwi_Roy Once I get the problem's root cause identified beyond doubt, and I want to thank all those who contributed opinions, I will update the original post with all the information. Thus, if anyone else faces a similar problem, they will be able to get all the information by reading a single post.
  10. @docc By winning the 2022 Monte Carlo Rally, Sebastien Loeb set a new record; oldest driver ever to win a WRC rally. He won 9 times the WRC world championship. Incidentally, Sebastien Ogier won 8 times so far, still in the race to get to nine this year, arrived 2nd at the 2022 Monte Carlo after leading, but had a puncture to give Loeb the win. It seems like when you are born, if they name you Sebastien, you are bound to become a talented rally driver? When you think about it, (Finland, Sweden, Norway) always were the countries producing the best rally drivers.
  11. And Sebastien Loeb won the 2022 WRC Monte Carlo Rally... at 47 years old and semi-retired.
  12. @Scud I received the book; I think I should be apt to share my opinion having experienced a lot of the topics first hand. I have been in both positions of leading and following; My upbringing was in a boarding school, boys only, and we would only leave the school during public holidays. I am talking about Elementary and High School. Not University. Then I joined a Military University as a civil, and did Military service. I joined Schlumberger after giving back my time, and worked in a lot of different places in the world. As a Supervisor/Lead Engineer, you would have local people under your command. There are some places in the world where a title does not make you a leader. I have been posted in countries where religion would determine your leaderhsip in a group. I also learned that age and seniority would grant you, or not the respect that you would hope to get. Visual appearance is also a factor of trust or mistrust or hatred. As I have not yet read the book, I don't know if you have touched on hurdles that come from nationality or gender. When I started my career in the oilfield, a lot of clients judged me based on my nationality. I also witnessed the difficulty of women making their way into leadership. in certain countries, you have to accept that only G.d leads and determines the outcome of whatever endeavor you embark upon. I do not know if you have studied these case scenarios during your research on leadership. Anyway, I will read the book and come back to you.
  13. @motortouring Never heard about her before. Great!!!
  14. @LowRyter This guy is one of the best there is with that kind of technology.
  15. Just because we have been debating females on motorbikes; the attempts of female to win on motorbike races have been unsuccessful so far. But if you have never heard about an exceptional lady driver who won against male counterparts, here's Michèle Mouton:
  16. @LowRyter I used eARC on my 1080p Samsung TV. I have an AV receiver from Yamaha combined with 5.1 SVS speakers. I also have a Chromecast device connected and a Google Nest Hub. With the Google Nest Hub, I can turn on my TV and my audio system by just asking. Samsung uses its own operating system Tizen. I also have a 4K HDR Sony TV operating on Android TV. I use Alexa with this one, and nothing works as it should. eARC is connected to my PlayStation, and turning the playstation should turn the TV on too. But it does not work seamlessly. The TV displays, connections, operating systems, protocols are completely confusing and are no longer able define what what standards the TV model you want complies with. Such as HDMI 2.0 to HDMI 2.1. HDMI regulator has retired HDMI 2.0. New TV are now going to call all the ports HDMI 2.1 even if they don't support the complete protocol. Same as USB-C; HDMI cables are important too. I wish TV manufacturers did away with these connections, and standardize only on USB-C.
  17. But she is not here with us... When I was in my Moto Club, in my teen days, we never had a single lady interested in our ventures. Unlike Buckle Bunnies, there were no Iron Horses Bunnies. I guess our questionable mechanic smell, combined with our greasy sludgy hands with black finger nails were not really appealing. Later on, there were a few ladies that would accept a short pillion trip, but it was always something they would do to please us; not by choice. I reviewed the list of participants of the Motorcycle tour of Texas, and as far as I can tell, males with their ladies piggy back. We always were a dying breed. Right from the beginning. I think we are going to end like the Tasmanian Tiger; extinction.
  18. Exactly! Moto Guzzi presented the Mandello at EICMA 2021; the future is grimy. I am even thinking they may never commercialize it. It arrives too late. There is a large procurement problem across the world. Piaggio is certainly not focused on Moto Guzzi. It is very possible that we never see the V100 in the flesh. I know they are renovating the factory in Mandello; I can't find much information on the progress and the inauguration time. If they get it going by 2025, it will already be too late.
  19. I was going to say #metoo; But listening to a streamcast during EICMA, there were rumors of a possible Le Mans edition following the Mandello. That stopped me in my tracks. I would be willing to wait for a Le Mans. At the same time, I am beginning to doubt Piaggio's engagement to invest more when Europe is pretty much announcing the end of the internal combustion engines for tomorrow. Once the Mandello is out and about, which in all honesty I have no clue when it will be, I will make a decision. Now that the writing is on the wall, I think manufacturers are going to modify the long term objectives. Its happening already with the car makers.
