Just for a little change of scenery, here's Royal Enfield..... I kind of liked the Red one, I think it is called the Continental GT? at 4:40 in the video.

Finally, some information on availability; Summer 2022. Prices are still being worked on. Activate the subtitles and choose "Auto-Translate" English. It is actually quite good. The Piaggio manager explains that Moto Guzzi wanted to combine the current market's orientation favoring Adventure bikes, and at the same time trying to preserve the strong Moto Guzzi identity. All models will have adaptative aerodynamics according to the ride mode selected, with up to 22% better protection with the lateral appendixes fully deployed.

Personally, I am sold on the red one. Aesthetically it is very pleasing (to me). The French guy that got kicked off the bike said that the fairing is too low (but was it in the lowest most position?) to protect effectively, and he thinks the handlebars are a tad too low. He is tall and he said the position appeared to be good.

Another review, with more details (unfortunately in French, but google automated subtitles should help... This one is funny, because the two journalists get kicked off the V100, and got told to put on their masks... They end the presentation by getting mad at Moto Guzzi..... lol....

Clan was, is, the brand name chosen for a popular pipe tobacco in Europe. I found an old commercial which would not be politically correct today.... "Pipe" pronounced "peep" in French has another meaning...

Dynamic presentation, no narration....
-
We still don't know much about the V100 Mandello, that was not divulged during the initial presentation. Here's the article on Moto.it. The two retrievable deflectors are said to minimize the wind buffeting around the pilot. For the rest, no price, no availability schedule. The two motorbikes at EICMA are not production models.

Gear pumps are flow through. I used Sundyne pumps early in the 80's. They were equipped with by-passes and regulation valves at the outlet. But after use, you had to isolate them, else you could get flow back.

I would have thought industrialization would be controlled by the Piaggio Group and more efficient, but you may be correct.

You did not consider purchasing one of those wonderfully expensive Moto Guzzi key rings at 47 EUR a pop? it includes a carabiner so you can fasten your precious key and never misplace it... https://www.motoguzzi.com/it_IT/accessori/merchandising/portachiavi/portachiavi-moto-guzzi-606667m/ -
I am going to make a copy of my ignition key for the Le Mans 2004, and I would like to have the same key ring that I got with the bike. I have been looking for an original one, unfortunately I have not managed to find one so far. This is the one I am talking about The link is from a specialized shop in Italy, however they don't have it in stock. I got some hits running universal queries, but all that I found have already sold. If anyone knows where to find one, please let me know. Thanks!

Here is the Moto.it link to everything there is to know about EICMA: The first two days, 23rd is only for the Press, and the 24th for Press and Professionals; from 25th to 28th to everybody. We should get some V100 and other Guzzi feed-back from the 23rd, hopefully price and availability.

EICMA is around the corner, and the official V100 full details unveil is scheduled for November 23rd 2021; There seem to be two colors, green and red, one version with all the bells and whistles, and a basic one. Who among you is interested by purchasing either of the models? Moto Guzzi has most likely started the production, and the bikes will be shipping out soon after EICMA. I know it is early days to gauge the interest since we have only seen the bike but we don't know much other than having seen it and heard it. It also makes sense that Europe will be served first. I personally would be willing to purchase the red version. Conditional because I don't have the space to park it at the moment.

I received my BTCL (Becker Technik Central Lifter), and I tried. First attempt went well, in my garage with a very smooth surface. I deployed it without too much problem. I then put the bike outside, and I was unable to deploy it. Although we are on cement, the wheels did not swing beneath as easily as in my garage. Maybe using a lever can help. I used the passenger foot pegs fixture to lift while pushing on the arm of the BTCL.

The show begins November 23rd, ends November 28th; If I am correct, the first day(s) are reserved and not open to the public. Moto Guzzi's main event will be the V100; however, there will certainly be some other variations on the usual V7.

@VtwinStorm I only have a single key to my Le Mans. I leave it in the ignition switch, when parked in my garage. There is no depletion since there is no transponder. MGcycle sells key blanks, so it is easy to cut one or two spares and store them. Then there are the Air Tags, which can also save the day, especially if you loose your key while away from home base. -
@Kiwi_Roy Thanks for the insight! I got your point about Vaseline; it is just that I never came across it before reading this thread. When it comes to logging oil wells, we want the continuity and insulation possible, under hydro static or effluent pressure, and temperature. And we test with Mega ohmmeters or in the case of Electrical Down hole Pumps, ESPs, Giga Ohmmeters. The exact symptom, in my situation: -I turn on the ignition switch, depress the clutch lever, depress the starter button, both neutral and oil pressure lights dim, nothing else. If I do not immediately release the starter button, the 15 Amps "key switch" fuse #4, described in the workshop manual page 46 in chapter 17 fuse terminal board, blows. Every time. Following your proposed trouble shooting root causes, I am convinced the switch is the culprit, but I will run the tests to exclude all the possibilities. The battery is new, and the terminals and connections do not exhibit any trace of oxidation. I took them off for good measure.

And Norton too...

As I type, I have not seen the inside of the ignition switch installed on my Le Mans; I can't tell what is wrong with it, and I until I open it and gets a visual check, then I will maybe get a better understanding. My experience with Dielectric grease mostly come from installing logging heads on mono and heptacables to be run in oil wells. Conductors have to be completely insulated from either the well effluent, or the drilling mud. Including under pressure. So after the logging head is built, you pump it full of Dielectric silicone grease. And for that, we used Molykote 4 which is one of the compound you suggest in your write up.... I had my share of aborted runs due to insulation losses.... which invariably ends in the company man's office and a good reason to always have a tube of Vaseline handy.... Back to the V11, I did a test today. I let the Guzzi outside of the garage, and right on cue, no start when pushing the starter button. A few on/off, and eventually it cranked. I guess I confirmed the root cause, so I am going to need to get down to it, no other way around...

Agreed. I condone everything you say. VR46 really did a lot of PR work for the sport. There will always be a before him, and after him. It is going to be tough for Dorna to keep the interest alive. Future will tell! Undeniably Marquez, pre 2020 injury, had/has something no other rider have. Some of the saves he managed, his riding style wrestling the front to his will, just out of this world. If it was not for his 2020 injury, I am not entirely convinced he would not have been able to challenge the Ducati, even this year. Now, with yet another vision problem, it is going to tougher. 2021 started as a very open Championship, until Quartararo seized it. Francesco Bagnaia seems to now have mastered the Ducati, and next year should be interesting. When you look at the raw power difference between the Ducati and the Yamaha, and the difference between Fabio Quartararo's result and the other Yamaha riders, if I was Ducati, I would put Fabio Quartararo on a GP23.
