As published by Moto.it today, 26-Aug-2021 The new model will be presented at this year's EICMA in Milan. Follow the link and read the announcement which does not contain much specifications that can be verified. The engine architecture will be the same, its capacity 1000cc, and it will be water-cooled (most likely to satisfy with the progressing anti-pollution rules in Europe). There are some pics but taken from a distance, so not much more than what is said in the article.

I am saying this because there is some hate going around for Michelin; a lot of MotoGP riders are unhappy about the tires Michelin is supplying. They are complaining about the lack of reliability tire to tire. Most of the pilots are praying for the return of Bridgestone.

You do not need to have the same bank to do a "wire transfer". You just need the ABA, account number, Name, Address and bank name, and address of the branch where you wire the money. The Escrow is an additional safety, but it is not free; sometimes it is a percentage of the sum that will be put in the escrow. I would not use Western Union to transfer funds to pay for a motorbike. The Bank to Bank transfer has the advantage to disclose the identities of both the seller and the purchaser. More difficult to vanish in thin air. The ideal transaction would be for you to go there, and close the transaction on the "spot". Most banks have an app allowing you to do wire transfers. The seller is notified the funds have been deposited, and you sign the paperwork and you are good to go. This is how I sold my car on Autotrader. Actually, the guy transferred the money before coming to pick up. But he had met me at my house and he was confident. I would really recommend to meet the guy. I purchased my Le Mans from a dealership, and while they assured me the bike was ready to ride, when I got there, the odometer was not working. One last piece of advice; it is always better to ask written questions. For quality. You also use the phone to get a feel for who is it you are dealing with. But all the technical questions answered on email you keep. Phone calls can be subject to "misunderstandings".

My Le Mans has Pilot Road 2 too.... I have penciled a set of Road 5 next... but I still have some life left in the rear, and the front was new when I got the bike a few miles ago. So please, install the Road 5 and let me know how they hang, so we don't make the same mistake both of us...

Speaking of Peugeot, they have started to make motorcycles again. But they did not really push outside of the boundaries; they are presenting two "new" models: 125cc and 300cc. Merely trying to tap certain types of motorcycle's driver licensees, car drivers who get motorcycles with limited HP. -

Up to the 60's France was actually quite prolific in the manufacturing of motorcycles. A lot of different brands, some only making frames and purchasing engines. But since you asked, I want to bring back one very prestigious company: Gnome et Rhone. They started as an aircraft engine manufacturer, and was very successful. So successful that German Luftwaffe were one of their customer, direct or using German companies to manufacture the engine under license. After the war, Gnome et Rhone ventured into manufacturing motorcycles. Now, does that ring any bell? However, unlike BMW, Gnome et Rhone got nationalized by the French government. They became SNECMA, and then Safran. They still make rocket and aircraft engines, associated with G.E. to produce CFM Tubofans. If they had continued making motorcycles, who knows what would have happened.... -

There will always be room for "collector" vehicles in the gloomy future; hopefully. In Europe those are 30 years old minimum. But yes, from 2022, all vehicles that are going to be submitted for certification within the EU will have to have a speed limiter of some sorts. No technology has been imposed, and a simple over speed sound signal will be acceptable. And all the new cars to be sold from 2024 will need to be equipped with speed limiters. Nothing is said about older vehicles upgrading, but since cities are slowly but surely restricting access to "polluting" cars.... But this is not going to happen in the USA any time soon. -

Did you know that the first "working" motorcycle (allegedly) was patented by a French engineer? Louis-Guillaume Perreaux I have ridden on a Terrot motorcycle, but Peugeot purchased the company and killed the line later on. Unfortunately. I think the main issue was the lack of engines development in France. Excepted for Peugeot. Still, the French created some funny two wheels, such as the Velosolex a.k.a. Solex. Just as well known as the Citroën 2CV or DS. There were also an era where the Peugeot 205 GTI ruled in Europe too. But here in the USA, the only somewhat notorious French car used to be a Peugeot 403 convertible driven by Inspector Columbo. If you were interested, this one is a bargain at 83,000 EUR -

A very sexy car indeed. A friend of mine had one, and the main issue was it was only a two seats car. That interfered with the friendship and the social agenda. Since I came to H'town, I dreamed of acquiring a Citroën Mehari, which would really be the coolest thing to own next to a vintage Bronco? or maybe not; nevertheless, guess where you can locate Citroën Mehari in good condition? one of the coolest car you can get, and use every day. Look at the add, here in Texas, it could pass for a F150.... the orange color would stand out, and an air cooled 2 cylinder engine may sound a bit hollow.... -

It is an interesting point that I have been wondering about myself for years. I used to have an interest in old French cars, and most of my searches for vintage cars in daily use conditions led me to The Netherlands. I have a theory. When I worked there, first time in 1982, everywhere I went to, people spoke English. Even the Taxi drivers. It was explained to me, that movies shown on Dutch TV where never dubbed, unlike in most of the other European countries. And back in 1982, you could purchase a Tax Free car from The Netherlands, including a temporary Dutch registration valid for six months. Then you would have to pay the import duty in your own country, but the VAT would be calculated on a used car value, not a new car. As long as I remember, The Netherlands always had those kind of deals. I think they saw the value of being European even before the European Union was formed. It must have been a line of business they saw as profitable. If you were to look for an old Triumph, Jaguar, Aston Martin, 2CV Citroën, Alpha Romeo, what not, lots of the searches would end up there, in NL. -
If you peruse the forum, you will find a few threads discussing this sorry issue. Just above, I posted a link to a US based Veglia/ITI instruments' wizard. For you, since both speedo and odo are not working, it may be the angle drive. People with better experience in these matters will chime in I am sure.

Maverick Viñales and Yamaha have officially aborted their partnership. Maverick will not ride an M1 anymore. He has signed for Aprilia starting 2022. One year contract with option to continue. On another note, the Malaysian Grand-Prix has been cancelled. It will be replaced by an extra round at Misano Italy. This is a much welcome event for Valentino Rossi's fans. There is also a probability for the Grand-Prix of the America to be cancelled. Remaining the only "off-shore" Grand-Prix now. The logistics effort to displace the circus overseas may not bring enough return on investment?

I beg to differ; the culprit, at least in my opinion, are the entities that organize the events. I am going back to the 70's when 125,250,350,500, were racing on tracks with absolutely zero safety, and about zero leverage to change it. This is why we had so many death back then, simply organizers did not require the tracks to do anything to make the circuit safer. We lost some great guys; Renzo Pasolini, Jarno Saarinen, Didier Ravel, Jack Findlay, Michel Rougerie, Patrick Pons; I was there at the Charade circuit in 1973, when all the 500 stars, Agostini, Sheene threatened to not race because of the lack of safety for them. The FIM blackmailed the B list racers to never race again if they did not participate. Charade hosted both F1 and Motorcycles until 1974. I cannot speak about Pikes Peak, but I am well aware that Dorna owner of MotoGP and WSBK are mainly concerned about the economic aspect of the races. The BRNO track pulled out in 2021 invoking the 6MM Euros required by Dorna to host a Grand-Prix. Ok, they also needed to resurface the asphalt. When you think about some of the penalties, or lack thereof, the panel of stewards of MotoGP are laughable. Anyway, a lot of times, not all, car and motorcycle racing people share a passion for mechanical sports. Maybe not here in the USA. And possibly along the years, it has changed. But I used to go to both Le Mans races. 24 hours Cars and 24 hours Bikes and Bol d'Or.

Well, the "fees" as you said, have gotten completely out of reason. I have seen the event parking charges go from 5, to 10, to 15, to 20 and now 25 here in H'town. Next year's Rodeo will be the big tale tell. I would not be surprised to see $30. It is now cheaper to use share rides than to go with your own vehicle.

Good wisdom decision... I found my MG on Cycletrader.com.

I purchased that 3mm short drill in that optic, to make a pilot hole. As for pedestal drill, I checked with a workshop, but they said I would have to just bring the clamp to them, and they clearly weren't interested in going out of their way to help. Now that I have purchased all the tools, I will do it myself. Even if I am not perfectly perpendicular, I should still have enough threads to affix the instruments. I am not too thrilled with the option to hold anything by hand when you drill. For safety reasons.

@Lucky Phil The spacer that I purchased has an OD of 13mm for M6; only 3mm available to grip it. No matter the height of the spacer or boss, OD still 13mm. It is going to be challenging to grip hold something too high. The best bet would be the third one from the top.
