  1. My understanding, according to my favorite dealership, is that Moto Guzzi sale figures are low in the USA, which I don't have trouble to believe. I would suspect that Piaggio's market studies are based on the European market. The best sellers in Europe are the adventure bikes; We will most likely have to wait one more year to see if Moto Guzzi will come up with a sporty V100. As of my typing, I have to sadly say that I have not seen a single V100 around. And Paris is a bustling motorcycle city. I have seen many V85TT though. I don't know if that means anything. Maybe @v11_meticcio will be able to ask a Piaggio official at EICMA, if he goes to the show. Providing he can get an answer. Nevertheless, I like the air cooled Guzzi engines more.
  2. I concur. You can count on having the Stelvio coming out with a full line of travel accessories.
  3. I feel the same. The only sports models that sell are the retro café racer looking bikes. I think Piaggio has chosen to use the V7 series for that purpose. In Texas, the scene is pretty much Harley Davidson and Indian oriented, based on what I see around. The sports bikes are usually ridden by a specific trench of the population. Some of them with the longer back frame. I have seen several Hayabusa like this. But who knows.
  4. EICMA = Esposizione Internazionale Ciclo, Motociclo e Accessori Only BMW is not at this year's EICMA. KTM has returned. @v11_meticcio you can park your moto undercover and for free at the PM1, West entrance (I suppose you know that already). Giovedì 9 novembre 2023 dalle 9.30 alle 18.30 Venerdì 10 novembre 2023 dalle 9.30 alle 18.30 Sabato 11 novembre 2023 dalle 9.30 alle 18.30 Domenica 12 novembre 2023 dalle 9.30 alle 18.30 I decided against taking a fast train to Milano, because of a landslide in the Maurienne valley; trains take another route that makes the journey considerably longer. I can't make it in a single day back and forth.
  5. Sunlight dulls your paint, makes your plastics brittle. If I leave my car open and under the sun, I can oven Brisket on the seats. I carry some seatBrella covers as a palliative for those moments.
  6. Direct sunlight is what ages your rubbers... I don't know if you have them in Germany, but when I was a kid, on the French Riviera, you had these seniors who had taken too much sun during their lives, and looking like old oranges. Speaking of oranges, I prefer the darker orange tint (if no red) of the later years, Sienna was it? the darker "Laterite" a better match with my taste.
  7. I try to be rational and patient. When I started to look for a Le Mans, I resisted better deals because I wanted it red. Sometimes paying less ends up costing more.
  8. I did have a time to drop a line to the seller; This Stelvio was in storage for 5 years in a trailer. No maintenance, no startup, no ride. There are a lot of unknowns. He cleaned the tank, changed the fluids. Is it sufficient? what else should be looked at? Starting up myself...
  9. Thanks for the tip!! Currently in Paris (France), checking out all the Motorcycle stores and replenishing my riding gear...
  10. I made no argument here. My answer was on a joking tone which is always difficult to express through pixels on a screen. Independently to where the initial post fits in the Forum.
  11. I thought we were a philosophical group, with a very large heart and arms ready to embrace. Not a gang of Illuminati.... I will keep that California EV close to my own chest then....
  12. I don't spend that much time at idle though....
  13. When does it become a "fast idle"? mine is below 1000 rpm. Is it considered slow? Guzzi says 1200 rpm but I like my below 1000 idle.
  14. This is a beautiful bike cosmetically at least. Still a V11 so it belongs here in the forum. It seems cheap too. https://www.cycletrader.com/listing/2001-Moto+Guzzi-CALIFORNIA+EV-5028126182
  15. But she could not pronounce Guzzi the proper way. That was quite a let down; at least for me.
  16. You know you can watch MotoGP on ServusTV the Redbull channel. But you need VPN to set yourself in Austria.
  17. It seems that TLM is a dealership worth of a visit, if only to have a look at their Moto Guzzi livestock.
  18. Jonathan Rea leaves Kawasaki for Yamaha starting from next WorldSBK season. This was my attempt to humor...
  19. Jonathan Rea disagrees...
  20. There are a few more upgrades to the GP than purely cosmetics though. To be confirmed because Yamaha has not yet finalized what the production model will be. The TFT display is supposed to be larger, 5 inches, instead of XSR's 3.5 inches. However, if I really want to be picky, I like the GP fairing (a la Le Mans) more than the optics cowl as shown in the kit above. Anyway, even if I really like the concept, I doubt I would purchase one. It is probably fun to ride the first few times, but once the novelty wears out, then it becomes one more too many.
  21. It really hits hard, isn't it? it is probably being shown at EICMA. Even if it is the pre-production model, it is really enticing. I love the 3 cylinders architecture. The XSR 900 is sold in the USA, I am hoping the GP will come too, but it is not a given. I just looked at all the features of the XSR 900, and the list is impressive. It seems they have incorporated some of the technology available in their racing bikes.
  22. Unfortunately, may never be imported in the USA! This is genius from Yamaha to appeal to the nostalgia slumber some of us still experience. Not as noble as a V11, but still fascinating. Is this Luca Cadalora?
  23. It looks like Jorge Martin is giving Francesco Bagnaia a run for his money. At least for the sprint races. Tomorrow's race will be interesting. Now only 18 points between them, and Jorge seems to be coming on top each time. Especially during qualifying which is so important. Starting sixth for Pecco presents a lot of adverse parameters.
  24. "Deutche Grammophon" is a solid brand for audio. Given that Lang Lang married a German virtuosa Pianist, he must be spending plenty of time in Germany, even if I think he is based in Paris somewhere.
