Well, the travel does not mean much. The landscape is different, but the greatest discovery are the people you meet. This is probably the illuminating experience I retained from having lived in different places. There are plenty of places which I would love to go back to, and explore again on a motorcycle.

@guzzler After viewing "Priscilla Queen of the Desert" several times, I always dreamed of doing that same trip on a motorcycle. I had once the opportunity to be transferred to Australia, but ended up in Kazakhstan instead; by the way, another place in the world very prone to discovery on a motorcycle. Somehow, I am really resilient to extreme heat, and I can ride under the scalding conditions we often experience here. But that does not make the ride more pleasant. Any kind of jacket, vented, mesh what not, is heavier than the Elite which weight can be compared to that of a T-shirt. Unlike a T-shirt, it is tight on your body, so the cooling effect is subdued. Yesterday, I rode with it directly on my skin, and verified it is not a good idea. You still need an undergarment to absorb moisture. This is where the SIXS shirts come handy. Unfortunately, none of those brands are distributed in the USA.

@Chuck is it STOL? Can you land it using your 5 meters garage driveway?

hmm... Usually, updated software versions propose new functionalities that nobody required, supposedly enhancements of existing features that worked perfectly before, fixes the bugs, and of course introduce new bugs that will require fixing in the subsequent version. I fully get your hesitation. However, on my MacBook, the run window no longer espouses the display size; and of course, I still can't talk to the interface.

As promised before, here's a (46 minutes) video of my (boring) ride from Medina to Leakey in Texas... This took place in May 26th, within the Motorcycle Grand Tour of Texas 2023. The video image quality is poor, unfortunately, due to vibrations. I used a dampener, but it did not really filtrate anything; rather, I think it made the viewing worse. Another issue I experienced is that my DGI Osmo pocket 2, equipped with gimbals, cannot take the wind pressure. The gimbals lock up. Even if located behind the screen, there was enough buffeting to stop the recording each time I would go above 40 mph. I ran some tests before, as my intention was to provide footage of a Moto Guzzi V11 Le Mans. Unfortunately my tests were not ran at normal speed, so I did not discover the gimbals lockup until I was running on the 337. Editing and publishing the video is another ordeal. Manipulating large files, uploading large files require better computer power than what I currently have. Anyway, here's the footage. I suggest you watch it while you have coffee in the morning, before you go to work. Put it on your TV screen, and let it run in the background.... for 46 minutes lol....

ha! it seems that the version I was trying to run is an older build. Thanks!

It is absolutely impossible to wear a leather jacket in Texas' humid heat. The standard uniform here, save for maybe a few weeks in February, shorts and T-shirt. Male and Female. Maximum temperature today: 99 degF 37 degC; plus humidity. Next week, we are going to go above 100 deg, as they call it here: in the triple digits... Riding a motorcycle is particularly body stressing. If I get a second motorcycle, you are welcome to visit! I will take you on the Texas roads all the way to Leakey from Bandera. We will do the twisted sisters. Let's see how long you will be wearing your leather jacket.... :-)

They have obtained that CE certification, which is already better than any of the jackets in my possession. None of my jackets have been manufactured against any standard, either US or CE. I can propose this information from FEMA (Federation of European Motorcyclists' Associations) about the new standard. The European Standard EN 17092-1:2020 part 1 describes the test methods the garment has to be subjected; unfortunately, as with the API standards, they are not free to consult, you need to purchase them. I only found Part 4 for free consult: here I searched for Part 1 which contains all the tests without success.

@Chuck nice "Aquila" on the dash top... You are aware that you could use your Guzzi V too; having it in front of your eyes permanently would compliment the eagle!

I have now done some mileage using the Bowtex Elite Shirt and I can vouch that it is so far the best solution to address the humid heat, at least here, in Texas. I wore it while in the upper 50's, lower 60's, to check how it let air go through. It is more efficient than a jacket, especially a lot lighter not much different of a T-shirt with long sleeves, but with protections and anti-abrasive fabric. Yesterday, in 97 degF (36 degC) felt temperatures, it was bearable. Much more than any of my so-called summer jackets. Simply because you could wear it with one of the SIXS T-shirt, lighter than a T-shirt. I am not going to pretend that you don't feel hot. You do. Now, because it is almost weightless, once you are in motion, the air goes circulates including through the neck opening and offers the best ventilation I got to experience in a tight garment. There are no pockets, excepted those to fit the protections. I am now using it exclusively to any other jacket. It could probably be worn directly on the skin, I have not yet tried that, but in exchanges with Bowtex customer service, I was told that many use it as an underlayer while riding better tempered climates. While new, I thought it was undersized. It fits better now, however I would probably go for XL on my next purchase. I wear medium in the USA, which makes it a large by European standards.

What tires was your Quota equipped with? I am concerned with the tubed tires in my environment. Houston is rife with those pickup trucks carrying roofing supplies loosely and spraying roads with just about everything ranging from mattresses, ladders, washing machines, furniture... these items often being involuntarily sowed on every road. A puncture on a tubeless is not as dire as they want you to think, nevertheless it can be dangerous if you fail to feel it in the early stage....

I think the intake ducts of carburetors really go well on an engine. I miss that, since fuel injection rules the modern world. Don't you agree? those carburetors completely entice the appearance.

What version of GuzziDiag for MacOS? What version of Catalina? I am wondering if the split screen that was added, which allows you to have two windows juxtaposed side by side is not messing up with GuzziDiag. The "Green" button in the upper left corner of the window is missing on the GuzziDiag window. The one that says "Full screen" "split left" split right".

@audiomick I am running MacOS Catalina 10.15.7; this is the highest version that can be installed on this 10 years old MacBook Pro equipped with an 2.4 GHz Intel I5. When I launched GuzziDiag V 0.47, it does not auto format for my screen size. Part of the window is outside of real estate, and the window size cannot be adjusted. But it launches without crashing. The view button does not work either. Probably easier to purchase an old MS based computer.

It does not run the first time, but it does the second time. I think it is some malware protection built in MacOS that verifies that you really want to run a program which has not been downloaded from an Apple approved server. However, I have not yet managed to communicate with the interface because you need to assign and open a port. I should believe the software does it, but Apple has probably built a protection to prevent it when the software is not approved by them.

The French journal that published the test drive that I reported recently said the Moto Guzzi decal on the tank was coming off too. Paint coming away could indicate a poor preparation of the surface before the job. Let's hope that Piaggio has a QA/QC department, as it should, and will remedy at the manufacturing level wherever that is.

Once you find the culprit, can you take some pics to document it?

Mine wobbles too. I used a gas leak detection aerosol to find out if the wobble was more than just that. The Quota's I saw on Friday had its solid; solid as a rock! I thought how strange they get it right before, and make it worse later? This video describes it perfectly....

Nice! I wish we had a bridge to cross-over to participate to these "other side" events... I remember when shipping your motorcycle back and from was as cheap as purchasing a train ticket. I did not see any V100 Mandello in the bunch; I am certain you guys talked about it... what's the (German) word about them, then?
