This is what the association "Les Motards en colère" did in France; when motorcycle insurances started to impose restrictions on who they would insure, and prices became prohibitive, they started "La Mutuelle des Motards"; I do not know how competitive their prices are today; My annual insurance for the V11 2004 is USD 302.00. Full coverage though...

Marquez will not compete at Jerez either. He is expected to resume at Le Mans. Doctors said his bones have not yet consolidated enough.

I did not watch it, but it is also available on A.com; Warner Bros will make a MotoGP inspired movie too: https://www.msn.com/en-us/movies/news/warner-bros-to-produce-motogp-inspired-feature-film/ar-AA1agb6e

I did not know for Germany, or other European countries; I did not want to make assumptions. Europeans are supposed to be governed by the same rules, but there are so many exemptions. For example, French motorcyclist are exempted from the yearly technical inspection. They are fighting hard to keep this privilege.

@Grim The internals, e.g. the sprockets and worm screw are swaged in a preformed structure. Probably cold stamped. There is zero adjustment possible. If the driven sprocket is not perfectly lined up with the worm clamp, then it grinds itself until there aren't enough teeth height left. Or, until one or more tooth fail and the sprocket stops turning at that point. Even if the driven sprocket was made of steel, it would still eventually fail. The system works, since in the majority of the cases, the wheels are properly aligned. But in multiple cases, they aren't as the cheap built way does not account for variables. What was surprising, is that Guzzi knew it was failure prone, and that an odometer is important, because it is one of the parameter that is determining the value of the vehicle. I don't know what is the percentage of affected odometers. I don't have a clue about the real/actual mileage of my V11 Le Mans. I doubt very much it only had 8,800 miles when I purchased it, in December 2020. The 8,800 indicates when the Odometer failed, that was accurate. I was wondering how my predecessor could go through the state inspection when the mileage was not increasing... I suppose the State does not care? In France, a non working odometer means you fail the technical control. What about elsewhere? nobody checks?

2023 MotoAmerica Medallia SuperBike Racing
p6x replied to Joe's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
Wow! it was a miracle that Josh Herrin did not collide with Cameron Beaubier when he crossed the track... this was really scary and had the potential of serious injury for both pilots. He really missed Beaubier by the skin of the teeth! I think Jack Gagné should get himself a Ducati. Yamaha seemed to have gone back into making musical instruments. MotoGP, Superbikes. Each time there are going to be longer straights, Gagné will have to ride hard to keep up. What is the story with all these bikes catching fire? they run on phosphorus? -

I watched the two heats; It seems that Cameron Beaubier learned one thing or two from his Moto2 stint, combined with the BMW legs. Heat 2 was really epic! I have not listened to the debrief, but it seemed like Beaubier touched Josh Herrin and Gagné took the opportunity to get the win... Again, the Yamaha seems to be lacking top speed, just as in MotoGP. Like in WorldSuperbike, MotoGP, the Ducati seemed to be the best package in good hands. Not to put down Petrucci, but Herrin was really giving Beaubier a hard time. -
If it can be of any help, my V11 Le Mans 2004 exhibits the same "coughing" are around 3000 rpm, sometimes below that too. Yesterday I did about a 130 miles run, in an acceptable temperature. The "coughing" happens less than when the temperature is in the 90's and more. I have StayInTune exhausts without the DB killers. That is how I got the bike. In any case, since I started to ride it, the engine missing at about 3000 rpm, sometimes less always was there. While I don't like it, I have not yet been able to do anything about it. However it is on my "Todo" list for this end of year.

I purchased the interface, downloaded and unzipped the software. I am using an old MacBook Pro from late 2011 that runs an older version of MacOS. The software runs, but I can't get communication with the interface. I should assign the port directly in UNIX, but I have not gotten around to do it.

Nope... I asked them the reason, and they answered because of some liability clause they need to sell it directly to the USA, that requires a special insurance coverage. I don't know if this is true, or they have a deal with MG Cycle.

Correct. I purchased mine https://www.mgcycle.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=2995

Missing "rear brake" lens, but the photo does not shot it missing; Could this mean the photos on the add are not of the bike in its current status?

I take that you are using a computer running Microsoft OS?

As a user of photo and designer's application, I use colors a lot. Each color is easily represented by HTML or HEX color codes. I could easily upload a Tenni photo in my app. and get the color shown in the photo. But this is not the most accurate way. Unfortunately, most paint makers do not provide the exact color code to the public. Of course not! The color is always referenced to their own product catalogue. Maybe the V100S Green is the same as the Tenni? I am going to send them an email to verify if I can get a color code rather than a Lechler product reference.

Well, each bike is different. The turn radii are different, rake, trail, wheelbase, everything comes into play. Especially when the exercises are conceived for a particular type of bike. In any case, I will let you know how it went. This is going to be a first for me, doing this type of exercises with a +500 lbs motorcycle.

This week-end I am going to participate to that advanced course, dispensed by police motor trainers, either active or retired. I have watched their videos and they use BMW's or Harley's. Has anybody here done any of these exercises on Moto Guzzi and other bikes? are there any perceptible differences in terms of managing the fact the Guzzi has the cylinders hanging on each sides? I have done some of these exercises in 2021, when I took a refresher course. But I used a very light 125cc single cylinder bike. the "keyhole" "Double 360" "W" seem to be rather challenging. Is there any difference in doing those with a Guzzi? I am thinking about the "tilting moment" that is experienced on a Guzzi engine. I think the key is to keep the engine revving at the same rpm throughout the exercises. A sudden throttle blip may influence your direction. Something you don't have to mitigate with on a Harley or BMW. Exercises: Exercise #1 – Straight Line Cone Weave Exercise #2 – Offset Cone Weave Exercise #3 – U-Turns Exercise #4 – Right / Left Turn From A Stop Exercise #5 – Keyhole Exercise #6 – Double 360 Exercise #7 – Intersection(Iron Cross) Exercise #8 – The W Bonus Exercise – This will be several cone patterns put together

I love the color!

Since I live here, I purchase a lot of "used" gear on eBay. Of course, I would not purchase a preowned helmet, but in my never ending quest to Texas acceptable riding equipment, it turns out an excellent choice. I do purchase new gear too, but I tend to give away gear that I no longer use. Even if my main riding jacket is one that I purchased in 2003. I also have an Alpinestars Tech-Air 5 airbag which I only wore a single time. Unfortunately the weather in Texas does not accommodate wearing an airbag underneath your riding jacket, and the airbag cannot be worn on its own. So maybe a path to explore? selling the gear you no longer use on eBay? for garment, you just need to get them dry cleaned and sanitized. I purchased two jackets and did not get any "strange" smell.

It should be interesting to find out what could happen if MM93 was to change ride to KTM... Pedro Acosta has been the coveted KTM golden boy, but if Marc Marquez was to go that route, maybe Pedro could be tempted. Isn't Honda with Red Bull too?
