Moto Guzzi V100 Sport Tourer: water cooled, 120 HP (26th of August 2021)

They are so worth it, Nikko. Stock Nissin brakes are not up to task of slowing down such inertia from dizzying speeds the Daytona 1200 is easily capable of. 100mph feels relaxed, like 70mph. 70mph, feels little more than idling down the motorway. Would recommend. Needs Alcon TR-6 brakes though...but not for $800 US per side... -

You know, I am just grateful Guzzi built the V11 LeMans. I guess I'm a knuckle-dragging cave dwelling ape, but I think every car and motorcycle I will ever own has already been built. I just can't get worked up with anticipation over TFT screens, ABS, TC, quick shifters, heated grips, GPS, Bluetooth, etc. I'm glad I got a V11 so I can experience and preserve the classic air-cooled Guzzi V Twin experience for myself moving forward into the impending dystopian, anti-DIY hell... EFI? 6 speed gearbox? Digital ignition system? Analog gauges? No tubes in my tires? That's as new as I will tolerate. I can hardly accept water-cooled engines. I am a dinosaur. Rawr. -
I've heard a MAGNI fairing kit is around $1500 USD...so pretty dear, price wise, but, if you are like me... you justify such prices to reward companies such as MAGNI for catering to our niche bikes...and if you are also like me, you become disgusted with the thought of putting Chinese eBay trash on such a lovely motorcycle, such as a V11. I'd contact MAGNI directly to get a current price. With import duty, tariffs, the price will probably be ugly, even though the kit is heavenly.

Finally! The shipper picked up my V11 Sport from Texas today. No ETA yet, but she's on her way to my Guzzi dealer! Woooooo!!!

This bike is going to be a headache for the GS if the quality matches what I'm seeing. -

That green is tasty, and I really like the wheels. -
... and our souls are enriched by this as Guzzi owners...while our wallets curse us. 😆 If running a Guzzi is anything like a Ducati, I've a grasp on what to expect. $$$ To be fair, so far, parts aren't that bad. Then again, I don't yet need to buy a TPS for the V11... which is over $400 USD. That is a big ouchy.

I get this same impression about the design brief for the V100. I'm sure it will sell very well. I mean, how many bikes globally does Guzzi sell anyway? 30k? They want to grow. They want conquest sales, which is working for their V85TT, so good for them. But Piagio, don't forget the people who kept the brand alive when times were (repeatedly) bad...Throw us a nod of acknowledgement with a retro-styled LeMans. That's my hope. -
I keep hearing that MAGNI, Mistral and Staintune are the best options for the V11 if you really want some great music flowing from the engine.

Yes, hope springs eternal. I am sure they will build another worthy successor to carry the LeMans name. It can be Guzzi's flagship halo bike. This machine, though? It's not lighting my fire. I'm sure it's great, but it seems a bit too much of a bland styling exercise and has none of the verve that Guzzi bikes are known for when you look at them. You could throw "HONDA" on the tank, and call it the CX100, and I wouldn't know the difference. Don't give Honda any ideas! EDIT: Okay, it looks a LOT better in motion on film. It looks damn high quality, but the style is a bit interchangeable with so many other bikes (aside from the engine, of course). I have high hopes for the new Guzzis! -
Only if I can get that sweet kit in factory matched black for my V11 Sport. Otherwise, the factory GIVI bikini fairing isn't so bad.
-
Likewise. Got a startup video. No smoke, ran and idled like a champ. Took a leap of faith, as I said. At least cosmetics will not need any attention to bring the bike's dignity to where a Guzzi truly belongs. Bike is a 9.5/10... Looks nearly new.

The only thing more messed up would be if the engine was seized. "Sorry, AS-IS."

Guess I'll have to do without. 😂

I am learning this now. 1 week, no word on the company or pickup date...not cool guys.

I had a budget of money and miles, my friend.

If I were truly lucky, I would have found a minty, low-mile LeMans within 20 miles of my house for $3k from someone who "didn't know what they had"/estate sale...Instead, locally, all I found were V11s beat to hell and back with no care from the owners. Most wanted CLEAN V11 prices for bikes falling apart that needed $2k in work just mechanically. Keep waiting, buddy. I'm sure your sucker will be along any minute now...If I am honest, the two V11s I saw in person were running parts bikes. Out of almost desperation, I looked nationally to find the cleanest, lowest-mileage V11/LeMans (within my $6k budget), and on faith bought one, over the phone, 1900 miles away. Talk about stupid. I'm still waiting on the shipper to pull his head out his bottom and get my bike shipped to me. When it arrives, I suspect it will need $1k in tires, fluids, seals, etc. before it is turn-key. I wish I was a lucky guy. You know who is the lucky guy? The guy with the minty Rosso Mandello in NH. I'd like to be that guy! I'd like to get at least one nice, long ride on my V11 before Winter sets in and the bike can't see sunlight until April/May '22...
