  1. Thanks, are you saying the rear wheel should spin pretty easily in 6th when elevated on a stand? That is not the case here.
  2. I could not get the V11 Sport to start today. So, I tried to bump start it in 2nd - this always works - and the rear wheel just skidded. When I put the bike up on a stand, should I be able to spin the rear wheel relatively easily? I can only get it to move about 1/4 of a turn in 6th. Thanks, Bob
  3. The 1st thing to check is the battery connections. A slightly loose connection on a throbbing V11 can produce the "cutting out" symptoms you describe.
  4. Try MG Cycle (Partnum 01603400) this may be what you are looking for, or maybe you are looking for only a fraction of this assembly
  5. I have had the Rossopurro reaction rod on my 2001 V11 for years with some reasonably heavy cornering both on and off the track - with no issues.
  6. I added a HyperPro rear shock to my V11
  7. I fitted some hand guards made for a BMW R 100GS to my V11. The goal was to keep my hands warm here in the winter. It was an easy job, just had to get longer bolts and some spacers. I used zip ties for additional bracing. They make a lot of difference and I can wear my summer gloves when it is above 45 degrees F now. See attached images if interested.

    WORTH $5500

    Good for you!!
  9. Very well done. And another note re: Guzzis vs Japanese bikes: On the track, we may get passed on the straightaways, but we can still get them in the corners!

    Crinkly Tank

Looks like pesky Ethanol damage there. Is there a source for aluminum fuel tanks for the V11??
  11. I wonder if the fuel might be bad since it is a new bike, was sitting for God knows how long etc.
  12. Well, I seem to replace my battery every 2-3 years. 39K miles on the bike.
  13. I have an aftermarket charging indicator on my bike (a multi-color LED) and I get the same behavior and think that the V11 simply operates on the margin of charging at low RPM's. If true, this means one could theoretically discharge the battery from extended low speed riding, for example.
  14. hi - welcome and hey maybe it was my bike you saw in Seattle on I5 (mentioned in your post)!

  15. That bike looks good, maybe add some bar ends Bob
  16. So sad to see this.
  17. Doh! yes it is there - my bad
  18. Does anyone know the model # of the Shorai battery that would work in a V11? Thanks, Bob

  21. I sometimes have same "issue' but I just ignore it. I do not correlate it with engine temp, I think it is more a function of low RPM. And I do not know what causes the false positives on the nuetral and out of fuel lights.
  22. Bump 2012: So has anyone tried the Shorai on a V11 here? They are way lighter... Link to Shorai battery description for V11
