  1. So sorry to hear this. obviously it is good that you are OK physically. But the bike.... Are saying you were on new tyres? This might explain the sudden loss of traction. Bob
  2. There is a very good handling bike waiting to be discovered - please invest the time to reveal it and the rewards will be large. I can put my V11 front end into a corner with the confidence that it can handle more than I can... Bob
  3. I hope to see you on the road, love that anti-freeze green V11 Am not far away from you in Ballard... Bob
  4. Good to have you back Al. I have your instructions for removing the gas tank pinned to my garage wall. I just had my Volvo wagon totalled from a rear ender. Funny to think we both have/had V11 and a Volvo wagon. Hang in there man. Bob
  5. Warning: do not attempt to sort this while driving!
  6. my first thought was "gee did someone hack MY account and make a posting on my behalf that I was unaware of" but now I think it went out to all members even it was addressed "individually" I remain loyal to the forum - did not upset me Bob
  7. Kind of strange to post on the V11 forum but as a V11 owner I would like to think it is OK to mention a bike of possible interest to others similarly inclined. So, I got a look at the new BMW HP2 Sport at the Seattle Cycle show recently. It was my favorite bike of the entire show. Of course I haven't ridden the thing. I do not have pictures of my own for this bike but here is a link to some info on this amazing bike: BMW HP2 Sport review The bike is very light and balances easily between the knees. The riding position is similar to a V11 Sport, not super aggressive [but certainly not upright]. The rear headlight holder of CF is a work of art. The triple clamp is beautifully machined (image is in article). The rearsets are gorgeous. Quality much in evidence. People were standing around with their jaws on the floor looking at this bike. The price is high - estimated to be 26-28K USD in the States when it arrives. My 2 cents is this bike is a winner. Happy V11 owner (still) Bob p.s. 130 bhp
  8. If you are a qualified Guzzi rider it you would probably have a better chance of finding someone who would loan you a steed from their stable than renting one. Motorcycle renting is not a big business in the US - we are too afraid of litigation. You are doing well to make you wishes known here in this forum. I wish you luck!
  9. OK, I like this bike. Is it coming to North America?

  11. I recommend getting the new cans before or as you buy the PCIII and then when you order the PCIII you may be able to get the right map pre-installed on it if you order from the right source e.g. GuzziTech. You may want to open up the breathing a bit too - I like the K&N's. I totally recommend the PCIII. Good luck - this will all make a huge difference in your bike. Bob
  12. I have a V11 Sport and suffer from battery drain due to a Gerbing vest. I have an Oddesey battery. I drive typically at 3-4500 RPM. Ok, maybe a little higher. This is town driving. My solution is a trickle charger at night and avoiding turning off the engine at any cost during a winter ride. If you do stop the engine, it needs to be at the top of a hill.... Bob
  13. Hey that could happen to anybody...that slo-mo feeling when she went over must've been bad but at least you weren't injured. These bikes have a lot of mass.
  14. I am happy with the forum. There is just enough non-Guzzi talk to keep things interesting. There is only so much to say about these bikes that we are obsessed with too. Wait, no, this could go on forever.
  15. Yes, my Veglia died at 12K miles and now my replacement sometimes does not work for 3 seconds or so - a grounding problem but I cannot find it. I decided to live with it, it really harms nothing.
  16. I would remind you to wipe them mosquitos from the headlamps but there is still enuf daylight left to not worry about it too much. I grew up in Alaska, rode a Hodaka back then and yes rode all over that State on that 125CC bike (both trails and the highway system). Good for you guys! Bob
  17. Nice paint job. Those prices seem to me too. Bob P.S. Totally unfair comment: but I recall hearing beware of electrical gremlins with this model
  18. Ok, here goes 120 miles when I bought it Speedo says 10,200 miles But my odometer did not work for another 6000 miles No long trips, this is hundreds of short rides never stranded 2001 V11, black
  19. I humbly urge you to try the stock riding position for 1000 miles/ 1600 km before modifying. The stock position is actually quite good once you adjust to it. Bob
  20. Are the ones made in Spain ok then? I have this tyre on the front. Bob
  21. OK, not a great picture but...Pazzo levers on 2001 MG V11 Sport black with Gold adjusters I like them alot, better adjustment, slightly thinner to the touch, they look better Bob sorry about image quality
  22. I am a huge Todd fan. have met him also. Sgt Pepper is, in the end, a "10" I am in Seattle, and yes Nevermind is an awesome album. I remember hearing it for the 1st time in a poster store in San Francisco and asking the clerk, "uh, who is that?" But, let us not forget "Who's next" by The Who I also will put Oasis and even Jet on my "desert island" collection. The best Beatles album for me is 'Revolver" And the best Stones album (hardly listen to them ever now) is.....Beggar's Banquet Thank you for listening Those new levers I bought this week from this Forum are so cool....
  23. ATGATT! all the gear, all the time just don't even think about riding any other way
  24. OK a guess Cimatti 50cc?
  25. Palo Alto Speed no longer works on the white faced Veglias I attempted to fix mine myself, was able to get off the metal rim etc. etc. but never could get it to actually work again. Finally ordered another from MGCycle - took awhile to arrive but it works great. I really really missed having a tach. I have an '01 and the new tach has a slightly longer barrel and thus sticks up a little from the instrument panel. Nobody but somone on this forum would notice, i have chalked it up to "character" and moved on Bob
