  1. Charging system too weak, especially at idle? Low voltage high current could eat the relay coils and be the source of the heat. Wrong voltage relay coil, circuit has a short to ground?
  2. The power of the 650 single was comparable to the RE twin, it also sounds good. One of the coolest features of the British Small Arms Goldstar 650 were the clocks turning “under”.
  3. RossoAndy- my bike is at-least a 4 owner lower mileage example that sat in a garage for about 8+yrs before Shaun bought it and got it running again. That said, many new parts have been installed in the last two years of my ownership. The rear tail has has touch up respray some time ago and looks dull, the front carbon fender could use a clear coat spray to bring it back as it’s dull too. As we have taken the bike apart to repair it, I have obsessively cleaned & detailed on it. There are detailer sprays on the market that bring the shine back and make a big impact. When most people approach the bike they comment how clean it is for its age, some argue it can’t be 22yrs old. I get the desire to make it perfect, but it would be a tall ask to replicate the same assortment of colors and get the results you would demand. When someone resprays a Rosso, even if it’s just the valve covers, it’s the first thing I see on their bike as standing out for all the wrong reasons. ✅ My vote is clean detailed to shine again patina.
  4. I really like the BSA Goldstar 650-
  5. My valve covers are faded like most Rosso's. Since most people don't color match the original paint correctly for resprays, I'd rather run them faded.
  6. Al, I’ve owned two V11 Sports w Mph riser kits. Your right the original early version had MPH scribed on them, the later has the Eagle which I prefer. Docc/Al, when Kale & I ride down to Spring SSR, you will be able to see both V11 Sports and riser kits.
  7. Al, you won't regret installing the MPH Riser Kit, easy reach. I had to buy a stainless clutch hose for a Centauro which was a little longer than the one provided in the kit.
  8. Audiomick, that was a late run to the gas station for beer run. Mind you that any real selection is 45 minute ride from Tellico Plains. Since it was happy hour, I choose Corona as the most premium found in that Shell gas station “beer walk-in cooler”. I.E. selection was nada, zilch.
  9. Docc, like the valve covers that were resprayed on that bike. Maybe the stock silver was rattle can sprayed to “clean up the look of the bike”. Unfortunately it took some of the originality off the bike. I had leaned toward the same idea until learning the Rosso came in silver originally.
  10. It’s a Ventura, high quality L- bracket system. I have two sizes(they make many sizes) of bags to choose from, a 27L and the infamous steamer trunk expandable to 60L that I had at SSR 22”. I might as well wore the cone of shame until I it came in handy on a validating tech sessions beer run.
  11. Al, was it stock or add on?
  12. Also installed Joe Kenny head guards, they look good against the patina'd Rosso valve covers..
  13. Took the DB killers out of the Mivvs today, she is woke now , wow, I like the engine braking almost as much as acceleration. She ain't stock now..... Plus I have an oil cooler guard, in silver I've only owned this bike about a year & a half...
  14. I would probably have Jim Hamlin rebuild the front forks and replace the rear shock to set it up properly for two. I agree with PJPRP01 about installing a Corbin seat, possibly w heat. Other than that I found a low mileage 2V Norge, clean overall condition at a good price, need to make a deal first.
  15. Does a Norge make for good two up riding? Also is there enough rear seat leg room for a taller rider? Nicole/wife has 34 inseam, worried she would have enough room to foot pegs. Are there lowering rear foot peg kits?
  16. Just an update, we will have quite a few people stopping by or staying at the spring KSR. So far Bill, Kale, my father(78) and myself are in the cabin. We will try to accommodate almost anyone and will have a garage space for the "tech Sessions" and maybe a fire pit in the back yard. If everyone arrives I anticipate 15+ for the rides and kicking tires, as I have quite of few riding buddies(Triumph/Moto Guzzi V85's) that will be attending the Euro Rally in Burkesville and plan on dropping by Saturday to kick tires and tip Bourbon. John Barnes and company are going to be riding down to Barber Motorsports Park on Friday and plan on stopping by also. All joking aside, we probably won't be fishing at all, (sorry Bill ) but you could if you like. Most likely my dad will trailer down his V7 850 Special, I will make sure we bring extra coolers for ice, and maybe try to cook brats or something on the grill. If everyone arrives I anticipate 15+ for the rides and kicking tires, which according to Docc is a successful SpineRaid. If you haven't made final plans its not too late to call and make reservations in the lodge or sleep on the couch. https://parks.ky.gov/burkesville/parks/resort/dale-hollow-lake-state-resort-park
  17. All that said, he captures the noise of his bike winding out the gears better than almost all Youtubers. Audio Mick please show us you sound setup on your motorcycle?
