It’s clear the seller is not knowledgeable about his bike, maybe he is selling for someone else or inherited the bike. All that said, IF it’s the same bike as in the photos in person, than it may be some type of time capsule bike. Lived in a garage for years, low mileage etc. Still a worthy bike to buy, but will need all new fluids, tires, battery to get it going. Next like Docc eluded to is once you start using a idle bike stuff will break or have issues. Technically, the bike I bought this year went down the same path, frustrating at times, definitely cost some money for parts & repair. But once sorted it’s a brilliant bike worthy of all the time and effort.

Royal Enfield Super Meteor 650 & Tourer. -
Ok, clean bike, but a red frame listed as an improved by Aprilia 2004. Good price, and again clean. https://portland.craigslist.org/mlt/mcy/7554713046.html

I bought my bike with the stock airbox and custom map, it runs great from idle to wide open, so I guess I got lucky.

Update, the cottage is booked for the Spring Kentucky Spine Raid, so we definitely have space for "repairs".

Ok, so the spring Kentucky Spine Raid is locked in for May 19th-21st. We are working on renting a cottage on the state park property that has a garage. You know, useful for most spine raid tech sessions. Along with the main lodge just down the road with a restaurant and bar we should be good to go. Anybody know any good roads/routes in the area?

"It's mission is to be a back roads looking at the scenery relaxing afternoon ride. And.. going to the store, parts chasing, etc. that will keep the miles off the increasingly rare Lario." Totally logical. -

Royal Enfield's are typically on a smaller scale of size and power. Sometimes I think that hurts their credibility, but as a former owner of a(smaller) MG T3, I like them. I sat on every model bike they make on Saturday, and the riding triangle for the Continental GT was perfect, felt just right (very similar to my V11 Sport Rosso Mandello). Then I rode the bike and was absolutely surprised by the quality of the machine. The brakes were great, the light weight played in the bike's favor. My plan would be to buy one and let Nicole learn to ride a motorcycle. At the same time I could ride with my "senior rider" dad on his 22 V7 850 Special, it will be perfect. I have a 850lb 2020 Indian Chieftain Limited bagger for the long ride two up. A Continental GT would be just for fun, and that's exactly what I had on a ten mile test ride Saturday. I hope this helps. -
So I sat on all of the Royal Enfield dealership selection repeatedly. I liked the Scram 411, the 350 Meteor sat good. But my heart dropped for a Ventura Storm Continental GT. So I went on a 10 mile test ride. I was really surprised by the initial quality impression. The power wouldn’t blow you away but was adequate and fun. The brakes by Brembo work brilliantly, and the bike feels a hundred pounds lighter than my dads 2022 V7 850 Special. The bike feels like it could run w that bike even if it’s only a 650. The transmission shifts quite a bit better also. Working on final approvals from financial advisor, aka my wife, will keep you posted. Oh yeah almost forgot, the riding triangle mimick’s the v11 Sport very closely.

Ironically tomorrow I’m going to pick up my Indian Chieftain at Indian Motorcycle of Lexington. Getting some service work done along w installing heated grips.😎The dealer also sells CFmoto & Royal Enfield. Chuck has absolutely inspired me to kick a leg over a 350 Classic & maybe a 650 Interceptor or Himalayan. 🤔
