  1. Here in SoCal, I paid $5.57, nearly twice what it was a couple of years ago.
  2. You sure can. I placed grease in each gear drive, as well as a few drops of lube into the cable.
  3. I recently chased similar problems. Upon reassemble with new parts, it still did not work …then it did. It seems they lock into each other rather obvious, but I repeatedly didn't have them fully engaged, thus not working. I ended up replacing both 60° gear units and the cable during my troubleshooting, it was actually the speedo-side gear that was broken. Keep at it, you'll figure it out.
  4. Impressive, not sure where I'd even begin to construct a minature can of WD40!
  5. I will now fuel with Premium. It really made a difference. On my 25 mile ride home, I repeatedly punched it with no pinging at all, at any speed. Who knew? …not me.
  6. Okay, after getting off the exit from my drive to work today, I filled up and it took 5.6 gallons at 206 miles. I filled with Premium. I'll learn more on my 25 mile drive home, but cruising the 2 miles from the gas station to my office, I'll say it was better as it would normally ping (sounds like change rattling) when I punch it. It didn't do it after my fill-up. I'll try it a few more times on the freeway home, when it's hot outside too.
  7. I rode to work again today, taking the freeway entrance/exits at high speed, OH BOY! That is so fun, handling mucho better!
  8. I'm such a fan of F9, never missing any of their post. I've never feared from high RPMs on any bike. On most V11 trips, I cruise about 4000-4500, but have no problem when getting up to speed hitting 7000.
  9. We'll, I believe I'm finished with my blind-test. After numerous adjustments being tested during repeated 25 mile one-way trips to work, I've arrived at C6/R13 (counter-clockwise). My last ride home, felt better, more stable through turns. I'll leave it here and put repeated trips on the clock to see if results repeat. Having arrived at nearly the same place, I guess this is it, unless I want to spend money. If I were to spend money, I'm not even clear where to spend it.
  10. I rode about 100 miles or so, stopping often along the way to adjust both C and R. I've intentualy ignored how many clicks I'm selecting and instead am just concentrating on feel. More miles are needed, then I'll count the clicks and share my findings.
  11. Whoops, I never new it was intended to run Premium, only ever ran Regular. Next fill-up, I'll give Premium a try, and see if I notice.
  12. This is all of your faults. All of the recent activity on this thread has me revising my settings. Today riding to work I've taken my settings of forks: C5 / R12 and am testing C2 / R9. Hoping for softer "hits", with less harsh reaction. I'll report back after a few miles...
  13. @Art My guess is no upgrades have been done, as many times owners don't spend the time or money. With that said, I'd adjust them to stock settings and start from there. Ride for some miles, then decide if they are too harsh, too soft, etc.
  14. Hopped on my V11 this morning to head to work and I find the fuel line leaking, probably just needs the clamp tightened as they're newer. With the helmet still on, I park the V11 and hop on the V7. It has an AK fork upgrade and Wilbers shocks. Sheesh, NIGHT AND DAY DIFFERENCE. I really need to work on the V11, I'm missing out on what could be…
  15. @guzzler Simply put, where mine is C5 & R12, yours is C3 & R9.
  16. Sheesh, a dark art indeed.
  17. Somehow, SoCal is thankfully escaping this heat wave.
  18. I wish others had weighed in on this thread. I've now ridden enough miles that I believe I'll need to upgrade to find an acceptable "bounce". On the road, these dialed in OEM forks seems find, but when hitting any pothole, speedbump, etc at slow speed or fast, they hit far too hard. I suspect I'm not adjusting these correct, but I really tried and this is the best I've found. I've read some reviews from GuzziTech Store and found others stating stock forks reacting the same as mine. Maybe I need to spend some money and find a set of springs. Please recommend any cost effective choices. Lastly, I'll mention the wallowing around corners. If I'm riding aggressive through a turn, it does not feel stable. I suspected SAG, but after my settings, I seem to have run out of adjustment. I find this hard to believe since I'm only 165 pounds, a bit more with gear. Maybe the stock rear spring is built for a lighter guy. Your thoughts are appreciated.
  19. Having now ridden well over 1,000 miles on my bike since acquiring it, but still have yet to set the TPS. I'm wondering what will be different once completed. The bike starts and idles appropriately, even my mpg is acceptable. My only fueling complaint is harshness of throttle. Once a gear is selected and I open the clutch, it grabs too harsh. To avoid this, I sometimes go up two gears then open the clutch.
  20. With such low miles, $6k seems reasonable. Granted, I'm bias.
  21. ...ends in 2 hours, only $4200 thus far.
