Our forum, the only place I can share (MPH)
LaGrasta replied to LaGrasta's topic in Special place for banter and conversation
Oh, it was a Porsche (the squatting frog)! -
After searching for resistors to purchase, I discovered my LEDs, already have built in resistors. So, either they are not enough resistance or it's something else that keeps the right signal from flashing the dash. As for the low fuel light, I'll have to get the ohm meter out and see what's up.

I just heard one of the images/videos found on Hunter Bidan's laptop was him speeding to Las Vegas. It didn't state what he was driving, but he did 172mph! That's faster than I've ever driven. Frankly, I'm impressed and jealous. -
I haven't been tracking this thread but noticed so much activity, and possible problems noted. I copied my post from last December on a lithium I've been running. It's been perfect, no problems, very satisfied. I haven't trickled charged it once, granted I ride at least every two weeks or so. Posted December 9, 2022 YTZ14S Z14S Lithium Ion 12v Battery, 1.98lbs, CCA 300, $122. https://www.amazon.com/dp/B00O179I9W?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details I currently am using this on my 2003. Note: the height of this battery is only 3.4", thus it can be mounted upright, accounting for the positive terminal being on the left, as opposed to the OEM being on the right. Update: this battery has been working perfect, not a single problem. Since this purchase however I ordered a NOCO lithium for my KLX250 and was more impressed than I ever have been with any lithium brand. In the future, I plan to stick with NOCO.

can you explain the fork mods please?

I'm still pulling for BB33, and did terrific this weekend, but damn, two days in a row, docked a position. Great race!

Even some of you will be disappointed in me, but I had to share this with someone that could understand. Having now put over a 1,000 miles on my V11, I've grown much more used to the bike. On my 25 mile all freeway commute yesterday, I passed a few cars and was enjoying all of our roll-on acceleration. When I looked down at my speedo, I was surprised to see it damn near the end of measurement! I was doing 130mph! The crazy thing is, the bike was still pulling so hard, I really didn't think I was going that fast. I've wondered what top speed is but now I know the stock speedo won't be able to report whatever that is. Boy, that felt good!

I leave mine open and it seems all is well, however should anything go wrong, we have no choice for replacement. I've also removed my tank far too many times for any number of reasons and even if I close my OEM petcock, it still flows. My final answer, yes.

Any of these? 16mm fuel petcock https://www.google.com/search?q=16mm+fuel+petcock&rlz=1C1RXQR_enUS1058US1058&oq=16mm+fuel+petcock&aqs=chrome..69i57j0i22i30j0i15i22i30j0i390i650l3.5552j0j4&sourceid=chrome&ie=UTF-8&bshm=nce/1#oshopproduct=pid:5324591134509243524,oid:5324591134509243524,iid:1860027824542414660,pvt:hg,pvo:3&oshop=apv&pvs=0

I removed mine to clean it, but I was not brave enough to whack off the knob, as you suggest. Hopefully, we can find an alternative or an adapter as you suggest. I'm surprised Pingel said no.

Anthony LaGrasta 25726 Demeter Way, Mission Viejo, CA 92691 Add $10 to your check for shipping and if it's more, I'll cover it. If it's less I'll add the difference in cash to the shipment. Thanks!

I still have this if you're interested.

@PJPR01 I converted all of mine to LEDS, and you are correct, I can't get the right signal to flash on the panel. I didn't know this was common, I kept checking everything over and over and finally gave up. I guess I'll swap that bulb back the next time I'm in there. Thanks for sharing this knowledge. This may be what @audiomick is onto as well. Maybe the resistance isn't enough. At least now I know when I hit 200 miles, I only have about 20 or so left in the tank.

Crankcase oil vent hose, $20 Amazon https://www.amazon.com/dp/B000C2Y22S?psc=1&ref=ppx_yo2ov_dt_b_product_details I currently am using this on my 2003. Note: As this hose is intended for water, it is not oil certified. However others have noted no signs of wear for well over 10,000 miles. Even then, no loss of oil, only degradation of the rubber. At this price, and ease of replacement, it serves us to install, and monitor, and replace as needed versus OEM that is hardly available and cost threes times this amount. Taken from this thread,

I did recently install LEDS for all of my instrument lights so I believe the light should be good, connections still look good too. As long as I have the odometer, I'll monitor fuel like most my other bikes. It bugs the light doesn't work though, I'll probably end up chasing it. 6 gallons, yeah I was surprised. It was EMPTY!
-
I finished my fuel test today, 6 gallons, 220 miles; so about 37 mpg. And no, my fuel light doesn't work, as I coasted into the gas station.

ANSWERED How many high milage bikes are out there?

Great thread, our list of items of which to focus for long lasting miles of riding. Thankfully, I do love to tinker! -
Do a thread search, there is one of how to remove/replace the bezel.
-
I'm conducting a fuel test now, not sure if my fuel light even works. I have about 150 miles on the tank thus far, no light yet. I've started to carry a litre of fuel in my backpack... My new work commute is 25 miles one way, nearly all freeway so this won't take long to determine my numbers, although I don't ride every day. It's actually been raining a bunch in SoCal.

I too participated, DGR Los Angeles. I really love this show/ride/charity. I attended Orange County and San Diego in the past; they were better than LA. Instead of my V7 or V11, I took my heavily customed 1982 Honda GL500 Interstate.
