  4. Yesterday and today, rode nearly 100 miles, everything works perfecto!
  5. I believe in God, and I also believe He has a sense of humor. Thus, He's laughing at me. After my repair, and around-the-block test, I posted my poor results. This morning, after much research, I found a NOS speedo and bought it for roughly $300 shipped. Then I hopped on the bike and did a 9 mile round-trip to Home Depot. The speedo worked perfect. Dear God, I'm humbled that I made you smile.
  6. Going to the black face Veglia corrects the white face defect, helping negate future problems. The thread may be the same, but the angle is not correct, but I could cut the black back housing to clear it. It's covered up by the fairing so no one would see. The price is right too! Hoping someone could share any info on this swap.
  7. anyone know if this is a direct fit, cable wise? https://www.ebay.com/itm/125898800443?epid=19057696746&hash=item1d50273d3b:g:ZogAAOSwyARkN6cA&amdata=enc%3AAQAIAAAA4IqsTjK603A1ebQnMHJX6uROCWE3sUIQW21i%2BLkzDNaR5bjrJKHDGgalMsZ%2FU0ZNLhC7X7PnsnszbW7O2%2Bcbi%2BAOvQeODlhUViWDi%2By0HDvth%2B8c%2Bb5H70PmlPohnF1Skm0bK6j%2BZo5y38HbY4aB%2BCfX1uEr%2BSq4kDHVz4xqwSpMHByJP%2BHV2AcOgjrTcG9PoZNLbX83c4WA9Hd%2B040gtEyhSrrBC8NZtHzPhomAgKxCWfgcnFob2DN46bWD3G9NxU41JIGAuDvRcyzNmwNSdNEzNQgqfvWq%2FjM7DCooLqQV|tkp%3ABk9SR5Ce1Yr5YQ
  8. If you've read my post, I'm still chasing this speedo problem. I thought for sure it was just a gear or cable problem, and now I believe it was both that and the speedo itself, worm gear I suspect is worn. At last resort, I'll spend $400 with Joel Levine to repair mine. Prior to doing so, does anyone have a Ducati metal worm gear they'll part with, or even a spare working speedo?
  9. I recently discovered Voom advertised on Fortnine (Youtube). Not available in all states, and of course not mine! I have seven bikes, $140 annual registration fee each, plus insurance (Progressive) I need to move!
  10. UGH!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! After two months of ordering, shipping, ordering, again and again, etc, etc wrong part ordered, wrong part shipped, confusion on the "2003 sport" (2002 or 2004 fitment?) Tank off, tank on, again and again. I finally got all new and correct items. All are now installed: new transmission 60° gear, new speedometer 60° gear, new OEM cable. I start it up, and away I go. The needle is bouncing, but then smooths out and registers correct, then it doesn't! I'm so frustrated. I guess the speedo is also in need of replacement. For bike that didn't run for over a decade, it was easier to get it started, running, and dialed in than it is to deal with this stupid speedo set-up.

  12. I buy a lot of used gear, as well as off-brands. With a bit of research, you'll find many name brands are mere marketing success stories, and not always a better quality.
  13. These last few years, I've grown to really admire the grit of Brad Binder #33. After his terrific Sprint, I was rather deflated with his race, not all his fault, but chips lay where they fall.
  14. yeah, my blinker relay is generally just tossed under there as well. The OEM rubber sleeve is old and dry so I discarded it. Just tuck it away and forget about it, no harm. #zipties
  15. Good overall report, pics too! I'd say the bike looks like it was owned by a decent owner, few little mods here and there. You're in good shape. Give it a good wash and ride on! I like the way the Ram mount is located, I may do the same.
  16. I only watch Motos and MMA, no stick and ball sports (any longer). This past weekend was SX, MotoGP, and UFC; I had a busy TV schedule!
  17. @LowRyter yes, yes, yes! His 2015 behavior was a disgrace, he was dead to me afterward. Dorna allowed him to get away with it, sheesh. Yesterday they gave him a two lap penalty, not nearly enough as he essentially finished two championship seasons. It's far too difficult to claw back that many points, now more than ever. I heard this morning, he now needs arm surgery, and is out.
  18. Yup, got the one of these in the stable as well. In fact, it's my second (sold the first). This one however is the actual Cycle World feature bike! http://www.champsclock.com/gb500hu.htm
  19. No good. If it were only the bend at the gear box, I may have been able to come up with something. Both ends on the new cable were correct, but the side (speedo side) with the flat slit, was a bit too narrow. Even this I could have made work, but after a number of other items too, not worth overcoming. At least I ruled something out for us.
  20. After some research, I thought I order this and give it a try. Free return if it doesn't work out. I can use this style cable and possibly not need the angle gear(s). I'll report back after it arrives. https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B07FY63KPK/ref=ppx_yo_dt_b_asin_title_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
  21. Any brand lubricant of your choice.
  22. Sad, but true. If I had to guess, $5k for a clean example.
  23. Am I understanding this correct? I ship them my forks for measuring and such, thus helping them make a template for shop. In return I receive a free set of upgraded fork internals? If so, I'm game!
