  1. I have a PC on my 2010 V7, added by the PO. It's given me no problems.
  2. Believing I too may have a head gasket leak, I'm appreciative to have found this thread. Thanks guy!
  3. I found a bolt to plug the dipstick hole, just until my used ebay unit arrives. With that plugged, I hosed off the oil, then used an air hose to dry. This morning, it looks completely dry. This evening, I plan to blow some baby powder on the top of the engine, fire it up, and see where it's wet. If it is indeed the cylinder base gasket as I suspect, I'll try to retorque (30 ftlbs) and cross my fingers. If it still leaks, I'll swap gaskets after a new one is ordered. Week after week, I wait to ride…
  4. @redlion No need to replace the Zerk, the grease gun has enough pressure to push through any hardened grease. As for not seeing any coming out while pumping, I suspect your grease tube is empty. When I greased these, I merely pumped three times each. I could barely see the nipple, let alone any extra grease being pushed out. Don't over think this (as I so often do about everything).
  5. Hand-tight.
  6. Appreciate your mentioning the 10mm fork rise. I have mine about 3, but hearing your 10, I plan to adjust. I mentioned in another thread, my surprise at the V11 slow steering, as compared to my V7.
  7. Let me ask this. Can oil leak from around the chrome vent pipe that protrude from the top of the engine? Outside of that, there isn't any other place to leak, except the cylinder itself.
  8. No, my guess is about 1 o clock, if looking at the left cylinder from the side of bike. I'm still not certain if it is leaking. I hosed it down after the initial road side oil blow, and was surprised to see any oil at all remaining. Granted this was the first time i started it after replacing the vent line. I'm being optimistic though, it's probably another leak, not sure where. Like I said, once I get the new dipstick screwed-in, we'll start it and see.
  9. if it ain't broke…
  10. …still tinkering. Since buying this bike, I've ridden about 150 miles. All the while addressing any needs that are obvious, or suddenly pop up. I just replaced the oil vent line with success. However I still see some oil on top of the engine, almost looks like the left cylinder base gasket. I'll hose it off, take it for a ride and see if it continues, maybe is residuals as it's very little. I can't yet do that because my ape of a friend, cross threaded my dip stick! My used ebay stick is to arrive this week. Once received, I'll screw it in, go for a ride, and see where I stand.
  11. Actually twenty quid in these days of inflation is twenty dollars. Thanks for the reply, however I bought one today, stateside. Cheers.
  12. @deadpen69 Yes, thank you!
  13. I use ratchet-straps on my handle bars, attached to the garage joist. I also use a car jack for stabilizing. When I recently did the front fork seals, I actually cradled the bike under a ladder with ratchet-straps! Please post a few pics when you can, I'd like to see it!
  14. @Speedfrog Once I discovered so many retailers were sourcing their goods from Ali, I started going direct, saving an amazing amount. More than this though, it's the selection, so many choices!

  19. Raising the forks up through the triples will speed the steering. It shortens the wheelbase.
  20. The more I examine this option, I think I could remove the stock bars, raise the forks through the triple trees about a half-inch (achieving a welcomed slightly faster steering), then mount these Tarrozzi on top on the triple tree, achieving a solid 3" lift. The added bonus, maybe no need for longer lines! After I complete this handle bar mod, I want to fabricate rear foot peg mounts that don't put the passenger's feet tucked under their ass. I think I could easily make a new plate mounted to the same two upper mount points, same muffler mount relationship, then a more forward foot peg mounting location.
