I hate to do it but it's time to move on from my Ballabio. I just can't comfortably ride 2 up on it. It's a sweetheart bike. The biggest issue has been shifting but that was solved with with greasing the shift shaft, adjusting the eccentrics and changing the trans oil. It has Alpina tubeless wheels which were on when I bought it. The speedo died around 10k miles and I replaced it with a GPS model which now shows 2800 miles. Runs beautifully, never had an issue in the 3 years that I have had it. I would like to see it go to a good home. $3500 or best offer.

Thanks all! I've been looking at the Hepco Beckers racks. I have hard time thinking of spending $600 but it's the only one that looks like it fits. The adjustable Passenger strap actually kind of makes sense. It would put her weight lower where I could handle it better. On another angle, has anyone tried to relocate the passenger foot pegs down and forward with the extenders that fit where the clevis pin goes. I think they make them for BMW's.

I have had a Ballabio for about 3 years and love this bike. Once I got it to shift it has been perfect. Except when you put a passenger on it. With two up it fails completely. My passenger, about 130 pounds, has no control when I apply the brakes and her weight comes directly to me. Most of the time I like this but it does make riding a little harder. Has anyone found a seat/foot peg set up that makes this livable?

I have been reading this link closely as like KenBlake I have a 2004 Ballabio and the shifting has really detracted from the enjoyment of the bike. Lots of false neutrals and a lot of effort shifting. I am new to this bike and only have about a 1000 miles on it. My hope was to put off pulling it apart till winter. However, I found this trickle of transmission oil which looked like the area of the lever seal but turned out to be the eccentric just above it. The nut was loose and trying too tighten it was turning the eccentric which by this time was at anyones guess. I tried to tighten it figuring I had a maybe 1 in 10 shot at being close. It wasn't close and now would not go into 3rd. So I pulled it apart, adjusted it to ~0.032" at it closest point and of course changed the oil. It all seemed okay otherwise. I also cleaned and greased the shift mechanism. I only have about 30 miles on it but it is much, much better. Time will tell!

I just got back from filling it up for the first time really looking at the numbers and got 41.5 mpg. Which from reading what you are saying seems about average. Good to know.
