I think so...but those Webers are just beautiful, especially the eg1. I'm sure the law of diminishing returns applies here, and idk if my palate is that refined to taste the differences between flat burr and conical. I am going to search out an espresso bar that knows their stuff and has the equipment to see how it compares to my cup of mud.

Apples to oranges. I've been a simple carpenter for over 50 years with an affinity for things well built from wood, especially when they are old.

Nice! I wonder where they got the new decal. I'll have to keep my eye out for one. I like the simplicity.

My Olympia Express is almost 40 years old. I bought it for $400 at Zabars in NYC as a birthday present for my girlfriend. We parted many years later and remained friends. She was moving and had a garage sale and invited me to come down a day early to see if I was interested in anything. When I arrived I saw she had this unit for sale along with her leather motorcycle jacket I also bought for her. Long story short, I had to buy them both back. The jacket got used by other women over time and the espresso maker is still working fine. My kids used it for years for frothing up their cocoa. It blows me away to see what they are selling for today. I only had to pay $100 to get it back.

Here is another resource for bikers in Oregon. I've heard good things about this guy and plan on getting my Stelvio seat improved or remade by him and a worn V11 seat recovered. www.mredsmoto.com

Oh geez, you might have me started on something else...

@p6x there is always that Diaval V4 to look at in Cypress. 200 lbs less, double the fun for double the price. Red too! I agree with Pete, except for burning body parts.

I saw that one you mentioned in Allen. Looks like you won't find one better. I always wondered how I would like a cruiser seating position. It's a bit different.
-
You definitely plan your entry and exits. Just like on a Stelvio. Might not have the weight of the MGX, but the high seat height makes it a bit tougher.
-
I get it. If the V100 Mandello and Stelvio don't pump the numbers up, not sure what variants will. I don't have a clue what sales numbers are. It would be interesting to see how much interest they generated. Everybody has great things to say about them, but where's the money?

It looks about as light as you can make a Guzzi.

Thanks for the explanation. The text I saw with the pic was all in Italian, so I didn't have a clue. But having the MG logo had me wondering.

I think that leather looks sweet. You can't get that richness and feel with vinyl. I live in the PNW also. Rainy days from June to October you can often count on one hand plus we seem to have many more days now that are 90 plus temps. My guess is that bike won't be out in the rain much,if at all.

I know there's Ed's in Albany. Is that what you were thinking? I have a card for him somewhere...with my notes.

Struggling to separate the two halves of the drive shaft
activpop replied to Molly's topic in Technical Topics
That's quite the assemblage of stuff in the shop to create pull. Where there's a will there's a way. I like it. In hindsight, I wonder if putting the drive shaft assembly on a press would have worked. When the unit is on the bike I don't think it is bottomed out. It can move either way and the goal was just to break it free. It is just a thought. Unfortunately, I just thought about it today after following this post. We were all zeroed in on pulling, when pushing might have been been an easier option. -
Is Halloween fading away in the USA?

I can live with this one, as long as I stay off that street... -
