  1. I realized a long time ago the benefits of Gortex. I also know it is not your own HVAC system. Even if it could expel moisture, it couldn't do it at a rate fast enough to keep up with the moisture produced from exertion. That's where your wicking base layers and warmer medium layers come into play. Gortex does what it needs to do for me...keep me dry. I have noticed over many decades as a PNW duck hunter there is a difference between different shells and jackets. The difference lies in the construction and the quality of the seams. Quality products have better longer lasting seams. Sure, they cost more, but when you're running up the Gilbert River at 4:30 in the morning in a driving rainstorm, the price of your garment is the last thing on your mind.
  2. @p6x pick your poison...and your price. https://inventory.rideeurocycle.com/Pre-owned-Inventory-2016-Moto-Guzzi-Motorcycle-Scooter-Stelvio-1200-8V-NXT-ABS-Reno-14167853
  3. No humidity in his neck of the woods but as was mentioned moisture can wreak havoc. Not sure though what the heat would do. After all, they get hot every time you ride, so maybe not a big issue. I like that orange!
  4. Interesting that this guy has two for sale. Seems to be reasonable pricing for both. Maybe better than that...as @Twin AH said...a virtual steal https://reno.craigslist.org/mcy/d/imlay-2016-moto-guzzi-el-dorado/7674635282.html
  5. The dog doing the mosey-by brings this down home backyard music to the right level...I guess we're talking deck level.
  6. Perfect color for Halloween!
  7. I agree with Mick on BT stand. I dont know if you can find better. I bought mine from Stein Dinse even though I am in Oregon. It was less expensive than getting it in the states, and that is including shipping.
  8. At the risk of this being a repeat...one of my favorite albums.
  9. I agree, especially the part about getting away with dumb stuff. The mindset of people on the road today is "it's all about me". It bothers me though, especially seeing the young woman as a passenger. She needed to be more assertive, for her own good. I know my two daughters would have.
  10. Coming home from Seattle yesterday heading south in my car on I-5, cruise control set at 76 mph. The road finally opened up after all that Seattle, Tacoma and Olympia congestion. I see some two bikes coming up fast from the rear, weaving in and out of cars and lane splitting. They lane split right by me going much faster. Single rider on one and a male rider with female passenger on the other...they looked young. Nothing more than hoodies and t-shirts on with the wind exposing their backsides. 30 seconds later I couldn't make them out. A short time later there is a bit of a slowdown. Three or so cars pulled over, one bike that I noticed on a side stand with people all moving around in different directions. I did notice the girl still with her helmet on as one of them. I don't know what happened but it did not look good. Very troubled by what I saw. Nothing I could do about it.
  11. Ok, sounds fair. Let me think about it. Maybe others need them more than me. I have turned away from so many low mileage V11's because recall wasn't satisfied...but if I had the ability to fix that then just maybe. What I do need though is a right side cover, black would be nice. I'll check ebay.
  12. @fotoguzzi, How much are you asking?
  13. Now you have two Guzzis to consider in Colorado, a Stelvio and a Quota. This one is so much better priced than the Boise one and it's red! I suspect these might not move too fast so that puts the buyer in a better position for a price adjustment.
  14. BMW used a shortened version of 4x4 for their cars. They marketed X Drive around 20 years ago. They started with their SUV's, then put it on some cars. I bought a new GSX in the early '90's, which signified awd. They have been using that letter for quite a while. Now I guess it has a different meaning. If it rolls off the tongue, someone will use it to market something.
  15. What dates are you thinking? Are Stelvios allowed?
  16. Yep, it's a work of art...in my book at least.
  17. There, a bit more of the tree.
  18. And the leaves are nice too.
  19. @docc, I dont have it back together yet so can't answer that. Many things in life this year have kept me from putting the time in...covid for one, lost a whole month there. Soon though. What baffles me is the difference in orientation of the driveshaft on different bikes. Mine was like the shop manual diagram. Why are others spun around? Don't have a clue, but mechanically it shouldn't make a difference.
  20. Same as what docc? The pictures or the diagram? Mine had the female spline off of the gearbox, just like the diagram. That is the shorter piece with the grease zerk. I marked mine before I removed it. It was not lined up with the factory white marks...almost 90° off. The yokes were not on the same plane. If I put it back to the marks, they are. It's a phenomena.
