Head lift stand compatible with v11 Sport or Lemans
activpop replied to al_roethlisberger's topic in Technical Topics
I picked up a used pair of PB stands for the V11 but needed to buy these because the rear stand was set up for spools. http://www.pit-bull.com/?model=f0002-001 Bike seems rock solid. Front has standard cradle for fork bottoms. When needing the front lifted I use the BT center stand and tie off the front end to a truss and pull it up with an inline come along. Nothing in the way with that method. Not everybody has a strong truss above their bike though. -
Impressive!

I chatted with the guy for a bit. He said he wants the bike to go to someone who really appreciates it...which really means it will go to whoever comes up with an agreed amount. Every bike has a story, some better than others. Plus, it doesn't have a chain.

Very pretty bike...I talked to owner to get the skinny on it. He only had it for 300 miles, his body said no to the ergonomics. The ad is a copy from the previous sale by a multiple Guzzi owner and airline mechanic who did the work. I have a condo in FL and was thinking maybe, but then I came to my senses when I thought about the heat. Yes, it falls within recall numbers. https://miami.craigslist.org/mdc/mcy/d/pahokee-2001-moto-guzzi-v11-sport/7581225754.html

San Diego air is not conducive to mint.

I am so confused about this recall info. I called on this silver bike and Impala's. They both fall in the recall range, but Piaggio said they don't need the work. I thought 100% of the bikes in that range had a suspect tranny. I dont know if i am getting the right info. When I called on my bike before I bought it, they said the recall had been satisfied. I've called on two others, the silver Tennessee V11 with 5k on it and the Greenie from eastern Washington. They both had no service recorded, but it was required. Varying degrees of info from years gone by, company ownership changes, not so accurate record keeping and guys on the phone who maybe just don't know. I'll just focus on Guzzis later than the recall dates.

I tried, they only go bike by bike. You tell them the VIN, they tell you what is on the record.

Buyer beware...falls into recall numbers. She is just there to distract you.

I should have figured that one out...thanks!

Let me run that by my wife... -
Would like to locate right black sidecover for 2001 V11. If I had to get a pair of carbon fiber covers I could live with that if they are available. Too many cracks on mine from front mounting screw I guess. I could do a repair but would prefer not too. I also would like to find some key blanks close to originals...any chance of that happening? Thanks!

Follow up on those stand instructions...emailed Becker Tecknik over the weekend asking for English instructions for the stand. A reply was sent to me with full English instructions at 6:44AM Monday German time. How is that for a quick reply? Sort of ticks me off that I had to do this...if it was that easy for me, it seems like Stein Dinse should have prepared better for their American customers...that's my gripe for the week.

Been so busy with some travel, family stuff and holidays that not much work done. Finally got my BT stand from BD after ping ponging across the Atlantic 3x. Came with instructions only in German...i asked them for English translation and they told me to contact BT. Seems like you would want them to provide proper instructions for something holding up over 400 lbs. In the meantime I found a used pair of pit bull stands for a great price so the bike is lifted now with both wheels off. Have new Angel GT's ready to go on wheels today. Got the bead breaker wheel stand from HF, worth every penny. Will do driveline service while wheels are off and new brake pads and caliper service. Still looking for a used HF cycle lift. Just missed out on a almost new used one for $450. Have to be quick with them, they go fast on CL. There will be others, just have to be the early bird.

Yep, I understand fully. I read into who I was dealing with after the first 30 seconds talking with him, so I gingerly worked with his full of himself personality...talk about going to the beat of a different drummer. I would offer him $2500 for it because of the bad tranny and his attitude if I wasn't so far away. His reaction would be fun to hear.

I've talked to the guy and have the VIN. It falls within the recall numbers, and the service was never performed per Piaggio. He didn't seem to care, but I did.

Start of summer for you...nice! Woke up to 24°F this morning, coldest of the year so far. No fooking rippers for me...

I tracked the order when I knew it should have been here by now. Seems it was delivered to somewhere in Sherwood, Delaware, not Oregon. Was sent back to Germany. Can't figure that one out since the Zip should be the big clue on where to point the nose. I have an email sent to Stein Dinse so I should hear back Monday. Oh well, wasn't going to get to rear tire replacement until after Christmas anyway.

There is a nice one in Oregon. Please buy it so I don't.

4.5" rear wheel...I'll go with the 160.
