  1. Got the cash, got the proximity, just no nod of approval from my wife. Good luck with it, hope he has some wigggle room.
  2. Thats what I figured. It seemed like an odd maintainenance requirement and adjustment with no measurements, but thought I would ask while the wheel is off. All I wanted to do is lube up all areas accessible, including universals and do a clean up.
  3. There are many forums with trade names as their titles...Duramax, Ducati ms, etc. All these forums would seem to benefit the manufacturers but what do I know, I am just a simple carpenter. Could we see this happening all across the world?
  4. I would hope so!
  5. You havent been studying your service manual...lol. Section O, page 6. Diagram bottom left shows different shapes of wear on pinion gear so miniscule idk if I could tell the difference in real life...certainly not a measurable difference.
  6. I would think this isn’t done too often. Should I consider this at 16k and are there even any shims available?
  7. I can see it now...the lemansters.
  8. Overheard at a Piaggio board meeting... Lets see now..do a little more R&D, or hire some lawyers?
  9. I picked up a used pair of PB stands for the V11 but needed to buy these because the rear stand was set up for spools. http://www.pit-bull.com/?model=f0002-001 Bike seems rock solid. Front has standard cradle for fork bottoms. When needing the front lifted I use the BT center stand and tie off the front end to a truss and pull it up with an inline come along. Nothing in the way with that method. Not everybody has a strong truss above their bike though.
  10. I chatted with the guy for a bit. He said he wants the bike to go to someone who really appreciates it...which really means it will go to whoever comes up with an agreed amount. Every bike has a story, some better than others. Plus, it doesn't have a chain.
  11. Very pretty bike...I talked to owner to get the skinny on it. He only had it for 300 miles, his body said no to the ergonomics. The ad is a copy from the previous sale by a multiple Guzzi owner and airline mechanic who did the work. I have a condo in FL and was thinking maybe, but then I came to my senses when I thought about the heat. Yes, it falls within recall numbers. https://miami.craigslist.org/mdc/mcy/d/pahokee-2001-moto-guzzi-v11-sport/7581225754.html
  12. Saw one on Ebay.
  13. San Diego air is not conducive to mint.
  14. I am so confused about this recall info. I called on this silver bike and Impala's. They both fall in the recall range, but Piaggio said they don't need the work. I thought 100% of the bikes in that range had a suspect tranny. I dont know if i am getting the right info. When I called on my bike before I bought it, they said the recall had been satisfied. I've called on two others, the silver Tennessee V11 with 5k on it and the Greenie from eastern Washington. They both had no service recorded, but it was required. Varying degrees of info from years gone by, company ownership changes, not so accurate record keeping and guys on the phone who maybe just don't know. I'll just focus on Guzzis later than the recall dates.
  15. I tried, they only go bike by bike. You tell them the VIN, they tell you what is on the record.
  16. Buyer beware...falls into recall numbers. She is just there to distract you.
  17. I should have figured that one out...thanks!
  18. Let me run that by my wife...
  19. Would like to locate right black sidecover for 2001 V11. If I had to get a pair of carbon fiber covers I could live with that if they are available. Too many cracks on mine from front mounting screw I guess. I could do a repair but would prefer not too. I also would like to find some key blanks close to originals...any chance of that happening? Thanks!
  20. Follow up on those stand instructions...emailed Becker Tecknik over the weekend asking for English instructions for the stand. A reply was sent to me with full English instructions at 6:44AM Monday German time. How is that for a quick reply? Sort of ticks me off that I had to do this...if it was that easy for me, it seems like Stein Dinse should have prepared better for their American customers...that's my gripe for the week.
