  1. Just got the skinny from California. @Lucky Philwas onto something when he said to remove the cap and pump. I found out from the shop the proper way to bleed the fork to get all air out, and I suspect that needs to be done better. I have a fork bleeder ordered so when it comes I can dial that side in better. I also know now the proper way to check fluid level, so between those two things I should be good to go.
  2. OK, some other pros...how's that? I figure it would be wise to talk to the guys who do suspension work all week every week.
  3. That has been mentioned before by others. I have not been able to detect much difference at full plus and minus settings, either in or out. I've been a pumping fool and tried, but nothing discernable to me. I hope to have a yay or nay tomorrow after chatting with some pros.
  4. I am quite impressed with AirMoto tire inflator recommended by @Pressureangle. So easy to check and fill up anything I have here. No plugging in the small compressor and waiting anymore!
  5. Thanks Phil, I'll try that. I never had a clue that two fork legs could act so differently. I would think from a physical standpoint the unequal actions would have different forces exerted on each side of the axle. I guess the axle is pinned in so tightly that nothing negative gets transferred to the wheel, but I'm no engineer. I'm anxious to see what the shop says.
  6. I have the long conical shape muffler in satin black on my Griso. I think the unit came flawless and the satin black looks and sounds great on the bike. Haven't removed the db killer yet.
  7. I never noticed because I think I only pumped one. It was mentioned on another site that they are supposed to be like that. One is for compression and the other is for rebound. I never imagined each leg could act so differently. I'm no suspension expert, but I can call one come Monday to get their take. There is a shop in California that deals with nothing else. First time ever replacing seals. It was easier than I thought.
  8. I just finished replacing fork seals on my 2012 NTX. The first one I pumped up and down after putting cap on...I felt it equalize the oil and after a few pumps, it felt like I think it should. You can feel the oil doing its thing. After completing the other one I compressed it to move the oil around, and I have no hydraulic feel, just spring. Pumped a few more times and still felt the same pogo effect, with zero hydraulic feel. And yes, same amount of oil in the leg. What did I do wrong?
  9. At a risk of getting thrown outta here, I would like to say a pair of Contis on Ducati bevel might be on par with that.
  10. I catch your drift Pete, but you gotta admit that stock can is a lot of metallic mumbo jumbo. Something had to be done.
  11. I too think the red Griso is a work of art...once you get rid of that monster muffler. I put on a Mistral can that looks perfect with the bike and sounds great. I have work to do also before John Day. The Stelvio forks are off now to put new seals in and then the swing arm comes off for lube. Then I'm ready...I think. I'm also waiting for some hot sunny days to warm up my new Coppa tires for a switch. A little nervous about doing them myself, the rims are perfect but I have done quite a few now. Heat is the key. I'm in Vegas now helping my cousin do stuff in her new house...this is the place to do tires.
  12. @roktbox Wonderful tribute to your musclebound lady!
  13. Geez, came 5:30 this morning, eight hours after ordering. IDK how they do it.
  14. Get to Fruita early, those pies go fast.
  15. I just ordered @Pressureanglesuggested unit at 9:30 PT, on sale and should be here tomorrow between 4 and 8 AM. Somebody is working this holiday. I can't believe the turnaround time. Thanks to the best group of guys anywhere!
  16. @Tomchri Sounds about right!
  17. If you're around Moab and route works out, the roads and views around Capitol Reef NP are amazing. If Fruita is along the way, stop in for a pie. But you cant go wrong almost anywhere in Southern Utah.
  18. Am I getting my figuring right? 17k? That's an expensive fender! But it comes with a Coppa, so there's that.
  19. @footgoose I am talking about those small portable ones you can carry on the bike. They look to be the size of an old transistor radio.
  20. Any recommendations for one of these units? I see them advertised but haven't pulled the trigger on one yet. Some of the Chinese ones go for peanuts, but can they be counted on?
  21. My old stomping grounds...now that's more like it with the price. Oh, but that seat! https://www.facebook.com/share/p/qW4v54swWWxXWWNw/?mibextid=xfxF2i
  22. I think that one sold.
  23. I used SealMates on my Stelvio forks. They were leaking pretty good. Lots of crud came out and now everything seems like it should be. So that either means the fork is out of oil or there is oil and I fixed it. Only thing I dont know is how much leaked out for the previous owner. I don't think you can check oil level with forks installed. So if I take them out, new seals and wipers go in.
  24. Any storm that takes human life is "that bad". The frequency that it happens here is on the uptick.
